  1. They needed to win, they didn’t. They didn’t deserve to either. Don’t listen to their narrative. Let’s hammer the minis.

  2. INIQUITOUSIV , lm convinced they’re taking something at halftime, it doesn’t stack up.

  3. Falling off a cliff — physically — after 60 minutes plus.

We are over-trained — the mix is not right.

Some of the payers are struggling with the expectation.

Too many look emotionally drained after an hour.

Some can’t deal with the number of chances we make.

They have lost the single minded vision to make the most of everyone.

They are a limited team but they know that.

They can work it out for themselves on the pitch.

We can’t or maybe we aren’t allowed to.

    AR = squad RB

    GT = squad LB

CS = squad CB who needs to keep his focus throughout the game.

    NB = squad DM

CMcG = squad LS AM although he has played well this season.

    Huge gaps in the squad.

  4. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least, one thing for sure it will not be detected.

  5. Honestly, I must have watched a different game to the TV pundits and alot if guys on here.

Apart from the first 10 minutes we were the better team. The inevitable throw the kitchen sink at it approach after they equalised never convinced me that they had the energy or wherewithal to do the job.

My biggest gripe with our own performance was the we should have been three up at half time and in the second half we made some poor decisions when we were in really good attacking positions.

Starfelt was MOTM although Jota was excellent throughout.

I am quite surprised at how relaxed the orcs appear to be about just having lost £40 million. Perhaps they are convinced that they are winning the EL? Weird.

  6. As many have said already, we we very poor in the 2nd half, except for Carl and CCV, and wee Gregg.

Hatate was just awful and looked like a wee Bhoy playing against Men, I would have taken him off at half time to be honest….If not before.

Jota and Maeda SHOULD BOTH have scored in the 1st half. Jota SHOULD have chested that ball down and hit it home instead of going for a ” SPECCy” ….Spectagular header.

Sorry to say this but Wee Maeda ” Bottled It” against the Hun goalie….who ALSO couldnt resist having a SLY Hun kick at him after Maeda had missed the ball.

Obviously a Draw suits Celtic…and it was a game we could have easily have lost…Joe Hart at fault for Huns goal….joe will know that.

Anyway to any lurking Huns….GIRFUY !

    Ha Ha Ha.

    HH.

  7. IniquitousIV on

It’s a bit sobering to consider that it was the Old Firm’s THIRD choice striker who equalized, then hit the post when he could just as easily have scored the winner. And getting dominated in midfield by a midfield featuring a near 40 year old Davis is ridiculous.

  8. Could not bear to watch after they scored. Felt our midfield was weak and will need strengthening for next season. Our full backs were left with a lot to do. Cannot not understand why Anthony Ralston stands off at some distance from the winger. Was disappointed at Joe Hart’s poor attempt to save their goal shot.

We need to concentrate very seriously in the next games to make sure of the title.

  9. Dexter P. Bampot on

Just out of ground. The stadium went silent with that last big chance for the old firm xi.

Yes we should’ve been 2 up at least but the way that game panned out I’m very happy with a point.

Yet again the euro Thursday team looked stronger at the end.

Hatate was a waste of a jersey again. No harm to him but Tony’s decision making is atrocious. Calmac played well. We’d be lost without CCV. Sign him immediately

  10. They are facilitated by Sky not to show SPFL sponsors, a green wall today with the Celtic crest behind , for a club that bans some media and doesnt cooperate with sponsors doesn’t harm them, we fret over issuing tickets to them

  11. A 12 point swing since new year and 29 league games unbeaten. Well done Celtic. Work to be done in the summer though.

As for the huns, they’re a strong, athletic and well organised side that do the basics very well. We’re 6 clear because we’re the better side. A Liepzig win on Thursday and they’ll have a summer of downsizing to look forward to.

  12. Does the SPL test for drugs?

If they do then what are their protocols?

Given some of the performances seen in the SPL the question has to be asked.

The other question in play is our performance levels after half time.

We were poor after the break then we settled down a bit.

Seen it quite a lot this season.

  13. they needed to win

    sucks to be them

a draw was good enough, Hart kept us in the game but ‘ its all over now baby blue ‘

Ange has pulled oot a miracle

we are gonna win the league

    no bullshit mate :O)

Irrespective of the result today, my day is already made

A young fan , 12, who has been undergoing treatment for leukaemia sine August is back in his seat just along from me

    ………………….

    POST of the Day…MAGIC !

    HH.

  15. At this stage of the season, all that matters is results. We’ve done the hard work, the needed to win today and didnt, they fell short.

We’re the better team over the course of the season, that’s all that matters

  16. I think I’m done with CQN post match. We’ve just effectively killed any remaining hope they had of catching us. We’ve turned around a six point deficit with an incredible unbeaten run including two wins against the zombies home and away. This super duper, fittest fastest orc team (supposedly) hasn’t beaten us in 90 minutes over 4 games. Yet we are unfit, overtrained, a team of squad players (that one makes me laugh!) blah blah blah

I’ve avoided saying it until now but – f£¥€ you sevco, we are going to win the league!

  17. Dexter P. Bampot on

Can’t believe some seriously think old firm xi are on performance drugs.

These are squads of professional athletes who should be able for such turnarounds. The more important question is why we have faltered after an hour again

  18. They’re in better form than us but they still can’t beat us over 90 minutes.

    We’ll be better next season

Do we need to dust down the tutu for your flounce ;O)

  20. onenightinlisbon on

    Delighted with the point.

The situation with reo really baffles me.

He states he is both physically and mentally exhausted.

This is clear from his on field performances yet Ange plays him? No idea why…

  21. ROBERTTRESSELL on 1ST MAY 2022 2:27 PM

Ignore it and carry on posting, please. Some are never happy

As CELTIC40ME has explained, in an excellent analysis, the difference between CL and Europa League participation is not as large as is frequently quoted. The Old Firm have received some transfer funds for their young full back ( although the amount js probably exaggerated ) , they will receive the UEFA bonuses for reaching the Europa Semi-Final ( and possibly further ), they have garnered a lot of gate money, and based on their last 4 campaigns, they probably feel they will do well again next season in Europe.

The latter is just speculation on my part, but I was curious why you feel the Orcs appear rather relaxed about not winning the league?

  23. GEEBEE1978 on 1ST MAY 2022 2:04 PM

I’d have taken the point before and I’ll take it now. They needed the win and we’ll win the title.

We got away with it towards the end but after a 25 point deficit last season, even an unconvincing nervy win on the last day would’ve been miraculous progress.

Perspective needed. We’re far from the finished article and we need improving – but we do it from a position of strength with CL money.

    ——

Good analysis & important points well made.

As always, context & perspective must inform us.

    THE CONTEXT

To win this title against a strong settled team who are doing so well in Europe after the horrors of last season & the early part of this, whilst bringing in a new manager and completely rebuilding the squad, is nothing if not miraculous.

    THE PERSPECTIVE

We are only work in progress and there is still work to be done. Apart from the first-half of the 3-0 game we have been second-best to them in head to heads.

However as big Jock once said ” if you have to struggle, better to be struggling at top”

A new era has begun – let’s embrace it and look forward.

  24. Look at this another way, you’re a zombie, you’re running your mouth off about celtic being the worst team ever to win the league, you’re listening to the nonsense about celtic being ‘tired’ after an hour, yet your team can’t beat Celtic in three attempts in the league. Your team should have been two or three goals down by half time in the last two games.

How to do you square the circle to arrive at the conclusion that your team is better, fitter and stronger?

Facts don’t seem to concern some people.

  25. Tontine Tim on

Couple of weeks back Mr’s TT, who is on a Dumbarton site with her Peoples Republic of Brucehill family, asked me on the eve of the cup game how I felt.

Told her I wisnae sure, she said some of her cousins felt the same way.

Last night she asked the same, I replied I was much more confident and should scud them but again we widnae be allowed tae win the League against them, I know we did with BR but think Lenny and the nae penalty at that effin coup.

  26. Brizzo 1888 on

Ange needs a experienced coach to assist him , Kennedy & Strachan are not.

Shaun Maloney who was well rated when he was Assistant to Martinez, get him for next season.

  27. RT @ 2.16

Poor decision making — our biggest failing this season.

Something that desperately needs to be worked on.

Some of it is greedy play.

Some of it is a desire to be flashy.

Some of it is trying to walk the ball into the net.

Some of it is a lack of confidence to try the risky play.

They were poor but we did not make the most of our opportunities.

They did make the most of their opportunities.

The few they created themselves and the many we gifted them.

As noted a third string striker running amok against us is not a good look for a team that is going to win the league.

Last season the NT squad in our dressing room downed tools.

Last season we had loan players on a jolly / in testimonial mode.

Last season we had a manager who struggled to make training on time.

This season they have had a divided squad.

This season they have only turned up for cup games.

This season they have lost their manager half way through the season.

We have a huge amount of work to do.

The results against B/G show how much effort will be required.

Poor result / performance against TFOD2.1 — sore one to take.

  28. Happy with draw.

Good first half … Not so good second half !

Last two games against them GVB has been more technically acute than big Ange in later stages of the games

Missed JJ and need a good quality leader in the middle of the park next year.

Looking forward to a cracking game next week….be good to win it against mini Huns..

  29. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Am genuinely chuffed heading home from the game.

No it’s, buts, maybes, gripes or concerns.

Old Firm FC needed a certain outcome to keep league race alive to any realistic degree.

    They failed.

Match was drawn but, make no mistake, we were the winners today and they were the losers.

We’ll improve again next year with Champions League income, a later start to preseason and Ange implementing phase 2 of the rebuild.

  30. Inquisitov- I’m looking at the reaction of their fans at full time and listening to their professional fans commentary and punditry on the game. They seemed strangely OK with not winning today. Given that so much is at stake it makes me curious. If it were us in their situation we’d be in uproar.

I find it strange, even though they have shown time after time their capacity to ignore the facts.

Incidentally I’ve just remembered who has the biggest wage bill in Scotland- and it isn’t Celtic. Utterly baffling that they are not more openly upset at having just lost the league. I do think their run to the euro semi has anaesthetised them somewhat to the pain.
