  1. Seen primal scream in Freemantle last night. Bobby was brilliant and had the crowd eating out his hand. Swastika eyes, moving on up and come together were the highlights for me.

Home and bed for 12.30am alarm set for 4am .

Stagger to tv room whilst rubbing the sleep from my eyes to watch the game.

Off to work this morning buzzing about the performance, brilliant Bhoys!

Ps good comment neganon2, I don’t agree with everything you say but you make a lot of valid points

  2. Sorry Paddy – might be Charly going forward for the man love. Can’t wait to see both of them in the team.

  3. Hoop hoop Hooray on

Dunno if it’s been mentioned yet.

    Ntcham turned 22 last week.

That’s older than dembele musonda tierney ajer edouard and kouassi .

They all played their part tonight.

    Outstanding.

  4. Art of War

You’re absolutely right about Calum. Both him and Jamesie were great tonight. Every time Calum got the ball, especially in the first half James ran into space and Calum duly delivered the ball on a plate. Wonderful performance.

  5. If not Scottish Callum McGregor would be appreciated and cherished rather than doubted and chastised. A very European player.

  6. WOW- couldnae see that performance coming? The formation threw everyone , McGregor and Kouassi in forward roles. Not a failure but i thought Ajer at 19 , was great, a huge plus was Dembele getting good early touches , and dominating their CBs.We should mix up the tactics domestically.Wee Charly? He touched the ball once on halfway line,a couple of shimmies, 4 Zenit players posted missing. His ball to Callum was top class, Callum’s finish was better, a volley at knee height on his bad foot……) A memorable night, and we have a chance next week.

I thought Dembele was immense tonight in winning balls and his general hold up play. Great team performance throughout.

  8. Magic… wonderful :-)

No reading back, just on say how wonderful our team were tonight. Our young team…. pass marks to all, the auld heids as well.

Thought the ref let them away with more than us… and how the guy who fell after fouling wee Jamsie and was helped up by the ref wasn’t booked is beyond me. They had a few cynical fouls on Kouassi and Brown yet he seemed happier to dish yellows to us…

Wee musonda was also halved after taking out 3 of them before we scored.

I didn’t think Lady Luck was shining on us tonight as nothing seemed to break or way… some passes just being too quick or too short too…

Our Callum…. what a finish son… please add to your away goals tally next week :-)

Thought Edouard looked good when he came on too…

All in all…a splendid night in paradise and a goal and a clean sheet to take over there…

    Magic… mon the hoops… COYBIG

  9. Macgregor shaded KT for MOM with his beautiful strike on the half volley. Brilliant attacking midfield display from him.

KT was immense, constant threat going forward, some good deliveries too.

Solid in defence and cleared one off the line in first half.

  10. SANDMAN Definitive Ratings :

‘When he writes ‘definitive’ y’all need to listen up, m######f#######’. S. Jackson

“Shoosh, Dad. The pc-sensitive mods will bin this if you say, m######f#######,’ m######f######.” O.Ntcham.

‘Apologies in writing, please, Sandbam.’ C.McGregor.

    DORIS: 10/10 –

Did everything asked of him. Never misplaced a kick or looked as anxious as his opposite number – Zenit #99 ‘Shitebag’, to his defence.

Doris produced a splendid, underrated and instinctive save – the sort goalies love to get right – low down at the front post from the Zenit opportunist’s toepoke to save the jerseys. Confidence in big CG’s replacement rolls onwards to the Winter Palaces.

    KT: 10/10 –

Perpetual motion. Kid’s a tiger and was merciless against his much-lauded opponent. Roving forward to create mayhem at every opportunity. Just great.

    Jozo: 10/10 –

What we hope for, class and timing and control; precise with his touch, commanding with his organisation, immense under pressure, a stalwart for young Ajer to play off. Fully fit consistently, we’d have a real star central defender there in the Baresi mould.

    Ajer: 9/10 –

Slaughtered the bhoy before for being cumbersome and ill-disciplined on and of fthe ball; he was excellent in distribution and timing his forays tonight. Listened to every word Jozo had for him, made his own calls correctly when needed. Kept. The. Heid.

    Lustig: 9/10 –

Yes, he’s finished/injury-prone/Legs have gone… blah, blah, blah… Ha, ha ha- super mental Swede defies the CQN experts yet again with a performance so staunch, goat-pumpers everywhere are turning in their pinnies. Experience trumps perceptions.

    Broon: 10/10

Like. A. F######. Boss, as the young people say…

    Kouassi: 9/10

Likened himself to a Lion. Dogged them like a cougar in a parking lot (ladies…). Picked off every loose ball, nipped heels and stiffed their advances. Perfect compliment to Broon.

Ntcham (Son of Sam) : 9/10

Moth. Er. F. U… 1 off for unusually poor dead-ball deliveries.

Free to roam. Side to side. Patching play here and there, making the angles, finding space to hurt. What a classy bhoy we have there. As the great ZZ said – ‘If you watch the game, you may miss Ntcham. If you watch Ntcham, you see the whole game.’ Work it out, Confuscionists…

    McGregor: 10/10

Stop it, son. Every time I write you off you deliver in spades. Best performance since Bayern, and another mega-goal. Brilliant half-volley take to finish a stunning move. Dynamic. Dangerous.

    Forrest: 8/10

Took some punishment. Too much. Lack of protection from officials, but this version of Jamesie gets back up and keeps driving at them. Becoming relentless; Once the final ball starts paying off, becomes devastating.

    Dembele: 9/10

Woke up. Thankless shift agaisnt class defenders. Byut put himself about, rumbled them incessantly and we got the pay-off as he rampaged along their backline to play a part in the goal. Back on form? Desire renewed? Time will tell.

    Charly: 10/10

What an impact. What a celebration; the JOY. What a magical we fella. Top-class ability on show to make the goal, from the wizardry in his own half to the inspired clip to Callmac on the edge of their box. But he’s too lightweight to make it in the SPL apparently… Good God.

We have a year and a half to watch a bhoy with magic dust and dynamite in his boots thrill to play in the Hoops. Weep, Huns. Weep like the needy entitled biatches you are.

    Brendan Rodgers: 10/10-in-a-row.

That’s what he’s here for. Started with the formation that smacked the filthy racist Edinburgh wannabee-Hun vermin right back into their rabies containment facility. Finally found the balance of pragmatism and gallusness that works for Celtic in europe? Next week will be a BIg tell for us all.

    OVERALL: 10/10

JOY. And more JOY. Celtic punching above their weight in Europe. Playing like a team of blood brothers, playing like a unit of committed devotees to the cause. One formidable force nullifying the threat of an expensive, primed and lethal opponent.

We couldn’t have asked for more. We got spoiled. Brilliant.

Absolutely delighted at that;a great result and from the very limited TV highlights,a great performance.

Haven’t seen nearly enough of the game to quibble with The Legend Who is Sandman’s ratings, but I doubt if anyone who was there would disagree!

Any time the players are struggling a bit in a match, they should just think back to last night. That’ll put a spring in their step!!!

  12. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    ARTOFWAR 1122

I’m delighted with the result, mate. Delighted that we did it at all, even more so that it was with a mixture of youth and experience,home-grown and bought players.

That’s usually a quality mix-providing the players are of sufficient quality!

And,yes, there’s no doubt we no longer have a Bangura or Amido type on our books. That’s to the credit of the management. But-and I’m not posting this to start an argument!-a great result shouldn’t be thrown in our-mine and NEGANON’s-face,and certainly not with the hyperbolic £26m jibe.

You might think you’re the happiest Hoooopster on the planet, but you’re only equal first with every one of us. We’re ALL delighted with that. But criticising your club isn’t a crime anymore than supporting it is.

Anyway, round about the same time I was fighting my corner on here,I was also in contact with a couple of CQNers. Both have suffered recent personal losses, neither of them would I have met but for this site. Like a great many people,a great many great people in fact.

THAT is the beauty, the core,of this site. The arguments, the disagreements, for me they are healthy. Rarely are they ill-tempered,just different means to the same end.

You know that if you put three Celtic fans together you’ll get ten opinions!!!

On which,if I was you,I’d get another opinion about your written warning. And I’d fire off a letter to my union at EVERY level about your dissatisfaction. Frankly, and I’ve done it twice,I’d find another union.

    HH,Happy Hoooooopster!

    Oops,missed out

    “Which they clearly are.”

Should have been my third paragraph before I mentioned Bangura. Sorry,Wed-to-Fri is a draining few shifts!

Rumours that Pogba put in a huge wage demand when he heard how much Sanchez was being paid.

Presumably overlooked the fact that he was basically a free transfer, swapped for an out-of-favour player.

Mourinho seems hell-bent on managing Man Utd and not a bunch of prima donnas, and Pogba should take note. Mourinho destroys Pogba’s ego,and his media fans too.

I did try to c&p it,but it took too much space with unrelated stuff. Sorry.

  15. Good Morning

Excellent interview with Valeriy Reingold,Russian football legend.

“Sankt Petersburg did their best in Glasgow. The problem is there is not many players in the team who are quality footballers. Celtic impressed me very much. They have young talented guys. They were absolutely dominant all over the pitch. They won one on one, They were very dangerous up front. Diffference of few classes when you compare how we played up front and in the middle and how they played. The good thing is we are still in the game and have the chances to beat them over two legs. We can do this but many things must change. Is Mancini the man who can do it and change the game? Maybe he is that man but the question is with who he can do it? With those who he has now in the team?

They did right when they sold Dzuba but they should buy quality replacement. “

    Enjoyed that last night:-).

    My motm was Ajer.

All I wanted last night was our pride restored,

  18. The platform for that win last night was our possession/passing game .

    61% v 39%

    We also made 472 passes.

Noted that arsenal made over 700 passes in their win. Brendan gonna have to get his act together if he wants that Arsenal job :-)

  19. Arsenal fashioned 17 attempts on goal from all their possession.

    We mustered 12.

Of course we were up against a much better outfit.

Anyone else think that we were a bit more direct last night ? Felt DDV used the ball differently to Craig G .

Seemed to want to go a bit more direct on occasion.

  20. Good morning, friends and a Big Happy Friday from a damp and breezy East Kilbride.

THIS is how it feels to be Celtic. 3 games away from the quarter finals of Europe ;-)

  23. Apart from all the obvious ingredients, one of the things I like about us in Europe is that when I disagree with a refereeing decision i just think the decision was wrong and not one of the `honest mistakes` so prevalent in Scotland.

    Cheerio for now.

    Jj…

I said last night about the ref, he must have got a wee phone call from someone at half-time, I thought he was a different animal in the second half, dare I say more Scottish in his decision making.

He let 2 Zenit players that had been subbed walk all the way off, but chased after Moussa to hurry him up then he booked him.

And how many yrds did thon wee trumpet steel at throw inns.
