Declare the 9

I remember 1997 when another nine-in-a-row was about to be won.  We knew it was coming, we knew it would be difficult and we needed to get through the period.  I avoided all news coverage and football chat for over 24 hours that May, only to find out later that Motherwell’s Owen Coyle upset plans and the title had yet to be won.  I just wanted it over with, the delay was not helpful.

We are in the same situation now, there is not the remotest doubt the Premiership will be called and Celtic will be declared champions.  No one’s interest is served by further postponing the inevitable; it would only leave the SPFL in the spotlight longer than necessary.

Only box ticking exercises remain and today’s meeting between Premiership clubs and the SPFL should be the last.  Scottish football has more important things to worry about, it is in significant peril and needs to move energies on immediately.  Declare the 9.

    God bless him!(and you!)

  14. The spfl have a mandate to end the premier league. If clubs try to frustrate the conclusion the spfl can simply go ahead anyway based on political, medical and sporting advice. the silliness about the other teams giving us it is shite!!! We have earned it, any doubt just have a look at the table.

Ajer can go because his agent is openly touting him about and he has a big price tag the money is most welcome at this time.

Want eduard to stay but same applies to him, if he signs a new contract and is willing to stay another year, grand, if not you just need to get the best deal possible.

Celtic dont need to sell but it makes no sense to keep players that are no committed or willing to stay when we can go get players who have the hunger to pull on the hoops, we have been doing this for years now.

When we get a belter I just enjoy watching and know if they go we will be rewarded with a good transfer fee to go get another gem.

In these times we are never signing 8 players and we should not be.

A keeper, yes and a centreback if ajer goes, yes but no left or right backs will be coming unless 1 leaves.

We have enough centremids and strikers. In fact I reckon ntcham will be off and will not be replaced.

Perhaps a left winger but we have johnson and oxoflex coming through. Also we had been playing wingback so perhaps not.

Micky Johnston hasn’t yet established himself in the same way as say, Calum McGregor. Also he won’t be fit for 60 odd games it seems. We need somebody to compete or back MJ up.

That’s why we signed Moi and that’s why he will need to be replaced if he goes back to Southampton.

Last season we signed 10 players for the first team: Forster, Elyounoussi, Soro, Klimala, Elhamed, Frimpong, Taylor, Boli, Jullien, Bauer

8 players are hardly unrealistic even in ‘these times’

Players will still move. Just for smaller fees and contracts.

If Ajer goes that will fund a great deal of it.
