  1. Poor attendance today but perfectly observed minute’s silence.

Pre match Gazebo was hoatchin’ right enough!

    Most still high from Wednesday.

Great to swop tales of CL brilliance.

  2. Dissapointing today ,however it is my own opinion that Wednesday was a bit overhyped.During the many years watching Celtic they have dispatched some of Europes finest including reigning Champs(Milan) a couple of years ago.I was not comfortable with Celtic being given the David role in the David and Goliath battle.Seemed an insult to me and not one of the most amazing results the Sport has seen as some were reporting.

Great game but for me not nearly as good as 4:2 & 6:2…..Opinions my own of course.

The players will be sorted when the king of the GAA arrives as performance director..

They will realise then that certain things in life, diet , alcohol consumption will be scrutinised at every second whilst professional athletes. To me, looked like the players needed a cup of coffee and a wee lie doon Thu, Fri..

It’s just a thought.. I think they’re in for a wee shock and attitudes to fitness – all aspects.. Might just change..

PFayr. Surely there is a biggar difference between Barca and Mallorca the result tells us that wither your being obtuse or not.H.H.

  5. Not long back from the game, and won’t hang about to sully the blog in the twilight of the Barcelona CL achievement, from which joyfulness shouldn’t have been deflected.

What I will say is, how Celtic can make back to back performances like that is a sorrowful mystery, and I’ll be interested to hear Neil Lennon’s analysis, on the antithesis of our previous game, and where not a single supporter in the stadium was remotely surprised when St Johnstone took there deserved point.

Some dreadful individual performances shouldn’t go unmentioned including Commons, Ledley, Brown, Samaras, Mulgrew and Miku, because if you take the praise, you’ll take the critique won’t you?

It’s bad when the GB can’t be bothered, and nobody even coughed during the minutes silence.

    I rest my case CSC

Our bhoys that are running on empty should be pulled from meaningless internationals this week. We need to prepare for Pittodrie and Lisbon.

Anyone who thinks the league is in the bag needs their head looked!

We have a lot of work to do to win this thing.

Unless Aberdeen, Dundee Utd et al are just going to “roll over”.

We are a long way from being the finished article……..although we are on the right road.

Im going with the bookies. I wonder how many non Celtic fans have bet on their own team winning the league.

  9. Neil made many changes to the line up for the Killie game. We lost and he got pelters for failing to play his best 11.

Today he picked a strong line up, Few first choice picks were rested and we dropped points still and Neil gets pelters for not making wholesale changes.

I want to see Celtic win every game they can and I was not impressed with our energy levels today so the team and management deserve some criticism.

I still expect to win this league comfortably as neither Aberdeen nor Hibs have the squad or experience to last a full league campaign. I am not too bothered whether we win the league by 5 , 25 or 50 points so long as we win.

The closeness which Hibs and Aberdeen and St. Johnstone and ICT are bringing to the current league tussle all helps to defeat the Armageddon narrative that the mainstream media want to push desperately.

Being 2 points behind Hibs after the first quarter of matches is not a good position.

But it sure beats being 15 points behind Sevco.

Only criticism I would make of Lenny, was not bringing Dylan on sooner for the largely ineffectual KC.

Buried next to the ‘Long John’ in Daldowie Cemetery a stone throw from Celtic Park. Did you hear the roar on Wednesday Da? The memories are ours mate, love ya :-))

  12. Celtic players must be able to play in Europe and the SPL. Perhaps CL bonuses should only be paid if the following league game is won. :-)

Seriously, home league matches have been poor this season and virtually everyone has followed a European match. At least there are only two CL matches left.

  15. In an act of tremendous generosity, Charlie Green has offered Hearts £500,000 to stave of imminent threat from Tax man. Only catch is that they have to forego additional £300,000 owed THEIR acquisition of Lee Wallace.

Celtic have announced that Donegal GAA Football manager Jim McGuinness is joining the club as a performance consultant.

In a statement issued on Celtic’s official website, the club say McGuinness will be based at Lennoxtown and will help in the development of the club’s young players.

McGuinness said he’s grateful to Neil Lennon for being given the opportunity and he’s relishing getting started towards the end of this month.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me on an individual level and I’m very thankful to Neil Lennon for giving me this chance and bringing me into the club,” McGuinness told the official Celtic website.

The news brings to an end weeks of speculation surrounding the Glenties man’s future. He met with Celtic officials after attending Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Barcelona in Glasgow and reports in the national media this week suggested a deal could be worth as much as 150,000 euro a year.

Just what impact the appointment will have on his role with Donegal remains to be seen.

“Obviously I work in amateur sport and the opportunity to work in professional sport in any capacity is a wonderful chance for me and one I’m very looking forward to,” McGuinness said.

“My role will be based on developing the younger players in the club, development and Academy players that are U20 and that level.

“It’s really about trying to work on every single one of the players on an individual level, trying to develop them in several areas, something I have experienced often in the past.

“You are really looking to create a finished product that is good enough to be pushing for the first team and creating a stronger squad at the club.

“We will hopefully look at every single player as an individual project and move them forward as best we can. We will revaluate every couple of months and try and move them forward and give them the best opportunity to develop and grow within the club so they can put their best foot forward in making the ultimate step up to first-team football.”

Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, says he’s delighted to bring Jim on board. “We are absolutely delighted that Jim has agreed to join us. He is a first-class coach and manager and a high-quality individual who has achieved so much already in sport.

“We feel he will add real value to the club in terms of moving our young players forward and in making sure they develop in the right way for the benefit of the Club.”

Just back in. Short on creativity is an understatement. Beram looked more like it when he came on and I thought Tony should have started plus either Dylan or Paddy to make something happen. Neil said after the game just how leggy some of the players were so it would make sense to introduce fresh legs from the start would it not?? I was there two weeks ago when we spanked that lot by playing quick snappy football. Today was rubbish. HH.

  19. Just back from the game and read a few posts. I know the players are professionals but they are human beings first. I have no doubt they all tried……just like the GB and the crowd tried after the Community Huddle about 20 mns in. But we couldn`t sustain it. Our hearts weren`t in it. Sure, we wanted to win but we were kind of hoping it would just happen. It didn`t.The contrast between Wednesday Barca and Sunday St J (with all due respect)was just too big. Anyway, it is simply a cunning ploy to ensure the SPL remains competitive. We`ll win all the games after the break in front of full houses Home and Away.

  20. Didn’t get to see the match today from Abu Dhabi as meetings ran later than expected. Perhaps it’s just as well as the doom merchants are out in full force. As much as I am disappointed in today’s result I just fulfilled a lifelong dream. On Saturday November 24th I will get to introduce my 7 year old daughter to Paradise. The older 2 TimsinOhio children have seen our beloved hoops in the flesh but only in Canada and the USA. Not to sound better than or offend anyone but this called for something special so I booked 2 directors box tickets for Dad and daughter. I cannot wait to see her face when she sees the spectacle that is Celtic Park in all its glory on a Saturday afternoon. Personally I don’t care if we ” win, lose or draw ” but for her sake I’d prefer a win. Another one is born into the Celtic Family. I hope she gets how special it is.

  21. Evening all. We were poor again today. Think the manager has to shoulder some of the blame. Why did he not leave the defence alone? We had no pace on the wings? There was too much predictabilty to our play. Why did Kayal not start? Our captain looked tired throughout. Why take off Miku?

We got exactly what we deserved from the game. We laboured all afternoon. And not for the first time this season….

  22. After the Herculean shift the bhoys put in the other night they would have been completely knackered, we have to cut them some slack, we have a good team yes who will on occasion put in some outstanding performances, but its not going to happen every week, enough to win the SPL no question, and maybe even get us to the last 16 in Europe although the Europa is still a big possibility,

but we have to stop this witch-hunt every time we fail to hit top form, too many assume we are a brilliant team and will knock over whatever opposition is put in front of us, not going to happen particularly when you look at the average age of the squad under a young manager. Personally I’m still revelling in wed nights performance, now that was brilliant.

Drove down today. Left about 10 minutes early (apologies to all the traditionalists) and had no problems with the traffic.

Right in front of me, a photographer , using those massive lenses, was taking photo`s of the Green Brigade area during the minute`s silence. Be interesting to see if anything is made of their absence.
