Great bit of psychological play there by Djokovic, smashing up a failed weapon in front of his “enemy”. Had an immediate effect of upsetting his opponents train of thought but it’s a risky strategy to use up so early in the game.
Once you leave the Celtic way things aren’t too pretty.
Been saying it to friends and family for a while now.
Maintenance badly needed…

To expand a little on the tennis bloodgate discussion ….
Raducanu looked flustered for the few points prior to her slip which caused her shin to bleed.
She was breathing very rapidly ( almost hyper ventilating which caused me to comment that she may have a rerun of her problem at Wimbledon….see below)
(“At 4-6, 0-3, after 75 minutes’ play, the British 18-year-old wild card exited No.1 Court for a medical timeout for an apparent stomach ailment, later clarified as ‘breathing difficulties’. Minutes later it was announced that she could not continue, and her unheralded odyssey of heroics at Wimbledon 2021 was over.”)
Her shin was bleeding, she needed attention, it did not look too serious and I expected the medic to sterilise the wound and put a Band Aid on it.
The medic was definitely not someone you would want as a First responder if you had a life threatening injury.
She faffed about for an eternity whilst Emma Radicanu continued to breath rapidly.
She eventually found what she was looking for in her first aid ‘suitcase’ , applied the bandage ( badly) by which time normal breathing had returned ( and her opponent had lost her focus and momentum)
I think the medic is neutral so not gamesmanship.
I think it was fortunate for Raducanu, and unfortunate for Fernandez.

Great to see you on tonight. I was just thinking about you the other day as I hadn’t seen you on for quite a while.
I think what prompted me was a photo a mate took last weekend on an Osprey swooping down for a fish at Antermoney Loch. He captured it brilliantly too!
Don’t buy that. Only play left for Novak is to get aggressive……if he has the legs.

Novak wants to have the legs but doesnt have them. He’s expelled all his energy and couldn’t compose the shots. It will be a quick end now.

Sionnaigh – that would suggest we’re looking at building a new stadium- frankly I can’t see that happening. For a start it would suggest our Board had a strategy beyond “keep ticking along and rely on our relative wealth (though season ticket sales) to be competitive (but not too competitive – we se to be all in on the Dave King “ideal scenario is Rangers win two titles in three with Celtic winning the other”) and issue some some hotel moon beams to explain why we’re accumulating money”.
It doesn’t look like that’s the reality unfortunately- a toe in the water this summer but the Board seem to have decided having a strategy and plan to modernise is all just too hard and will cost a bit of money so let’s not bother…

There is a strategy in place concerning the east end of Glasgow that would be better left well alone on a public forum. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

Cheers for the reply Sionnaigh – I can buy that we’d piggyback on other work (as opposed to doing it proactively). Will leave it there!
All the best!

Poor show from the crowd there but Medvedev too much in a hurry, needs to compose a finish.

PETEC Don’t call me a liar ,and a Zombie ,it was just my assessment of how the Stadium was in need of a makeover,As being a Zombie you are barking up the wrong tree,60 odd yrs watching Celtic season ticket holder and pay as you go fan,and that’s all I’m going to say ,

From Budapest, Hungary, Holy Mass for the closing of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress presided over by Pope Francis in Heroes’ Square. Recitation of the Angelus, following the Mass.
That’s a given – I didn’t buy Ange as a good fit and was selling Clemente who signed Jack Hendry (though they are top of the Belgian League again) 🤦♂️🙄😂

Medvedev did what he could not do in Melbourne in January, which is get out in front and stay there. Had the game to do it tonight though!
Rod Laver still reigns supreme, not on numbers of majors won, he was barred for seven years between one grand slam to another in 1969, and had he not have been he would have won more than 20. Well done Daniel, but Novak not done yet….
Novak is a class act after a match in victory or defeat. And great to see Stan Smith handing over the trophy, big Stan had a not too dissimilar game to Medvedev, powerhouse serve and great ground strokes back in the day. Well done NYC look forward to the day we can all go back there.

Jimmynotpaul , thanks for your post at 8.59 clearing up the rules in tennis regarding injuries which draw blood. The umpire made the correct call.
It was not the same as what was happening years ago in English rugby when players were using small bags of fake blood to get games stopped.
jimmynotpaul
Had Emma had another championship point would she have taken the serve?
There’s your answer.
Sad news about the hit and run if true.
Our signing policy needs to look at the mental and behavioural aspects of players as well as their footballing ability.
First blood to Medvedev 6-4
