P.S. Rather than bemoan a less-than-stellar performance from Broony (he was not poor just not one of our stars), I will take heart that so many of our “non-leaders” (McGregor, Forrest, Edouard, Sinclair, Ajer, Gamboa, N’tcham and 2nd half Tierney) stepped up to take this leadership strain. Those guys have learned from being around Broony. Scott did not have to “do it all” last night as he ahd to last season in dragging a team up by its bootstraps.

Spot on. I reckon the players you mention have found a confidence by Brendan and Broony.
I was of the opinion for the last couple of season that if Broony didn’t kick a–e a mediocrity could set in with certain players/games.

Having watched Broony a few times this season, i would say he’s still getting up to speed, i thought he got better as the game went on last night. One moment summed him up for me, Ajer drove forward and went for the one-two with McGregor, the one-two was intercepted to gasps from the crowd, however as the RBK player drove into the space Broony was standing perfectly placed to disposses him, which he did, and then made a simple pass and we went forward again, cue applause from the Manager. It’s the little things that matter.

My dad was with me last night. First time at CP since the 2-2 Inter match.
When Broonie did that I said to him, that’s what you can’t see on tv (NB Mr MiT!!)… the number of times he anticipates and puts himself in the right place at the right time to cover.
It’s as great a talent as the much vaunted ‘poacher’s instinct’.
