    Good post. I’m an optomistic person I like to think but I just don’t see any progress. I’m so dissapointed in our lack of energy, our lack of will to press with energy and win 50-50s and most of all our lack of willingness to take responsibility and ask for the ball. Scott Brown was our best player but his ability is limited, he’s our best player because he doesn’t hide.

    I’m being told that the drink driving / alcohol blood count maximum is being reduced in Scotland in December. Almost halved.

     

     

    Question: (Probably covered in this site already.)

     

     

    If someone from England is convicted in Scotland of being over the drink-driving limit but at a level still legal in England, what happens?

     

     

    And all variations thereof…….

    Only the 6th time in my 34 year adult life we have made it past Xmas in Europe.

     

     

    We have only won 3 trebles in my life. 1 in my adult life. We are still in with a chance of this too.

    Sad to say we may be losing another great Celtic man soon.

     

     

    My father in law has been in hospital for a fortnight with breathlessness . Spoke to him at 5:30pm before leaving for the game and he was looking forward to getting out tomorrow.

     

     

    Had a heart attack shortly before 6.

     

     

    I was walking to the game with my two sons when we got the call from my wife.

     

     

    We turned round and headed to the Victoria.

     

     

    His heart had stopped for a couple of minutes and the doctor said very few people survive. But he did.

     

     

    However he is now no longer able to get the operation that was being planned to replace a valve.

     

     

    He’s 81. Absolute Celtic to the core. An extreme pessimist when it comes to how we would get on. Handed down his season ticket to my 19 year old this season.

     

     

    Only a minor miracle will see him past the next week. He’s in a lot of pain due to the CPR and paddles.

    Considering Efi’s recent lack of confidence I was dismayed to see him in the team,McGregor was also a surprise starter .We started like a team of strangers,but showed a lot of character to get back in the game L.G.was unlucky not to make it 2-2.

     

    Pity about the late goal, still not a bad performance against a very decent side . IMHO.

    Didn’t say I was happy with what I saw tonight. That was tonight and I am watching the recording just now. We’ve played other matches in this competition and our results have enabled us to progress.I’m just a bit hacked off with all the hunnery that appears on here on match days. I’ll make calmer and more sober observations tomorrow.

    Just back. Tonight proved what RD has been saying is correct. Fitness and pace are essential in the modern game. Speed not only physical but mental. Allied this to basic technique and you have a team capable of competing with the likes of Salzburg, Legia and Maribor.

     

    Too many of our players lack fitness, lack pace and more worryingly lack basic technique that allows you to pass the ball to a teammate when under pressure.

     

    Stokes, Mulgrew, McGregor, Matthews, Izaguirre, Ambrose, Commons are not good enough to compete against average European teams we are now losing to on a regular basis.

     

    Thank god we’re not in the CL this season, we’d have been humiliated.

     

     

    At least come the last 32 we will have Guidetti eligible, Lustig & Denayer back, and a fully fit Forrest. Add a couple of signings in January to those four and we’ll be a different team.

     

     

    PS Soriani and Alan’s combined transfer fees is the same that we paid for Pukki or Scepovic or Bangura or Balde. It’s not just spending money, it’s how you spend it!

    Happy Thankgiving from the USA! Succulent turkey (read lamb) about to be served by my lovely Italian/Mexican lovely better half.

     

     

    Celtic in Europe after Crimbo, I’ll take that thank you. After a nightmare start, we adapted well and played well against a sugar-daddy funded team. Reminds me of a time when we played a defunct shower dressed in almost baby blue…

     

     

    James_Oregon if you’re lurking, I lost your number with an unscheduled mobile change. Could you shoot me a text, would be great to catch up, and Happy Thanksgiving!

    The support carried the team to a performance tonight, without the backing the team would have folded. I feared for the team after 5 minutes, we were getting battered.

     

     

    We were poor for the first 25-30 mins.

     

    Improvement came when the support found one thing to get behind and shout them on.

     

    The improvement was mostly through effort and grit, silky football was sparse.

     

    From either side actually.

     

    Having said that, I am not dispondant, I have said all season this will take time, there will be ups and downs as Ronny gets his system bedded into a team to which it is alien.

     

    Plus sides?

     

    The team did dig in, the team spirit was good.

     

    Downs? We lack 4-5 players who can play Ronny’s system(at least).

     

     

    Happy to have qualified.
