  1. I am Neil Lennon e El Juarez Bravo on

Do any of the critics really – and I mean really genuinely – believe that Celtic won’t be SPL champions come May? Anyone?

  2. A few folk with memories like goldfish.

Pants today granted but St Johnstone hardly looked like worldbeaters. 2 points off the top with a game in hand and a game against Aberdeen who sit close behind. We can play Aberdeen next week as a practice set up for Benfica.

What we have his season is the luxury to relax and play. Lets not ruin it by carping about some dropped points when we are still well ahead of what we thought we could achieve this season.

  3. sixtaeseven: Wanyama! Watt!!! and a consolation goal for Messi on

Lenny himself said after the Barca game that he was still learning.

I think getting the balance right between the bread and butter league games and the glamour of Europe is still something he and the team have got to get to grips with.

Hopefully it will come sooner than later.

It certainly looked a great team on paper before the game.

In retrospect, maybe he should have changed the team completely: we’ve got the squad.

Getting the balance right is still part of the learning curve.

There will be other days like this.

    We need to be patient.

  4. TET

We’re all annoyed in our own way

I am concerned however …we’ve had teams in the CL before …their league form was better than this …perhaps we have too many injured to freshen it up

    Big game next week …

  5. MoNs team had same problem.

Team performance drops but more important opposition’s rises.

Both Killie and Sts played really well. Give credit where due.

  6. That would have Rod in tears too . . .

Lenny has said on 2-3 occasions that he would drop players who underperform in the SPL, that he wouldn’t pick them against Barca et al if they didn’t show up against Kilmarnock, St Johnstone etc.

    Players are calling his bluff.

  7. From the Heart Corkcelt. Nice, me too but i am getting really fed up with the flatness at the weekend of late and its defo attitude not ability and not as confident as some with the league in the bad talk, we’ll see next week but we are making hard work of this already.

    KLV

  8. Mullet and co

The home performances in the league have been abject …it’s not about a few dropped points

  9. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

Sorry ghuys but we’ll be brilliant next week and everything will be ok!

  10. Our home and away record in the SPL is the same -W3 D2 L1.

At home we have scored only 7 goals, but 15 away.

Home form needs to improve drastically!

    HH!!

  11. think the death of rangers fc has had the effect of people thinking we just need to turn up, wheather player or fan, today is just another example of that. it might take some time to sink in but it will sink in: we are in a league championship race with, hibs and aberdeen, killie are not a kick in the a@S of us either.

dundee have taken ‘thems’ place in the league and i would fancy hibs, aberdeen and killie to take max points from that fixture meaning these clubs have better chance of getting some consistancy and with that come opportunity. simple fact is this, if celtic want to win the league they’ll need to up it some. but the myth about 50 point league wins, i hope is dead.

on the plus side, a strong argument can be formed about the merits of a larger league with fewer games against every team and hopefully the end of a strucutre that just wants as many old firm games as possible. the only way scottish football will ever change is if it changes the gread that has brought it to the brink

    just saying like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

‘WE HAVE ALWAYS SUFFERED EUROPEAN HANGOVERS!!! ‘

We should rest the players who play in the CL games for the succeeding domestic game.

Let all the players know in advance that’s the policy.

  13. 8 high pressure champions league games …

    Think about it FFs !

Who’s gonna slag us off ?

    The Orc fans??

The Orc fans with a spanking new shiny club with no history?

The Orc zombie fans who’s diddy team were defeated by stirling ?? Technically THE worst team in Scotland??

  14. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

    Tallybhoy

    Naw!

    It’s in the bag already!

    Are you a hun?

  15. pauloantony – where the feck did i say sack lennon ? geez peace yerself. we have the bigegst squad in the league, the highest paid players, no one doubts that we will win the league, but perfromances like that will affect attendances. the more we play like that against pish teams, the more their confirdence will grow. crap like hibs, st johnstione etc will all think they can come to celtic park and take some points. Good teams overcome european hangovers.

  16. Amazing goal from Bang Bang, strange that he couldnt trap the ball with us yet does something like that.

  17. Paddy Gallagher on

God forbid we ever get to the stage where the opposition might think they are worthy enough opponents to take some points from Celtic.

  18. People are saying we have the squad, but we haven’t. Any of the lads not involved last Wed with any bit of first team experience are all midfielders. Throw them all on and you would have a midfield of, McGeouch, Twardzik, Ibrahim & McCourt. Would that make sense. Re Defence & Attack who exactly would you put on, unless you start throwing on kids. We do not have enough fit players for any meaningful squad rotation.

  19. Joe Filippis Haircut on

With young teams comes inconsistency also Broonie and Sammi are not 100% fit Hooper Forrest Izzy and Stokes are injured. We are in a phase of building a team we are not the finished article. It maybe that we have to sell one of our promising youngsters for big money to allow the club to go out and purchase a couple of quality experienced players to help our youngsters.Lennie and his team will know that our league form isnt good enough but they have to go with what they have available we dont go from beating Barcelona to being a poor team in only a few our resources are being stretched to the limit it is now that Lennie and his back room staff earn there money do they let one or two of there youngsters move on in order to have funds to strengthen the club or do they stick with what they have and look for the injuries to clear up this is a time when good managers can become great while ordinary ones lose the plot.H.H.

  20. PFayr

Teams in the spl are doing to us what we did to Barca.

We are really not as good as some think we are, we have the capability to raise our game for the big ocassion, we don’t seem to have the ability to raise it for a run of the mill spl game.

That is the reality, they are not mentally strong enough.

I agree with ernie, don’t play them after a euro game.

    Play the hungry kids.

  21. spikeysauldman

    Naw mate…

Good teams run Barcelona close at camp nou

    Brilliant teams actually beat BARCELONA.

Good teams win championships as we will!

Brilliant teams can come from 15 points behind to win championships …

Good teams can turn £600k players into £16m+ ones

Good teams can win champions league games AWAY from home ??

    So???

    Let me ask ???

ARE WE DOING AS BADLY AS YOU SAY???

  22. Philbhoy

We WILL win the league – everybody knows that.

…but not by 30 odd points if we dont improve our league form.

I’m not a hun. Why do you ask? Are you one?

    HH!!

  23. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

If we get to the last 16…………………….and win the league………….

Look at wee dick advocatts coupon when banguras goal hits the back of the net ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZVDWGGuN8Q&sns=tw

*1st thing I noticed, really despise that wee arrogant dikeplugger

Also noticed Guus Hiddink with the team that beat Liverpool, wonder how far we would have gone had we got him instead of MON

  25. And for the record!

    Although disappointed

I’m glad the league is tight so far!

    Might encourage fans to attend

Thus staving off the Armageddon that the SMS promised!

  26. The SPL will take care of itself.

We don’t need to find form until after the festive period.

This Celtic squad is lacking overall consistency BUT is picking THE most crucial matches to hit peak form – the CL games.

Given a choice 3 months back I’d have chosen the current situation over romping the league and getting pumped in Europe.

You have to take the rough with the smooth – it is a requisite of following Celtic.

Of course Lenny and the players won’t be happy with today’s dip and recent others. Do you think they’re laughing at you now as they sit in the dressing room sipping chamers?

So man-up and accept the facts of the matter; voice your concerns, yes, but stop before it becomes petualnt whining.

Otherwise, get to work on your ‘We Deserve Better’ banner…

  27. From deification to mere mortality. This is our team, our club, ffs, not some circus beast to be wheeled out to perform to perfection or be severely chastised. There is, after all, constructive criticism.

The season has a long way to go. With all our commitments there are bound to be peaks and troughs. So far, the troughs have coincided with our league confrontations. Having seen how we play elsewhere I feel confident that this will be corrected.

We played Barça and brought them to heel. I admire the Catalan team, but let’s face it, they are raised on a diet of expectation, entitlement and a swagger of righteousness, with a budget to make yer eyes bleed.

We have raw talent, flair and disappointment in equal measure and a budget to beggar paupers, in a modern footballing sense. (Remember, too, our injury list, and the toll taken via our Herculean efforts midweek.)

But, look what we achieve. We love this club. It’s in our d.n.a.

    I implore you, don’t despair…..not yet.

    HH!
