The Football Specials will be packed today with optimistic Celtic fans ahead of their opening competitive game of season 1966-67 at Tynecastle. The Glasgow club hope to win the League Cup for the fourth time in their history. They face a Hearts team looking to win the League Cup for the firth time, which last season became increasingly dependent on lightning-fast striker, Willie Wallace.
By comparison, the reigning Division One and League Cup champions have two of the best wingers in the country. Bobby Lennox and Jimmy Johnstone were the only Celtic players to score in their final eight competitive games of last season, as Jock Stein’s team’s fitness proved crucial with a barrage of late goals.
St Mirren visit Clyde in the other Group 4 game, the only group with all Division One teams, but it’s the two giants who meet in Edinburgh who are favourites to produce the group winner.

I watched the whole of the hun game yesterday.
Forrester , who was taken off before he risked being sent off , is the archetypal hun.
He `ll need sorting.

My memories of Celtic were of us never winning :-)
Cqn is a new concept, we can talk (type) about Celtic, Celtic now winning all the time isn’t the Celtic I grew up with, the Huns cheated and will still cheat but now it’s more noticeable, my own father who passed in 1995 would call me a liar if I told him the cheats were found out, never let them ever forget …… They never paid their queen’s taxes, they sing about her but the tax dodging tramps never paid their dues
Things change in life and priorities get prioritised, years ago,I would have begged and borrowed to go to a game, now my 7 nearly 8 year old will be the only person that decides if I go to a game, some might slag the pink strip but I can assure you that strip is enticing her and that pink strip will hopefully get me back at Celtic Park, although canny dog the train or get a lift over these days, as even though the Huns are still cheating, we still have to pay our way………
From that I take Brendan is just glad to get that trick friendly out of the road and it’s full steam ahead for Wednesday.
The game is up for Ambrose,Boyata,Johansen,Armstrong and possibly Izzaguire.
i wasnt a big fan of Rod the Mods actual music output,
but the older you get the more catholic (universal) you become.
this would make a great green brigage celtic anthem

Yeah ?
He took on Darren O`Dea several times and offered Darren the handshake which he refused.
Henderson ? Interesting . I wouldn`t have thought so.
However, as long as Brendan is aware of Forrester`s tendencies.
I can see interesting times ahead.
Catch ye in the morning! Beddie bass now.

Maybe Rogic in for Henderson.
The referring today at Dens was what to expect from a farce of a league where fairness is thrown out the windae. Thankfully we are miles in front in football terms.
