Who was the guy that went to Brentford,ala,Gilmour style,for 1 million,but was worth 10 million,( Ibrox Klan exchange rate ). Never heard of since.

The only way I can see it could be done.
Might be an idea if bus convenors checked passports when people get on the bus as well. Save hassle at the stadium and help reduce transmission rates on the busses, which otherwise are mobile plague pits.
Burnley78 – From earlier thanks, the wee man’s team endured their 1st defeat 1-0 his team rattled the bar twice and the CF done a Sebo twice from 3-4 yards out over the bar…Darn. they should have won by at least 2.
He is a sore loser and after the team got the post match talking to by their boss, the Grandson stormed off in a huff.. :) :) heart on sleeve material.

The hit rate of Lawwell was 1 in 4 at best with signings a d probably worse with the ones he let get away for fighting over a few shekels. He clearly seen that Dom was making progress on the signing front although he tried to slow it down and probably used Bankier and Nicholson for this.
Lawwell doesn’t want Ange to succeed as it will only highlight his incompetence with Lennon ; equally a rookie in the transfer market will only highlight the mess he made of that over the years. McKay who did not use him was having success compared to Lawwell. That coupled with plans to modernise meant that Bankier and Lawwell had to take him out and they have done it.
McKay may not have been the right guy but he was a level above Lawwell whose own interests always came first. Nicholson a limited yes man who would also have slowed the legal side down. Ange is on his own now and will need to watch his back.

Medium to long term, the structure and direction of our club must be the main priority.
We had made minimal off field changes from the model of last season.
2 key personnel changes.
That is now 1 key change.
At one stage, we seemed to be looking at Howe and his entire backroom team. There was also talk of bringing in Harkin as DoF.
We were then advised that McKay and Ange were enough to take us forward.
Where are we now?
What went wrong?
Why was there a parting of the ways?
Presumably, Dom had KPIs to deliver against. What ones were expected, but not delivered, in his first 10 weeks in situ.

You make many good points and ask pertinent questions. The departure of DMcK is a puzzle and I agree “it is all very disappointing”.
The comments of Ian Bankier when addressing Dom’s departure in which he describes his (interim) successor Michael Nicholson as a “team-player”, seems to imply that Dom was not. Add this to what Ange, in his media conference said, that it was not Dom who was soley responsible for his recuitment whilst also praising Michael Nicholson, and the dots could be joined to suggest that DMcK was the odd man out.

A lot of us are disappointed in Dom’s departure.
Pretty sure no one who posts on here knows why he left.
Ange has stated publicly that he is focused on his job and not to assume Dom was responsible for him coming to Celtic.
He has also stated publicly that he knows the acting CE Nicholson, who was supportive of him. He also says of his tenure at Celtic “at no stage has the board, or anyone else at the club, got in the way of me doing anything.”
I don’t know why Dom left.
Perhaps he had second thoughts. or perhaps he was not up to it. I hope if he left for family reasons that all goes well there and soon

By his press utterings Ange seems happy to be at Celtic and excited at the prospect of building a great football team.

Can I also add a bit about the medium to long-term structure of the club.
It has always been my view that in the DD and PL era, and after the financial suicide at Ibrox, the philosphy has been thus:
We will, as custodians of Celtic, always protect the security and financial health of the club. We will always endeavour to put together the best squad that can be afforded within these parameters and and hope for success on the field of play.
An awful lot of people on here telling us this and that without one iota of fact or evidence.

A CEO leaving after only 10 weeks is a vanishingly rare occurrence.
And a CEO remaining in the building after retiring isn’t a common thing either.
Trying to pretend that this is normal and not a cause for concern simply isn’t credible. It’s hun like in its deference.

The way Ange will describe anyone with whom he still works will always be a little more guarded. Less controversial. Less critical.
He may well mean everything he says, though I think there is an inherent difference
We need our decision makers to make some big decisions again.

More or less. The main difference is that in the above scenario they are just checking that you have a valid ticket.
In the new situation they’ll be scanning the QR code on your phone or paper certificate. All being well, that should take a few seconds.
Problems arise when the occasional supporter doesn’t have a QR code or their phone has run out of battery power.
Also, do supporters claiming to be under 18 have to provide proof? Turning supporters away will be the acid test.
Interesting times ahead.

Of course firm assertions cannot be made because none outside of upper echelons of Celtic Park are party to the whole truth – however it is reasonable for interested supporters to draw inferences from what is in the public domain.
The official Cetic statement and Ange’s interview fall into that category. The comments regarding Michael Nicholson and Ange’s point about his appointment are significant, in my opinion.

He was announced months back and obviously appointed on his record at Scottish Rugby. Therefore to have cut things short so quickly must be down to his ten weeks in charge

There was a start date for requesting a vaccine certificate with QR codes. If you ordered your certificate prior to Friday 3rd September it doesn’t contain the QR code.
Certificates requested on or after that date contain the QR code. You can re-order or download to your phone.

Vaccine Passports won’t work on a European Night in the Billy Stark.
