Like you I am not a medical man, my Mrs reckons it shouldn’t hinder him if it has healed, the fact that it hasn’t fused 100% shouldn’t affect him as long as it’s fused

Still undefeated and against probably the 3rd best team who imho played well

Ref, being the little clown that he is had an effect on the game but we sghould have won

There are three saints players who are always lucky to get away with just a booking against us, Davidson, Paton and McLean. I wonder why they try so hard?

  4. Surprised we had Mark Wilson on CTV today, wonder what he thought of the Paton tackle in the 2nd half??? You do wonder if some at the club live in a bubble

IMO it’s a shambles, we gambled with qualification, to deny that is foolhardy.

    ————

    How did we gamble?

Did we have 3 CBs at the start of qualification?

Would you be confident signing an unknown when the injuries hit and playing him in these games?

  6. JF, from the Celtic blog.

“We have to complain about that decision.

Collum can’t be allowed to get away with something so ridiculous as that, it’s just unthinkable”

There won’t be any complaint, James,as, if a now 5 year old club can be “going for 55”, anything’s “thinkable” in Scoddish football.

Kilometers obviously, crack on with the rugby sevens approach to football, I’m sure it’ll catch on…

Do they have sweepers in 1970’s rugby sevens??

I agree with TET, we always gamble with CL qualification.

If Brendan is the real deal in management that we the fans believe he is I am sure he is not happy with fielding players out of position at both the front and the back of the team. Surley he wants new players in and knows the players he wants to strengthen the squad . Yet the window closes on Thursday and no Centre Back or Striker or Paddy Roberts has been signed I have to assume the CEO is keeping a tight lid on our spending and my concern if Brendan feels he is not being supported he will leave and find a team that will give him 100 % support. H.H.

Under M’ON and NFL the teams generally played poorly and were off their game after European away games where jet lag wouldn’t have been a factor ie games in France, Belgium, Spain etc.

I’m convinced it’s a psychological rather than a physiological response.

The only credible complaint can come from Rodgers, he’s the only real person of power in the game at the moment.

PL complains or DD or Celtic then it’s just big bad bullies.

    Rodgers has clout.

You have to make up your mind has the CEO been put in his box or not?? To many fans on here love to credit Rodgers with the good stuff and PL with the bad. Are they not on the same team?

  13. TH

We gambled cos Brendan said last year he wanted another CB, he said he wanted to get another CB in during the Jan window, he said again in March he wanted to get players, including a CB in early for the groups.

You can defend the board all you want, I reckon it’s a shambles.

Reading back and imho excuses are weak

It like watching golf coverage on TV these professionals have everything in their favour and yet they moan.

Today for instance the guy from Bournemouth scores a cracker, pundits say it’s hard to hit ball on the half volley, ffs, playing on a carpet and no worries about a dodgy bounce.. over payed ex players telling it how difficult it is , aye right…

Then listen to those clown commentators on golf

Chancers the lot of them making irrelevant and unsubstantiated comments

  16. Just in from game, still to read back

ML never a centre back , why oh why do we persist with not playing a proper centre back and have one or two sitting on bench, was BR trying to make a point re NB, too many players looked tired , our tempo was poor first half, following our midweek match.

CG has been an accident waiting to happen for long enough now , he has been very very lucky in games gone by ,it has now caught up with him , he is a goalkeeper not a sweeper.

JH , still to make up my mind, feel he is trying to hard to please, needs to relax more.

Lost count of the number of corners we have that all came to nothing, time to change it about and try something different and give someone else a corner to take and get our number nine in the box.

    Rant over.

Charlie Nicholas legend in his own mind

Then Savage on BT sports , god help us

  18. BR is the boss. He made a comment yesterday that some players want to wait on CL football & he doesnt want that type of player at the club.

To me that reads……they have asked some players to join & they are hedging their bets.

I have total confidence in BR.

  19. Gerryfaethebrig on

    TET & TGM

We gamble with CL qualification every season for one simple reason…. it’s hard to get players to play in Scotland am afraid we canny blame the board, we are now in the CL and it’s still a struggle, enjoy what we have, we only got Lubo because of Dr Jo and we only got Henrik because of Wim Jansen, our emotional tie to Celtic means flip all to professional footballers, easy way out for that dam Peter Lawell :-) (who only does what Dermot tells him by the way :-)

  20. One draw and my goodness, you don’t half read and hear some nonsense. Brilliant effort today to get back into it, we could and should have won it. Fantastic start to the season overall considering the injuries, travelling and pressure the team are under amongst other things. A couple of weeks now to get one or two more in and others back from injury. Then we go and again and we will get going that’s for sure.

  21. The_Huddle

If no complaint has been made about the Big Cheating Case, then don’t expect any on the Wee Cheating Cases.

It’s what we signed up for, Brendan included.

  22. As for Willie Collum, dreadfully poor performance. And Murray Davidson, no sympathy from me. A hammer thrower like his mate Paton, if you live by the sword…

  23. Gerry

With respect that is bollix, The Balkans, even Spain & France, are full of players who would bite your hand off to play for Celtic.

Go down the top league in Spain the players are on little money in comparison to what we could-will pay, they would jump at the chance to play for us, this they won’t play in scotland is a convienient excuse.

    HH

  24. Cosgrove was saying on Radio Scotland that he reckoned Collum didn’t see the forearm smash on Tierney and that there would be trial by TV. The studio panel thought it was a good laugh. Well, if he sees the recording, he will have to eat his words Collum is looking directly at the incident. Collum will have to be demoted for that alone, never mind the other “honest mistakes” he made.

I don’t believe he is incompetent. He has made too seriously bad decisions to our detriment. He is a cheat, to please his masters and further his career. Pathetic.

  25. Stairheedrammy on

Terrible shame about Murray Davidson. Not that he got injured, just a shame he is Murray Davidson.

  26. PCS

“Collum is looking directly at the incident”

    **************************

And away from it at the same time, of course.

  27. If no striker – on loan or otherwise – is to be signed before Thursday thus removing the possibility of, eg, switching to 2 recognised strikers during a particular game or replacing an exhausted No 9 during a high intensity CL game, then we can only hope Griff is guaranteed to remain fit.

I’ve no great interest in the Scottish national team but I assume he is in the squad for two upcoming games. Pull him out now if we are merely going through the motions vis-a-vis covering the striking position for crucial CL games.

Imagine we kick-off against PSG with a false No 9. Only at Celtic could that happen.

  28. Tim reaper – sounds about right to me.

In some ways we can regard the season so far as our ‘pre season’. We did what we needed to do and then some with a squad that has been depleted somewhat.

The focus must shift to the boardroom and the transfer market now. The break has come at the right time. Has broony retired again? I hope he doesn’t go to the Scotland squad. Him and Scott Sinclair will benefit from a rest.

I’d settle right now for Roberts or similar and maybe a.n. Other. Coetzee is coming I think. I’m not sure we’d buy another CB unless we lose one.

Centre forward would have to be a committed squad player or a guy coming to the end of his career and come in and do a job when griff and moussa are injured or rested.

We are in a good place.

You’re the one talking shite, there’s plenty of players we’ve approached that won’t touch Scotland.

The SPL is a huge barrier when signing players.

The CL is a big carrot, and we’ve only just made the CL so expect those players who were swithering to now consider signing.

It’s not coincidence that Rodgers said what he did this week about signings and the CL.
