Appropriate appreciation is due to Dedryk Boyata for his MVP performance on Wednesday. He scored the goal that won the points, could have scored more and made the most impressive defensive intervention of the game.
If scouts were in the Celtic Park stand watching, he did all he could to entice an offer, but a sample size of one game is not enough to validate a change in form for me.
Brendan has a big selection decision to make for Hearts on Sunday. You could argue he’s got the best from Patrick Roberts by bringing him on as a substitute in Celtic’s last four games, the most recent three of which the player considerably lifted the Celtic performance. Patrick will be wondering what he needs to do to get a start.
Chelsea want to sign Craig Gordon? No surprise there, they did sign Magnus Hedman a year after he left Celtic, after all. Craig is playing well and a reliable cog in an effective defensive wheel. But you know me. This far off the qualifiers, it’s all about the price as far as I’m concerned.
Everyone has a price, to think otherwise is to deny the future exists.

Thomas Cook infestation
Why would I want to turn off safari browsing, that works perfectly safely in almost every orher blog?
Without delay/lag or completely kick out/refresh
Wtf is going on here?
JIMPAYNE
You and I only met because of this blog. And we’ve met many since, and never a wrong ‘un.
Statistical improbability,but a fact.
worth fighting for,old bean.
Jimbo67
Ditto :-)
I try not take the blog too serious but in my humble opinion it does far more good than bad, another lurker would be Frantic07, him and his good lady have had too put up with me 2 hoots on the trot :-)

It is why I never cut the cord mate. Well not you specifically but you know what I mean!

Chockful of non-sequitur arguments.
Nobody asserted that Liverpool were dominated by supporters of an orange hue.
Nobody asserted that they were free from ROI or catholic.
supporters.
And no-one, who knew Ireland at all, needed any lessons on the dominance of Premiership clubs in garnering support from Irish people.
You waste as much time in replying to arguments that were never asserted as you do in decrying any CQNr who takes an interest in Rangers.
Got to wonder why you behave like this if the conversation is as enervating as you suggest with your “Yawn Yawn” patter.
Let me boil my viewpoint down to its simplest terms:-
There was a time when Liverpool had a protestant element to its support and Everton was supported by RCs and Methodists.
That time was long past but some remnants remain, much diluted, just as they are in Edinburgh.
That’s it and that’s all I said.
Just treat the ads as a personal challenge. From Thomas Cook to BP ultimate, we have slayed them all.
The latest fight is against the lying King, sorry Lion King in the big smoke .
While I may not exactly welcome the challenge, there is no doubt we will prevail.

I posted the other day re HT & Onemalloy, two good Celtic bhoys I would have never crossed paths with, Dallas & AoW I totally consider as friends who I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for CQN, let others mock, again, far more good comes from this place than bad

Aw,shucks!
GERRYFAETHEBRIG
Seriously, aye. And we all know it.
Cloghercelt: Thoughts with you re your Uncle Rod.
BGFC: congrats to your daughter.
Re soccer teams Irish people support: English soccer teams have always had a significant following here, but most people who declare support for these teams rarely attend matches in England.
If you are in Dublin airport on a Saturday or Sunday match day Celtic fans easily outnumber EPL fans.
English football gets massive coverage here, Scottish football rarely gets a look in.
WITS: Enjoy your day tomorrow.

God Bless him and keep him.

When I lived there, my local was full of people who supported brit teams, not a single one had ever gone to england to see them, there was a few bhoys who were season book holders at Celtic Park, one bloke saw us three or four times a year due to work, but nothing would have stopped him from having his season book.

BRTH – you missed me.
Not sure if you were only including people who were included on the Edinburgh trip. But me and Cowiebhoy are on the 09:40 Liverpool – Lisbon on the 24th.
evening all :))

Prayers said for your Uncle Rod, and for Sister Rita and her wonderful, caring staff at Saint Margaret’s Hospice, Clydebank. God bless them all.

I think you have to step away from it – I certainly had to the second time I dropped it. It is though a sign of my own regard for the blog that I was considering it being my first port of call on the topic I was going to raise considering as it was my attempts to rejuvenate my faith. I will leave that until later.

CC-as BMCUW said above HH
Hey Guys I never was a frequent poster but I’ve not been here for a long time. I find some of the internecine warfare difficult to take and some individual poster’s, petty and aggressive attitudes too much work. That said there’s rarely a day goes by when I don’t read what’s being said. I’ve also met some fine folk from here and if I can persuade the missus and get the time off I’m going to get myself to Lisbon to meet you all. Warszavvy.

Prayers offered for Uncle Rod.

G67 and a few from earlier, some of these so called big clubs are so out of touch with their fans it’s scary, not interested in winning a major trophy. When the board and a manager sit down at start of a season, what are the realistic goals? Mind you, i read last week it’s £8 mil a difference per league placing from this/next season(someone might confirm),winning the FA Cup about £2-3 mil maybe…?
Saltires,
Noticed your safari comment, turned off JavaScript to get rid of the Thomas Cook pish but you’ll have to turn it back on to get into Phil’s blog!
Jimbo67
As Lennybhoy says “keep the faith”
All kidding aside, I use the blog for a Celtic fix although I have probably opened up on here about many more things than Celtic but, again, I have now met a good few Cqners, yourself included and have yet to meet a bad yin …. we post on a great Celtic blog

“I had a mate whose da came fae Kerry, and he used to say the best Irishmen came fae the West Of Scotland”
I had to laugh at that but there might well be some truth to it. If I remember some of my dad’s pals from there from way back; Frankie McGhee, Jimmy Murphy, Kenny McLean et al all, great Bhoys, Celts and Gaels. And it has to be said some of the finest Scots I ever did meet.
Their billy boy hero died alone
In a pish stained bed
In a pish stained bedsit
In pish stained brigton.
A fitting end for the cnut.
TET: Out of 15 soccer supporters in my staff I am the only one who supports Celtic. The rest support EPL teams and Leeds. None of them go over to ‘support’ their team. Many don’t even attend friendlies when their teams come here.

Cheers

Aye, par for the course.
Back in mid 2000s, St Pats played Spurs in a pre season friendly, I never knew so many in my local were Spurs fans, I was inundated with requests for tickets for the game, this was after the game had sold out, there was me, a season ticket holding scotsman, supporting an Irish team and Irishmen were asking me for tickets to support an english team, astonishing,

A few years ago I was in a bar in Letterkenny. My wee gran hailed from there so I had gone on a wee pilgrimage.
There were murals on all the walls. The Irish rugby team, Liverpool and Man Utd were all represented. I asked the barman cheerily whereabouts the Celtic wall was. He looked at me as if I had two heads.
It was a sobering moment that 4 pints of Guinness didn’t fully rectify!
Hopefully, your forthcoming Cafe will compensate.
OneMalloy
Hope you and the family are doing as well as possible, time is a healer
Always in me & the wee blades prayers

Sydneytim Frankly bang out of order imho
*I’ve been on here almost since the beginning; I come on periodically and debate, whether right and wrong, with a few lhistees. There are some I no longer read and therefore respond tae, they fall intae 3 categories:
1. Those who talk a lot of scheitd.
2. Those who no matter how much you debate with them they won’t wilt and are stuck in their ways. A bit like Mrs. TT.
3. Those so consumed with hate and venom that they refuse tae see any good in the other person(s). A bit like yer average hun.
To be honest I thought my comment was fairly reasonable. :))

Yer uncle sounds like a grand man.
