  1. Obviously wanted the win but more than anything wanted not to lose,

If anyone offered me a draw before kick off, I’d have taken it.

Think we lost 3 of our first 6 games, if anybody said we would be 6 ahead plus 19 goal scoring difference, with 3 games to play, and 2 of them at Celtic Park, you would think they were mad,

The job this year is to win the League, nothing else matters.

Yes of course we have to strengthen for next year & we will.

  2. agree ,we should never have gave thems any tickets for todays game , but nobody listens.

Without Maeda we would not have scored – settle down with then over the top comments.

League won, is that not good enough?

“We also need to be moving on

Barkas, Bolingoli, Julienne, Soro & Ajeti.

There will be more I’ve missed, but t move these 5 gives us significant funds to improve areas required.”

    ——————————

According to ROBERTRESSELL’s tables, that’s a cool c£70,000 per week, or £3,640,000 per year.

  5. Corkcelt. Never agreed with you much

    But 100%

If in December had someone said to me

6 points clear and 3 to play , would of bit their hand of for that

    Amazing

I would like to nominate the following player as our best performer in all the Glasgow Derbies:-

Bjorna Barisic- the Huns must hate him

    —————-

    Very good :O)

What happened with the hun fans at the end??

  8. IniquitousIV on

3 world class saves from Everton’s Pickford in a few seconds. Just amazing goalkeeping.

  9. Psychologically getting over the line is a challenge for most teams. Those with experience know how to do it. This is a brand new Celtic team and the recent dip in performance levels hasn’t surprised me. However, considering all of that, we could have won that game as much as we could have lost it. Them uns needed to win and they didn’t. That’s why we’ll be champions this time next week. And that’s a credit to everyone at the club (board included) considering our starting position. Delighted with the point today.

As for drug testing. There’s a few contributors on here who might be better candidates for a piss sample if that’s how they see things

  10. Very upbeat considering the draw as the Celtic support began leaving the stadium.

Sevco the Europa winners had to beat Celtic in Parkhead but couldn’t and we finish better than them with home and away league wins and a virtual seven point lead If someone had said at the end of last season beat Hearts at home to win it this year, you might have laughed. The midfield battle contested with our out numbered lightweights took 20 minutes to start passing and had it not been poor finishing a ropey first half could have ended 3-0.

The second half always passes very quickly, even against a team that played in Germany on Thursday night, Celtic just couldn’t find the final pass or finish that would have put the game to bed. Three substitutes at once doesn’t work IMO, its nearly a third of a team having to find its feet, and none of them really did. Too many games in two leagues on either side of the world is catching up on some, but a great week to look forward to another 12.00 mini’s Donnybrook, would you believe the third best team in the league.

The two bad misses just before half time were the difference between this games scoreline and the last time Sevco came to Parkhead, all that mattered before and after a respectable draw where you don’t play well is the CL money.

missles launched by both sides, really ugly scenes, i dont want that to ever happen at celtic park.

    CORKCELT

You are one of the most level headed guys on here. Who would you replace in the current team?

  13. Just home from the game.

I said to my son just before kick off that I wouldn’t be that disappointed with a draw.

Our team selection and formation just isn’t working against them and today again proved it.

We are a lightweight team , with no gameplan. We also look very tired.

    Poor performance all round.

But still delighted that we’re 6 ahead with 3 to go.

    Mom Calum, by a mile

  14. SAINT STIVS – did you think Hatate played well today? I noted over last few days you were sticking up for him while I have been adamant he should have been dropped weeks ago.

He was terrible today. Offered nothing.

    Hope he is now rested.

“dearie me, usual nonsense typed during the game.”

    ————————————————————-

But, but……….I deliberately stayed off the blog. Never posted once!

  16. Just back from the game.

    Second half was absolute shite.

    Not for the first time.

Hatate should nevere be near a Celtic strip. McGregor vanished.

    Not good enough.

  17. That’s 3 games in a row against them that Hatate could have been hooked at halftime and the manager kept him on.

Needs to be more ruthless with decision making.

  18. Iniquitous, The 2 full backs & a Victor Wanyama type midfielder would be my immediate thoughts.

Obviously we have to wait & see whether CCV & Jota sign permanently.

We have a host of wage thieves to offload,

I’d hedge my bets after that,

  19. For those that know me

I have never attended a game involving Celtic and today’s opponents

Is it Sevco or as as now known Old Firm.

    Wife had my ticket today

She comes home, asking how does the Sevco beast goalie, get away with kicking the ball into the face of a Celtic ball Bhoy

Never showed that on the tele

Hope the young ball Bhoy reports this to the polis

“This game, as like many others recently, will be about taking the chances that we always create. Do that and it’s in the bag por cierto”

As I said, before the game!

    por cierto

  21. Bhoys settle down..

    Think where we were.

We are on the cusp of something special enjoy.

Think of what Hrvstki Jim just said earlier.

    D :)

  22. A year ago tomorrow we lost 4-1 to old firm fc… the league had been lost a long time ago, we were 25 points behind and we had no manager…

Today we need 3 from 9 to win the league… I’ll take that

  23. Hate gave the ball away a lot but Celtic By Numbers also credits him with the amount of forward movements he initiates so there’s a balance to be struck. He did not play well but he did swing in the cross for Jota’s headed miss near the end of the first half so Saying he did “nothing” is an exaggeration.

Our midfield- apart from Callum- struggles to cope with robust tackles and a lenient ref combo. There is no doubt that we do not have the balance right between defensive and attacking middies but only the summer transfers can sort that. Callum is amble DM, Hate is a busy DM and Nir Bitton is a cool, unruffled DM but none of them are near the complete package as a DM who an screen the defence.

  24. I predicted a draw and am happy with that. We should have had it wrapped up by 60mins, 2-0 or 3-0 but we didn’t and they really should have knicked it

Ps learned a new word today- vomitory

Pps had an impromptu breakfast with CQN all star Almore this morning which was the highlight of my day. Total gent

  25. IniquitousIV on

Tremendous tension at Goodison. Fans biting fingernails to the quick. Staring relegation in the face, when bitter rivals Liverpool might win it all, and up 1-0 to European Champions, with 16 minutes to go. Fighting like terriers.

  26. I’m very happy with the result, and at this stage of the season, it’s about scorlines not performances…por cierto

  27. The curse of identity politics — Part 29.

Rampant stupidity of the youth with a fetsh for the 70’s.

Cooking up a storm in the hard of thinking.

AP tricks to provide the spark.

Why on this day of days do we have some low intensity street theatre between the GB and the Fan*ies with their monogrammed sweatshrts?

Why on this day of all days do we have a bottle throwing competition between our hard of thinking and their hard of thinking?

Given the issues that happened a month ago in Govan — why would these events suddenly take place after a gap of 45 years?

Who takes the minutes when the Fan*ies have a meeting?

    Is he called Steve?

    Does he drive a Transit?

    Always have money for beer?

Short hair and a strange accent?

Regarding the Fan*ies — someone is blowing smoke up their erse.

Someone wants to cause divisions in the support / cause trouble at our expense

Coked up zoomers vs establishment friendly plot — Discuss ??? !!! ???

Was this the narrative they wanted in case we won the league today?

No matter the celebrations just a few videos with the Fan*ies at their snidery best?

Someone really doesn’t like us — today tells us how much effort they are willing to put in.

  28. Hope the Celtic ball Bhoy is okay…that ANIMAL McGregor wants locked up.

What happened at Full Time with the Hun support…did they try and get onto the Pitch ?

it was handshakes all round at the end with players etc..did the Hun fans cause aggro AFTER the players had left the Pitch ?

  29. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

A little bit perplexed reading back some (by no means all) comments.

Today was a good outcome for us.

    Respectfully, consider this …

If, at the start of the season,

    When we went 3-0-3 …..

And were forced to play wee boys against Midtjylland ……

And then lost first two in EL group …

…. you had been told ….

We’d be six behind at Christmas

We would suffer serious injuries to Jota, Kyogo, Giakoumakis, Turnbull, Ideguchi to name but a few

    …. And were then offered

    A League Cup win

    European football beyond Christmas

SIX clear in League with 3 to play?

    What would your answer be?

    🤔

    This is just the start.
