I still think all this ‘roller-coaster-ride’ stuff is a smokescreen for the fact that, Brendan dizny know how to be cynical and, park the bus when need be…..imho.

A cute Celtic team who didny gie the ball away and, knows when to close ranks, boot the ball oot the park when need be and, would be well versed in how to take cute fk’s that don’t bore the nickers aff ye and, have James Forrest playing like Arren Robbin, beating players, making chances, scoring cute Celtic goals and, looking happy, also, Jon Collins would be showing the necessary levels of Celtic-cuteness to turn Efe into our best defensive mid-Ya Ya esque type of player that would have the ‘giant’ CL clubs q-ing the length of London Road to sign him but, only to find that the, new Jubilant-Jobo-Hunskelping-Choir had stolen Big Efe’s heart and that he’ll be staying at CP till he looks like Morgan Freeman.

At a loss as to how the Hun mind works. Celebrating our group of death draw as it will give them ( in their deluded minds) the upper hand in the SPL.
So how does that work?
The theory is that we will be:
1) Distracted
2.) Tired
3) De- motivated
The reality , as they will find out soon enough, is likely to be somewhat different.
The ‘ distraction’ will amount to 6 games against some of the best teams on the planet . Played in front of sell out crowds, in a raucous atmosphere, this is the reason Celtic can attract the Toure’s, Roberts’, Sinclairs’.
The players will learn more in 90 minutes v this standard of teams than in 38 games v SPL opposition.
Tiredness will not be a factor. The squad is large enough to ensure the likes of Brown will be able to rest throughout the season.
Demotivated? Is the theory then that we would have been super motivated by a failure to qualify and an ‘easier’ EL group?
We will at least one more quality player before December, probably 2. We will be stronger, fitter and faster, than all of our SPL rivals.
The experience the younger players will gain, Tierney, Roberts, Dembele, etc, will see them become better players .
The manager will learn more, and of course, to top it all off, financially, we will move from miles ahead of our domestic rivals, by so much more, that we will be out of sight by Feb.

Brendan will have every player given a role to carry out to the best of their ability . It will be about chasing, harrassing, closing space, and basically working as hard as the can to make it difficult.

I think there is some truth in that.
I remember a great 2-2 at Paradise v Ajax, with Cruyff in his second spell there, in the eighties.
We were playing Murderwell on the Saturday, and I was thinking at the time that, after playing against the skill, pace and movement of Ajax, the game at Fir Park would seem easy.
We won 7-0, if I remember correctly.
That 2-2 game, I can still see that brilliant, arcing cross that Cruyff put in from way out on the left wing, in front of the Jungle, with the outside of his right foot.
Past his magnificent best by then, but still capable of showing glimpses of his genius.

I usually have my phone on silent at work; but that all changed yesterday with ZTP filling the air every so often.
