CQN and Celtic Supporters Liaison

475

I’m having a preoccupied week, so Hot Smoked and vfr800a8 have kindly stepped forward with today’s article, and an initiative, which will hopefully establish a direct route for the blog to ask questions of the club.

This is from  Hot Smoked and vfr800a8, please support the initiative:

In 2004 Paul67 decided that something was needed to combat the distorted MSSM reporting on all things Celtic.  The result was the birth of CQN.

Like all good ideas, CQN has developed and now provides an outlet for discussions ranging from Independence to toasted cheese.  Nevertheless, the raison d`etre of the site remains the same i.e. as provision of a vehicle to inform on all matters Celtic from a less prejudiced view than that of the MSSM.  However, there are still issues that arise that could do with some direct input and clarification from Celtic.

With that in mind, we contacted John Paul Taylor, the Celtic Supporters Liaison Officer and after discussion he has agreed to host a weekly/fortnightly Q & A session at a set time on CQN.  He is also willing to do a Blog Q&A session on a regular basis if required; the frequency of the “regular basis” is yet to be defined so we will approach this flexibly.

If there are urgent issues that arise then we can approach John Paul to see if there is a possibility of a response prior to the scheduled meetings, though it is expected that this will only take place in exceptional circumstances.

Initially, to ensure that all areas of any given topic are covered, we would propose we tackle different sets of questions on separate weeks; for example:

Week 1 – Res 12 and “same club” issues

Week 2 – The stadium, fan experience and safety at other stadiums

Week 3 – Ticket allocation issues

Week 4 – Offensive Behaviour at Football Act

The questions and issues will be collated centrally on CQN and grouped to reflect the various views on the Blog.  We feel that this approach is unique to CQN and don’t think any other fan site has this opportunity so we must use it wisely.

It is envisaged that if those using CQN see this as being useful and beneficial that we start the meetings on Friday 18th November 2016, so we would finalise questions and issues by mid-day on tomorrow, 17th November to get them to John Paul.  Please send questions you would like to raise to competition@celticquicknews.co.uk and Liason in the subject line

So, let us know what you think and if the feedback is positive, we can get this off the ground!  If there are issues or questions you have on Res 12 and the same club myth please let us know by noon tomorrow by emailing competition@celticquicknews.co.uk

Thanks, Hot Smoked and vfr800a8.

In other news CQN is delighted to publish Stephen Murray’s new book Kenny of the Celtic today. It’s available now from cqnbookstore.com

  3. Hats off to the res 12ers. It is a long and steady race but their determination is impressive. Everyone would like immediate answers but plainly patience and as they say, persistence, is the key.

Thanks goodness the International football is over and we get back to the real thing on Friday night ( Saturday morning for the Antipodeans).

I did a couple of articles on Lenny this week and will shamefully repost now – as tomorrow it will be all about the next game v Killie. And rightly so.

  4. Winning Captains, sorry to bother you but my wife is having problems with the Andy Lynch book. She ordered it October 10th but it has not arrived and she has had no response when she contacted via the cqnbookstore website or the merchant email address.

Are you able to assist, thanks?

  5. Soooo,

It’s looks as if the Requisitioners have eventually got what they wanted….the PLC…to take them seriously. Is it because they put them between a rock and a hard place?

What do I expect now….the meeting next week, if it happens, will be used to schedule a future agenda….probably in the 6 month range….

And in the meantime…..there’ll be wholesale changes at the SFA….with Blazers replacing Blazers….and Regan, Doncaster et al….will have been allowed to walk away with their confidentiality contracts (pay offs) and pensions intact

    Upshot being….let’s all move on

Aye, pessimistic b’stard…..I might be, but I still retain some hope ;-))

“A copy of our narrative and the supporting timeline has been copied to Celtic to consider their position prior to the AGM on 16th November 2016 when we believe the PLC should now make a statement with regard to their position on the necessity of Resolution 12. We have run the course on your behalf with regards to UEFA and in doing so we think we have made a case for an investigation into the SFA’s approval of the 2011 UEFA Licence granted to Rangers FC which is now up to Celtic to pursue. If, having read the attached and this message, you agree you might wish to signal so by e mail to John Paul Taylor JPTaylor@celticfc.co.uk Subject Line: Res12 Statement for 2016 AGM? 15. AULDHEAD, Cheers mate for your mention in relation to my earlier post yesterday of a ” possible” connection ?

I also wonder that the upsurge by the smsm in their haste to get rid of Regan in particular at this moment in time is to say the least, very suspicious ?

I posted about this a few days ago, after Scotland were beaten at Wembley , and I have deep reservations in relation to the smsm ” reasons” for the sudden clamour to have Regan sacked ? I could be wrong if course ?

IMO Scotland played reasonably well until soon after England’s 2nd goal and that was even the opinion of the same so called journalists that now urgently want Regan sacked etc ?

    Rather strange IMO ?

    Perhaps I’m putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 ?

It’s the ” timing” of Scotland’s defeat, Celtic’s agm/ res 12, and the demands from the smsm for Regan’s head, all occuring within a few short days which is driving my deep suspicions at this time ?

It’s all too much of a coincidence for my liking ( again I may be wrong), that the SFA official at the centre of res 12 ( Regan), being previously angered by oldco dropping the SFA in it, then to some degree plays Pontious Pilate in the aftermath of the Scottish Cup Final, which in turn furthers angers the perma raged Sevco and it’s support, and then just at the same time that res 12 is clearly gathering momentum ( including UEFA inviting Celtic FC to get involved ? ), we have a smsm clamour to get Regan out ?

It also has to be said, that in most folks opinion ( whether they actually care about the national team ? ), the performance v England certainly wasn’t the worst in recent years ? So for the smsm to call for Regan’s head, claiming that it is solely based on failing football related matters, is quite frankly ” smoke and mirrors” IMO ?

Lastly, IF my suspicions were even remotely accurate ( it’s a big IF ?), I would hope that Regan in the process of being sacked for so “called football reasons” , would then not only vent his anger on how he’s been treated, but would grow a pair and advise his master’s that he will NEVER sign any confidentiality agreement ?

Again if so, Regan would be so aggrieved that wild horses wouldn’t stop him from telling all ?

In my experience, , ( even if Regan signed a ” confidentiality agreement “) most if these are not worth the paper it’s written on ?

I speak from personal experience as I have put a ” confidentiality agreement ” to the test and I’m STILL waiting to be ” sued”, over 6 years later !

If matters unfold as above and Regan is sacked etc ? He MAY agree to a financial package , and a confidentiality agreement ( just to appease his master’s, the smsm and Sevco), and then in determined anger say ” sod it”, even though I’m about to implicate myself regarding res 12 etc, I’m going to sell my story to an English newspaper and/or admit ALL to UEFA, as I have nothing to lose ” ?

All the above of course is wishful thinking perhaps on my part ?

    Interesting times methinks .

Canamalar the suggestion was made that Celtic would make a statement today. That was on the blog yesterday. I was hopeful something would happen today.

But Celtic did the usual. Nothing.

We then get the story that there will be a chat tomorrow. Fair enough but forgive me for my scepticism based on past record of the board.

With regards to your second question a couple of things. Firstly I think you guys have done a fantastic job DESPITE the boards obvious lack of willingness to do anything. Man they must be cursing you privately in the boardroom.

    ———————————-

Oh No They’re Not! They’re loving them in the Janus-faced boardroom. Res 12 is the safety valve to appease the dissidents; at the same time not rocking the boat with the SFA, Huns, etc.

The original Res 12 was the litmus test. An answer one way or the other in 2013 would have revealed the true plc position regards the resumption of the Old Firm brand. The requisitioners let them off the hook. It’s quite easy to join the dots really. Michael Nicholson BRTH, (Celtic Foundation), Fast forward three years. The same players playing the others

If I may intrude on your private conversations:

Would I be wrong in concluding that you would have preferred to have given our esteemed Board “a bloody nose” in 2013 by pushing Res12 to a vote when presumably the would have voted down the resolution? Are you unhappy that perhaps now with, hopefully, the support of the Board there will be progress in unearhing the truth- in addition to what the Res12 bhoys have already uncovered? If so, may I ask why?

We have all been at meetings at which the motion we were supporting was defeated in a vote.

May I make a suggestion. If I were you and had a dossier which I wished the club to consider I would put it in an envelope marked “For your eyes only”, go along to an offig an phoist and have An Post mail it to the Club Secretary. He could then consider how valid your points may be. HH
