Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

Was around the same age when I was at a Scotland game and Brian McClair was booed coming ON to the pitch- this was not becuase he played for Celtic but because he USED to play for Celtic – he was at Man Utd at the time!

Suffice to say I subconsciously stopped supporting Scotland then and these feelings crystallised when I got a bit older and found out why it had happened.

I know Australia had a whites only immigration policy for many years – maybe they still do. A mate of mine, a very fine marine engineer, was refused a work permit on several occasions in the 1980′s because he was Nigerian

That obnoxious policy was canned early `70s.

..because he was Nigerian? Sez who?

Non white immigrants represent the bulk of immigrants to Oz today.

There`s a fair amount of garbage pretending to be factual about Australia and it`s immigration policies.

My personal experiences can vouch for the fact of non-discriminatory immigration policies.

Don`t allow anecdotal evidence to fool you.

    Even mine.:-)

Genocide was wrong word that I used. I apologized for the accusation if somebody felt accused. If you have not seen that, then I apologize again.

As for your questions regarding Aussies contribution into liberating Poland and other countries, as I stated in my first post I might be and I’m ignorant.

My knowledge about this matter is similar to yours about Poles/Jews relation pre and past war.

You mentioned the pogroms and put the link. I assure you the history of Poland is more complex than that.

    Why?

I could write what the Nazis did to my family but better to say what happened after war when the Communists installed their government in here. Peace time? Yes, many people would say that 1945 is the year we started living in peace country. My father was the youngest son in the family. His oldest brother was jailed when came back from stalag in Germany. Second oldest brother was jailed for being the brother of the one who came from Germany and for being the enemy of the so called democratic government. Both spent 4 and 5 years in a jail. My father and his other brother spent few years in the ruins of Warsaw hiding from the Commies. My mother’s oldest brother was shot near his house for being the enemy of the Communism.

What it has to do with your posts? Maybe you should see the whole picture, which is not as simple as you put it here.

The conclusion of above is that I’m not smart in the history of Aussies and you are not smart in the history of Poland. Call it as you wish.

It’s a picture of the Poles in your posts that are (were) anti-Jewish. You are partly right, but it does not make you right. Not a different country from Australia, France or GB. As for the war times, we were occupied by the Soviet Union and the Nazi Germany. Like I said, all the Jews, the Poles tried to survive.

You want to make a judgment on the Poles who did not show enough support to the Jews?

Imagine that. You have your house in Australia and the family in it. There are many occupant soldiers around your house. There are cruel occupants in the municipally. The soldiers kill everybody who is the Jew or everybody who give him bread or water. Somebody is knocking to your door, your daughter opens the door and tells you that is a Jew in the door. You go there and the Jew asks you hide him 1 year, maybe 2 maybe 5 years. I don’t expect the answer what would you tell him but maybe you could tell me where would you hide poor Jew? Not a stupid question, macjay1. Of course without fearing for lives of your dear family.

Now judge the Poles and post the links again. Easy. Or maybe you want to start from the first documented anti-Semites in Egypt six thousand years ago?

Is not it strange that you demand an apology from me but you write:

I have heard of no,absolutely no,assistance being provided to the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto.

    macjay1

I could put here what I heard but I’m afraid it would not make a credit to me or anybody I would like to accuse.

And I think I need to reapet where from this discussion come from.

    From another poster.

“I think you’ll find that more people have suffered and died in the name of religion than any other cause or doctrine in the history of humankind, during which Communism is a fairly recent phonomenon.”

I made a reply because that statement is ill, with no facts to back them up. It’s wrong statement.

    I’m closer to Gordon_J view.

“Millions of people have been killed by those motivated by political ideology. Millions of people have been killed by those motivated by religious ideology.

Debating which is worse is like arguing about whether it is worse to be stabbed or shot to death.”

Therefore, I hope we leave the subject behind.

It’s worth remembering though that the Man Utd debt is in fact the Glazier’s debt which they transferred to the club.

Man U are carrying the Glaziers, not the other way round. That’s what differentiates them from the other clubs with big money owners.

    +++++

Yes, but it is that very thing which imperils them. Without the leveraged buyout several years ago, ManU would have been able to match Citeh’s spending of the last few seasons from their own profits. Instead, the millstone around their neck is costing the club around £70m a year.

That the club is keeping the Glazers afloat is largely irrelevant in that the debt is still there, attached tot he club, with little chance of it going away any time soon. Add on to this the fact that a large amount of ManU/Real/Barca income is tied very strongly with having glamorous players, the success they bring and having very strong marketing/merchandising based on both, you can see why they are on quite dodgy ground.

Look at what a few years of sustained success has done to the Chelsea following around the world – in my younger days I couldn’t identify one lad who would name Chelsea as their English side – a efw West Ham lads, Everton, Liverpool, a couple Man U, Spurs, Arsenal, but not one Chelsea fan.

Man U might soon, just might, become a little too stretched, if they cannot remove that debt from the club.

It is not true that clubs have disappeared – this is a fallacy.

These clubs STILL exist but they play in Serie D (the 5th tier), and below.

They are not classed as full-time professional clubs – to do so they have to be in the Seconda Divisione (4th tier), or above.

To be admitted to at least the 4th tier clubs need to fulfill certain criteria – financial, stadium etc…

The club in the city where I am just now were relegated from Serie B 4 years ago, and due to ‘financial irregularities’ (not uncommon over here) were sent to the 5th tier! Basically the president at the time was a crook!

They were subsuquently bought by a leading Italian oil magnate (true!), and last season won their group and won promotion back to Serie B!

dont waste your breath addressing him, he is still hurting and cant fathom why a scotland player would be boo’d playing for his country, never an issue before, because he probably boo’d Celtic players, or claims it never happened.

Did you not think to point out to your source that Charlie Adam would be ineligible for whatever European games we get to play as he has already represented Liverpool in this season’s Europa League? Signing him this season would make no footballing sense.

The last article on Basle brings back memories. A duff team we were told but went on to disprove that, if my memory serves, when they qualified for the last 16 that year.

Doubting wether they did got me to thinking of other opponents we that we got at the wrong time in european ties. Athletico Madrid went on to win the Europa league last season for instance, so were the best team in it. Porto in seville went on to win the CL the next year with a largely unchanged side, so you could argue were the best team in europe when we came up against them. Artmedia, another duff side we were told, went on to cause real shocks in the group stage of CL the year we played them. Shakter Donetsk (spelling?) won the europa league/uefa cup just after we played them also. ACMILAN when we played them in last 16 were reigning champions. Lyon were an unknown quantity when we first drew them and went on to dominate france and make a splash in europe.

Given our track record here’s hoping helsinborg aren’t a team on the up!!!

Can anyone else add teams that, after knocking us out of something, went on to great things?

Spoke to Alasdair Mc Lean from the blog the other day the resident Staggie and told him his team was getting us at the perfect time as one or two of our players may not be 100% focussed on beating Ross Co with the Helsinborgs game coming up , so have to agree with you , step froward Tony Watt and co.

  25. Dundee Utd debt seems a strange issue. Quite how D & P, in May 2012, could have agreed to waive a substantial sum of money, for what looks like the benefit of the SPL creditors, is beyond me. BDO would be perfectly entitled to try and undo that agreement and retrieve the SPL prize money from last year for the benefit of all RFC(IA) creditors. It looks, in short, like variable treatment of creditors by D&P based on their class. I would like to see how the SPL get on trying to keep hold of this sciarole (including the monies which may already have been paid to Celtic and Hearts) if BDO asks for it!

What seems clear is that CG, on behalf of Newco, agreed to pay Scottish debtors as part of the licence transfer proceedings. This is an obligation which seems to exist on the part of newco notwithstanding what the May letter says. Therefore, if Dundee United consider that they are owed money by someone in respect of the Scottish Cup tie, they are due it either from CG or the SPL. CG says it ought to have been paid by the SPL in terms of the May 2012 letter, but newco can’t enforce the terms of that agreement, any more than a debtor of oldco can pursue newco for payment.

Unlike Jackson and others who are openly huns, for a time Spiers tried not to be too much of a hun and was effectively banished by Murray. I think his current mind set suggests he needs to be a hun to make a living and is now playing to the average low brow hun to court their acceptance.

One thing that has never confused me about Spiers is his dislke of Celtic FC and Celtic fans. His latest writing is seen as confirmation of my opinion.
