Inquisitov- I’m looking at the reaction of their fans at full time and listening to their professional fans commentary and punditry on the game. They seemed strangely OK with not winning today. Given that so much is at stake it makes me curious. If it were us in their situation we’d be in uproar.
I find it strange, even though they have shown time after time their capacity to ignore the facts.
——————————–
It’s probably because they are in a Euro semi final, that’s a great achievement for a Scottish club so is softening the blow of losing the league.
If they go out, then they might start re-evaluating how the season has gone.
Do the Huns have a bigger wage bill than us??

A game we should have won and could have lost. We’ve dropped our performance levels recently. Nerves or opposition worked out how to negate us?
Either way we are 6 points ahead with three games to go.
Happy with that.

My hope for this season was that we would be competitive and hopefully ready for the start of next season. I would have given my right hand to be in this position and already have the League Cup in the trophy cabinet already. I do think the success we have had over the years has made us greedy and some do not appreciate how difficult it can be to get us over the line.
IniquitousIV on
I think a lot of fans, including me, are just a wee bit frustrated that we didn’t, or couldn’t, take the very rare opportunity to win the league with a win against the Orcs, and rub their faces in it.
Spoiled rotten I know, but I guess we just want it all, and we don’t want to wait.😊

Performance outliers always need to be investigated.
Drug (mis)use is a big issue in just about every sport.
They have been used before in football so it needs to be looked at.
JW and his Gullane Sands commando training was always an interesting story.
Given how performance drugs had links to Scottish athletics in the 70’s through contacts with the US.
And then WJ — ex TFOD1.0 — suddenly gets caught at the 78 WC.

The TFOD2.1 Booster Club has been turned up to 11 regarding their EuL campaign.
I think that every lever has been pulled / every trick has been turned to help them on their way.
They have been kept afloat by their efforts in the cups.
The Hibbee three goal miracle wasn’t in the script but the EuL borefest most certainly was.
If they don’t win then they don’t eat — one way to keep things focused.

Thanks. Methinks you are correct about the anaesthetic effect of reaching the Europa Semi. Reaching the Scottish Cup Final by eliminating our chance of a treble undoubtedly also helps.
When they sell out all their season tickets, all will be right in their world anyway.

OK,I am glad to see most agree with me on the ridiculous decision to play Hatate today.Bringing on Biton when all around are playing like headless chickens is ridiculous.I say most,so many saying Hatate would be the key man today,no idea what you have been watching.
I thought Ralston would have stepped up today, but he was crap.Sorry Tony.Maeda, seems to be a golden boy for some, not me,shit himself for the header.Good cross for the goal, but that was it.
Today,Jota was the only star.Calmac,CCV,Taylor,O Riley, get passes, some of them dodgy.

Do the Huns have a bigger wage bill than us??
This season, probably yes
They also face a rebuild in the summer probably without the security of CL cash. Their best players are in the last year of their contract or are out of contract.
When, if ever, is something going to be done about the refereeing in Scotland. I know it’s deeper than the ref’s themselves , but there simply HAS to be some kind of inquiries made by a football authority higher than Scotland.
Ref today was almost as bad as Madden, but, ffs, he gave us nothing unless it was blatant, but always give them the benefit.
I would like to nominate the following player as our best performer in all the Glasgow Derbies:-
Bjorna Barisic- the Huns must hate him

Our wage figures look a bit low.
Plus I think we will have substantial bonus figures on top.
Poor bonuses for the SPL might explain some of their performances.
Their cup bonuses would appear to be a lot higher to go with the effort they put in.

Absolutely sickened by that second half performance. I already had two correct scores on the Superbru competition and had 3-0 today. It could easily have been that at HT. We simply didn’t come out for the second half.
I’m convinced that we have the better squad, more good players in every position and a superior bench. Yet, for the third time in a row I’m having to seriously question that. We almost turned a potentially convincing 4-0 into a 2-1 defeat there.
I’m not sure who’s at fault here. Recently, I’ve been quite critical of Ange in the last few weeks but I felt today was on the players. Too sloppy in possession and not clinical enough in the final third.
Its a better result for us than them I suppose but to me it almost felt like a defeat.

Looking at the salary tables provided by ROBERTRESSELL, Jota is near the bottom. He needs a very large percentage raise, or we are going to lose him. Just for comparison, Julien earns THREE times his wages.

BIt odd that only 2 minutes added on at the end given the subs and the YCs, plus Sevco finishing strongly.

Also – been doing a bit of digging- when we do get over the line that will be 16 championships this century – our actual 16th title came in season 1921-22
