Yeah we need to start well tomorrow, We do start slower under Brendan as we tend to see how the opposition are going to play then we feel our way into the game but you tend to hand the other team the the chance to get at out from the off.
Need to get the midfield right balance tomorrow.

Boring Football Coefficient Bit warning
Celtic’s current coefficient for yesterday’s CL draw made up of 5 previous years :
11/12 – 5.550; 12/13 – 16.860 ; 13/14 – 6.650; 14/15 – 7.800; 15/16 – 3.600; Total = 40.460
This year we’ve 4.725 to date replacing 11/12 entry so current running total = 39.635
Points are awarded in Group stage at 2.0 for a win and 1.0 for a draw so a win puts us just above where we are at the moment.
Our problem would have been following season when we would lose the 16.86 points for the ‘last 16′ season of 12/13. If we did not match that total then our coefficient would drop significantly making our qualifying route harder if we became an ‘unseeded’ team.
Will be interesting to see the new coefficient calculation, especially with Peter Lawwell being on the Executive Board of the ECA, who proposed the new system.

A win a loss a draw in the CL ? It’s the C L and we are a pot 4 club let’s not even up for debate IMO, .
I’ll take every game as it comes, with or without new faces at the end of the transfair window, one, two, new players at this stage of the game I’d hardly think will make any difference at the moment, but will stand us in good stead for next season, maybe we only need to bring in one new player in but sign two as one is already their? Who knows, I’m happy with the draw and won’t get carried away, any plus now is a bonus, failing any plus the experience will do no damage.

Sorry for the delay in answering you, been ‘oot’ to use the parlance.
You make some good points and asked your questions politely – I suppose that suggests you are not a troll (only kidding).
As you suggested yourself the definition of a troll, and subsequently ‘trolling’, is rather subjective.
Can I first deal with one of the points you made, namely…….

I hope you can take me at my word that, having the finances, the time and the appropriate Geography, I do indeed toddle along to Celtic park and use my season ticket to support the Bhoys, and have done so for years.
What is my interpretation of a troll? Like yourself I am quite prepared to read opinions proferred by posters whose views are not mine, with whom I disagree and with whom I find little affinity. In particular I do not enjoy reading posts which more or less say the same things day after day and sometimes hour after hour, offering little information or inspiration. Such posters are not trolls, they are just people who have differing views from me – however, they have equally as much right as anyone else to post on the blog, within the rules of course.
My ‘definition’ of a troll on CQN narrows down to the poster(s) who frequently/regularly offer some apparently Celtic-minded views then drop in some awful anti-Celtic stuff, almost as if it is an after thought. Now of course many of us have included remarks that could be construed as anti-Celtic in someone else’s view, but to do so on a consistent basis takes care, a bit of planning and, in my opinion, a degree of cunning. This is never evident at first, it is a pattern that becomes discernible over a period of time.
Not wishing to feed the troll of my reference earlier, I would ask you to consider what happened yesterday and has continued this morning. At a time when the blog should have been in celebratory mood, a poster was able to get a very negative reactive discussion going, causing two regulars in particular to fall out, then to get other posters taking sides, and so the blog was, in my opinion, ‘trolled’ very successfully.
When I logged on this morning and saw a continuation of the fall out from yesterday I could only conclude that the Troll was pi**ing himself laughing at causing such discord and harmony at a time when all Celtic supporters, no matter their views on the Green brigade, Palestine Flags, UEFA fines, Peter Lawwell’s heated driveway, should have been in fun, celebratory mode. That was why I posted my “Don’t feed the Troll” comment.
I hope this long-winded post goes some way to answer your question, though I am quite confident that you will have your own, alternative views on the matter, to which of course you are entitled.
Still some misunderstanding/ no understanding or simple and muslim prejudice re Palestine.

I assume qualification for Celtic will be harder in the CL as there will be less teams coming through the qualifiers.
32 teams 16 from the top 4. Automatic qualification from France, Holland, Russia, Portugal, Ukraine and maybe a couple of others doesn’t leave much leeway for the rest of the leagues.
I had a look at NewsNow Celtic and noticed an E-Tims headline about Celtic fans in uproar re Champions League package.
I opened the article and was shocked to read that Celtic are charging £180 for the 3-match package. The author slaughtered the board for its greed and even suggested Celtic will be out of contention by the time the 3rd game is upon us. In fact he even suggests that we are out before the first game.
£60 per match? Unbelievable, I thought.
Unbelievable is the right word, because I read on to discover that Celtic had not in fact announced the cost of the CL package. The author pointed out that £180 was their estimate of what will be charged.
I always thought E-Tims was a pretty dire website but this just takes the biscuit. It’s also very telling that the author believes Celtic have no chance in the group.

So I get to the 9th hole having hit way too many shots and thought ‘there must be more enjoyable things to do on a day off. Deceided 9 was enough and headed home realising I can get on the ole CQN site during the day for a change. Then I read back from half 8 onwards – torture!

The amount of crap that has been generated since the flag display is unbelievable.
The Green Brigade deliberately set out to flout uefa rules to make a political point. They did this in the full knowledge that it would bring punishment down on Celtic. That in my opinion is not on. If they wish to highlight the plight of the Palestinian people then do so in a manner which does not hurt our club.
The subsequent fund raising to “match the fine” is in my opinion again another, very successful, PR stunt. In effect another two fingers up at Celtic and Uefa. All the good work done in collecting the money still doesn’t excuse deliberately hurting Celtic to highlight their political views.
The Green Brigade have been a credit to Celtic on many occasions but they also seem to believe themselves above mundane matters such as rules and fines others pay. Funnily enough they demand that Celtic should speak up for them when they suffer under the OBAF act but forget loyalty is a two way Street.
Also we seem to have reached a hierarchy of acceptable protest. If you hate the board, Peter Lawwell and his remuneration package, any of our directors and shareholders then you can accuse them of everything and anything and be hailed a hero on here. Don’t believe me what about the people who believe Celtic deliberately lost the league to keep rangers afloat or that our CEO deliberately scuppers our chances in Europe to swipe the money saved on transfers himself. Meanwhile criticise the Green Brigade and the mob forms in seconds.
I don’t agree with a lot of what Tony Donnelly posts, I’m sure he’s gutted to read that not, but he does not deserve the barrage of abuse and hate directed at him. Even to day he has been ridiculed as old and stupid, in the past his elderly mother was dragged into the attacks on him.
Tony has on occasion been bang out of order too and been rightly pulled up for it, but it seems some others slip through the net of critiscm.
On a different note
Ernie Lynch see this rule about automatic entry to CL for top 4 nations that we would just have to accept if we want to play in their competition what makes it different from the rule on “provocative displays” or were you being ironic?

I looked at the new calculations for the CL Group stages and it would benefit Celtic, Basel and Sporting Lisbon. In fact, our co-efficient would be higher with the addition of points for winning the big cup in the past. Pots 2, 3 and 4 under the new rules:

So the changes on the CL and Europa format drops the country co-efficient and uses past performance. It also takes into account previous wins in European competition. This may be much more beneficial to us
