if this was a 1 off it would be a hangover – this season in the spl we must be feckin alcies

We need to take a long hard look at our tactic’s and coaching particularly at home this season.
They have been abysmal.
Why the continual use of one striker when it was an obvious failure in our previous spl game at Celtic park.
Their goalie had nothing to do and when he was asked on the only occasion he failed.
Lack of creativity and forward movement is glaring.
I posted recently that i felt we had a coach who prefers to hold formation and capitalise on opponents mistakes.
This works fine in Europe but our lack of creativity and positive movement against average spl opponents leaves us impotent.
When was the last time a visiting spl goalie had to work hard?

Good teams keep winning.

Thought Lenny made the mistake of playing Sammy up front, the first half was just plain stupid.
On the other hand this is the backside of European midweek matches, the team were tired butabove all no pace.
We had no threat down the left and Matthews does nothing with the ball when he gets down the right.
We have at two more games in Europe before xmas after that we really need to go on a run in the SPL.

As I said after our last flat performances in the league,I’m geting sick of saying that we just had another bad day at the office.
We need to up our performances domestically, but we also have to realise tha we have a wee bit of breathing space to develop the team.
The balancing act is obviously proving difficult.
If we have to take some short-term gain for long-term gain, that’s fine.
As long as it works, which I’m sure it will.
The other option, playing the same players time and again, running them into the ground, and losing fringe players because we didn’t give them a shot at glory, isnae for me. Tried that,it didnae work.
We’ll get it right,bud-hopefully your long trip next week won’t be in vain!

We are focusing on ensuring European football after Christmas.
This means extra income and may also mean we keep some players who might otherwise want to to move on to more lucrative leagues in January.
The league will be won between January and May 2013. And it will be won comfortably in the end.
Trust Lenny, trust the Bhoys!

To be honest, I understood the Killie game after the Barca heartbreak, but today we should have carried the momentum forward and trounced St.Johnstone. I think we must go for two up front or 4-3-3 in home SPL games, Watt and Miku should have started together with Commons and Sammy supporting, with 2 CM’s (ie no need for all three of Ledley, Wanyama and Brown as they’re not as attacking as players like KC or Watt)
Remember, we also threw away leads against Hibs and D.Utd, so a lack of concentration isn’t helping either.

Where were they they last few days ?
No on the blog till we get a bad result.
The over reaction is just that, an over reaction.
I wish I knew the answer, ernie might well have a point, play the second team, let the players have a mental rest, they are on a hiding to nothing imo.
They are a good bunch of players, mentally they are not there yet, so play the hungry ones, and if they don’t get a result fair enough.
I just find it incredible, that after the result a few days ago, so many have decided the team are not good enough.
Tis all about opinions, and imo, the league will be won handy enough, that is all that matters.

yeah, spot on with all the money and attendance talk, people pay good money in tough times for these so called heroes to go through the motions, Good point made about the German teams too, there is no excuse for that today (again) If you pay the money you have a right to be angry at that, little effort made today and really after Wednesday night they should have been flying after that. It most certainly was a poor disappointing performance. Brooney had no spark and you would wonder if he was well enough to play at all. Yes other teams did win in their National Leagues after a Euro game but they all have bigger squads and I wager none of them espended more physical & mental energy then our Bhoys in midweek. Ideally after a Euro game you should have the capability of playing 5 or 6 fresh players at the week-end but with our injury list we just can’t do it. I cannot and will not slag off any of the team after they gave me one of the greatest nights of my life last Wed. I don’t know what that makes me, but its how I feel. Totally confident we will win the SPL at our ease.
