Everyone driving in Scotland is subject to the 50mg limit, regardless of where they live.

    —————————————————————————-

Aye – but if done in Scotland, is he still allowed to drive at home in England?

  2. Nye bevan. The 4. 2 season team was dreadful. But they were up against a Grieg inspired and managed rangers who were worse.

It was still great to support them as they gave their all. As our lot did in 2nd half tonight. Better that for me than the sutton and Harrison post HL team of mercenaries that blew it on Black Friday and again in bratislava.

  3. We beat Barca because we had a team capable of doing that. We don’t have a team capable of that now. People need to stop blaming the guy that’s trying to change it and focus on the reason why we don’t have a team capable of beating Barca playing positive creative football.

Lennons defensive tactics won us that game with players who were capable of doing it. We now have players capable of neither defending in that manner or attacking.

If you train the players to play defensively then that is what you will get. If you want attacking football you need the players to play it.

I hope Ronny wins his wee battle with Lawell.

  4. Captain Beefheart, the question is that we just don’t know what the plan is, we can all speculate and complain about the lack of investment but the long and the short of it is that we are in rude health, albeit financially. We are not exactly slumming it in football terms and you have to have belief that we have a reserve that can be used to meet important challenges.

All is speculation, my question was what would you suggest. We don’t need to blow millions right now so why would we? But should a challenge present itself, I would like to think that we have the resources to meet those challenges in a manner that our (domestic) challengers never could.

As for Europe, it’s always just a bonus, greater budgets in bigger leagues have spent more and done less.

    No,same jurisdiction in that respect.

You won’t see me driving in Scotland, that’s for sure.

  7. NA2

They are, bank rolled to beat the band.

The Red Bull should have given it away for you me thinks.

You know, Red Bull, the company that doesn’t have a single product that it sells………not a one, now, who in the world would have thot that a company that don’t sell anything can be so powerful, tis a strange world so it is.

  8. We’ve downsized so much that we have just ran a very good team very close without at least 3 of our first choice starters

Saltzburg hammered the team (Ajax) that made us look like statues in the CL last year

We’ve got European football after Christmas – that’s something I don’t remember too much of before all this downsizing

And as for the idea that the solution to getting into this position would be to go back to lumping long balls up to another Sammy

    I despair sometimes

  9. i am lucky and auld enough to have

lived thro, the years when we took

euro semi finals and finals for granted.

but then we had the 80s and 90s when

    we never went beyond xmas.

so maybe we should just be glad that

over the past 14yrs or so we are back

    to achieving this.

o.k we are nowhere near the power we

were in the 60s and 70s but just look at

the money behind a lot of these so called

    smaller clubs now.

just take salzburg tonight backed by

red bull and spending fortunes on players

the russian clubs have countless millions

so unless we can play in a euro league

or some other league where we increase

our revenue it will get tougher to reach

the latter stages of euro competitions

  10. Disorganised for the 1st 25mins, then managed to get a foothold in the game. 2nd half much better but still didn’t work the keeper enough. Hopefully big JG signs we need someone who can hold the ball up, griffiths effort was good but not the answer at this level, as for mc Gregor least said the better. VVD showing tonight once again that he thinks he is better than he actually is, £8million in January? bite their feckin haun off.

  11. world peace is none of your business on

is there any chance celtic could get everton or tottenham in the next round as i think a more british type game would suit us at the moment.none of those two frighten me as both are pretty average.

Strangely,my licence has been in Scotland for two years now. I keep forgetting to bring it back with me.

  15. Firstly back from the game and thought we played well for parts although we were 2 0 down before we did. Thought Brown Izze and Ambrose played well. They were the better team and have 2 classy forwards. Strange group after 3 games I felt we had not deserved a point but had 7,in the next 2 I thought we deserved 4 but only got.

Big big game on Sunday we have not done well after eufa games need to win. Looking forward to it.

How long is Lustig out for?

You are charged as per the laws of the country the offence is in. Where ever you are from.

  16. Just for the young ones…

    ‘Celtic are mediocre’…

Well yes this is true but excepting one exceptional epoch and one riveting spasm Celtic have been primarily mediocre for most of my 51 years watching them.

Its not a sin and afflicts all clubs sometimes its what you do and how you plan to get out of it which is the test. I don’t think were passing the test at the mo.

  17. Captain Beefheart on

    Some exciting possible ties.

Moscow would be enticing, Kiev would be a chance to avenge 86-87, Feyenoord, Inter…

    Yep, it will be Inter.

  18. On a much more exciting note the best gin ever made (in my humble opinion) is about to be launched by Scotland’s newest distillery just in time for St Andrews Day.

Oak.Gin. Limited edition barrel aged. Don’t miss it !

  19. nye bevan’s rebel soldier.

Tonight? Not good. I’m challenging ‘mediocre’ as an assesment of this side. I think, faults and all, we are better than mediocre. We’ve played more matches than tonight’s game.

  20. I guess we get a 3rd placed team dropping down from the Champs league in the knock out phase? Is that a certainty, or is the draw more open than that?

I believe there are 3rd and 4th ranked teams in the Champs League this year, that would struggle to handle Salzburg.

I guess our chances to go further will be in the luck of the draw…

Sad to say we may be losing another great Celtic man soon.

My father in law has been in hospital for a fortnight with breathlessness . Spoke to him at 5:30pm before leaving for the game and he was looking forward to getting out tomorrow.

Had a heart attack shortly before 6.

I was walking to the game with my two sons when we got the call from my wife.

We turned round and headed to the Victoria.

His heart had stopped for a couple of minutes and the doctor said very few people survive. But he did.

However he is now no longer able to get the operation that was being planned to replace a valve.

He’s 81. Absolute Celtic to the core. An extreme pessimist when it comes to how we would get on. Handed down his season ticket to my 19 year old this season.

Only a minor miracle will see him past the next week. He’s in a lot of pain due to the CPR and paddles.

    Jim Donnelly. YNWA.

Will take a minor miracle for him

    ############################

Just heading to bed and your father in law is in my thoughts and prayers, God bless him and give him strength…

I’m Offski but glad I seen your reply, don’t miss anyone including me, my intentions are for a better Celtic, our club. Everything from the plc is the result of a deliberate corporate act of downsizing since around 2004. The Celtic world is no longer about supporting my/ our team, it’s more about that bloody stupid strategy that I can see reduced our support by about 40%.

Some effin plc, some effin plc strategy, some effin plc bonus.

I want our club back in the hands of Celtic Supporters.

Not long in from game. Disappointed to have lost as I thought we deserved a draw but due to a very sloppy start, described absolutely accurately by Big Cup-Winners above, we gave ourselves a lot to do to retrieve the game but, most importantly, we fought and didn’t capitulate.

Bottom line is I am delighted that we have qualified.nwell done to the players for gaining the necessary points to do so. We will have European football post Christmas and let’s hope that we hang on to Guidetti, Van Dyke and Craig Gordon until the end of the season ( at least).

I was smurprised that young McGregor is still chosen. He needs to be rested and brought back later in the season. I thought Charlie, my favourite player, was poor especiallially early in the game. I would have played Forrest for McGregor and Bitton for Charlie. If Forrest tired, I would have replaced him with Tonev (who played really well when he came on). Brown was brilliant and I thought Griffiths was very good. Efe did well at the back and Virgil wasn’t so good. All in all, we’re through. YEE-HAH!

That’s the time today that the world lost someone so precious and heaven gained an angel. She lived her short life with unbelievable difficulties but endured those difficulties with a smile. She was loved by her parents and all around her. She won’t suffer any more. RIP wee Evie. God bless.
