Steviebhoy- the damage to the central nervous system, leading in some cases to progressive disability and death.

    So that part of MS.

The great difficulty in giving any kind of prognosis in MS is that no 2 cases are the same; some people will be lucky and have only one attack in their lives; others will progress inexorably to an early demise.

I don’t think there’s anyone posting on here [including you and me] who would come out of their doctor’s office, having been told it looks like they have MS , and be able to get their head round the news.

You could be cheered up and having a great day if the voting goes in the right direction!

  5. Great statement from Alloa, released late last night:

While we understand that today’s vote will be by secret ballot we have decided that our fans should be advised of the clubs voting intentions before the meeting to allow for clarity and avoid any ambiguity on how we interpret the situation.

We believe that the SPL and possibly the SFA should have taken an earlier and more decisive stance on this issue, instead they ducked their responsibilities until such times that they were no longer in control of the situation.

They then, somewhat bizarrely, came to the SFL meeting and asked us to vote as they wished (against sporting principles) and not as they had done.

Incredibly they then proceeded to threaten our organisation with dire outcomes and implied threats if we did not bend to their joint will.

Even after this Alloa held our own counsel to await our fans responses and the promised response from the SPL and SFA.

We can advise that our fans were decisively against the Newco having direct entry into division one.

Again what we received from the SPL was somewhat surprising. While many of the suggested improvements to the structures of Scottish football moving forward are progressive and long overdue, incredibly, they were then caveated with the condition that the SPL would take complete control, with an inbuilt majority on any new structured board 3 to 2. This would effectively give control of the whole of Scottish senior football to the failed management structure of the SPL.

As we previously advised in our first statement, we would do what we believed was in the best interest of Alloa FC, Scottish Football and sporting integrity. Fortunately we believe that the best interests of all three are mutual.

Alloa can see no reason to vote in any way other than to put the new Rangers in the league that there own manager and fans have asked for, division three.

We hope that everyone involved in football takes this opportunity to remind ourselves that to a large extent the fans are Scottish football, without them what is the point? We must remember we are here to manage and administer our National game and not to implement anyones narrow will against the avalanche of public and fan opinion, using the excuse of promises of changes which should be taking place anyway.

Financially there may be difficult times ahead, but we would rather face that than agree to sell out for short term financial gain or bend to threats and vote for a flawed proposal.

your bang on with your statement that no 2 cases are the same, but to consine everyone with MS to die is a bit harsh… hey but in your defence… we’re all gonna die…along with the taxman arriving… hey everything comes back to football

  8. How? In the name of God? Does an off the shelf company ? Get preferential treatment? By the sfa? And thinks it can waltz into a football league? With NO accounts whatsoever? And arrogantly & arbitrarily calling itself ‘The Rangers’,debt free and full of entitlement as usual? Talking tripe about signing new players way beyond their means?

    How?

Is this mental idea just not simply illegal?

If the Chucky G circus of horrors manages to pull this off, will they not find themselves (or whoever he flogs this pig in a poke to) in courts of law, time after time?

I was listening this morning and heard the preamble. The usual line was being pursued,Rangers being demoted etc so I turned it off.

The BBC is expected to be the quality standard and,in fairness,on most subjects it achieves this, however on this particular matter there is real lazy journalism. Can Scottish football survive without the Old Firm, can it survive without Rangers? All the standard answers emerge and it is more than annoying to listen to the superficiality that is spewed.

Hopefully today more inquisitive minds will consider the matter and influence events towards a just outcome.Fingers crossed.

    ………………..

    Was that on Radio Scotland?

I cannot believe that there is not a will amongst fans of all colours to remove the stench of corruption that exists within the ranks of those responsible for managing and governing the game. It does need however a leader to emerge around which fans organisations can convene to determine a strategy both to remove the present leaders of the SFA and SPL and to determine a future strategy which serves the game overall rather than those who feed off it.

Steviebhoy- I’m not consigning everyone with MS to a death sentence, far from it; my original beef was with the original statement that ‘methanol poisoning’ was a bigger issue than MS related deaths.

In my defence I know what I’m talking about ;/)

I think because the SFA and SPL report to no-one but themselves, If these organisations get any kind of public funding then in my view it must be removed until transparancy and good goverance are in place.

With newco in SFL3, the clubs AND the fans are prepared to face any financial challenges as they meet them. Shouldn’t that be enough for the games administrators to apply the rules as they stand?! What vested interest do they have that has seen them pressure the SFL clubs to accept newco into SFL1? I think we could all hazard a guess at that one.

  17. How come the SFL vote is by secret ballot and the SPL wasn’t?

Is it because the SPL clubs wanted to make a show of excluding the huns to distract us from the fact that they were engineering a move to get the huns into the first division?

    How can Regan survive this?

He is hopelessly compromised by his predisposition and must be removed at all costs.

And why is Doncaster still in position? – shameful behaviour by SPL.
