  2. Morning all. Rare Monday off.

Not read back. Firstly ,many happy returns to our very own Tallybhoy.

Avoided the blog after yesterday’s performance that achieved the required target of being in the next round and little else.

I was informed via a good source that J.Forrest & GMS were given instructions not to go outside and hit the bye line.

    Inside. Every time.

    Modern coaching ???

Watched Liam Henderson show some dig, pass the ball forward & deliver good corners and free kicks yesterday.

Some modern coaches can adapt to circumstances. HH

    Ernie,

Your question means that Celtic will play in two leagues at the same time an invitational one and the Scottish one ?

    who is them ?

    HH

  4. Aw Naw

Celtic never had and never will have the power to stop Sevco playing in the Premiership so I cannot see what action they could take to prevent.

You seem to be doing what the SFA have been trying to do which is make Res12 an “old firm” issue.

It’s not, it’s about proper accountable governance of Scottish football and that is something very much in Celtic’s interests and their support will demand it too.

I cannot see how they could avoid not taking a stance on the governance issue. Apart from which accountability is not just a Celtic issue and other clubs will see and support the necessity to change the current structures.

  5. I’ve been looking at our season so far and compared it to seasons past.

    – This season we have actually only lost 3 games in the league. 2 of those were at Pittodrie (definitely the most difficult fixture) This isn’t a particularly terrible record. Stuff happens.

    – We are only 2 points worse off than this point last year. We finished that season champions with 92 points. 17 points above Aberdeen.

    – Aberdeen are only a point better off than last season.

    – Points totals under Neil Lennon: 92, 93, 79, 99.

    – Points totals under Strachan: 91, 84, 89, 82, 81

If we won every game til the end of the season, we would finish with 97 points. Still short of Neil Lennon’s 99 points.

I still think it’s possible that we will hit the 90 points mark, which isn’t that bad.

As far as I am concerned they should be on top of governance, They weren´t and aren’t interested. So I agree there is nothing that Celtic want to do. There is an incredible long list of thing they could have done and should do and should be doing ? Starting with the 5 way agreement

  7. Fleeting visit to see some alternative perspectives re yesterday’s dross ..

Oldco /Newco stuff always reminds me of this ( from early August 2012 )

    One more thing.

When Resolution 12 was first presented to the Celtic hierarchy it was not a case of being told “we are on it please walk away as you will only interfere and spoil our already well prepared work”. – See more at: http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/east-kilbride-v-celtic-live-updates/comment-page-23/#comment-2772442

    ======

That is simply not the case. I was involved and have a good idea what took place and that does not come anywhere near it.

I think it was as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit but when what was causing the bad smell was pointed out they acted.

Don’t forget if they wanted the smell to go away all they had to do was out vote it. They didn’t.

  9. I’m not sure I fully understand the reasoning behind ‘wait until June’ to review Ronny.

If we let him go, are we seriously giving a new manager a handful of days to prepare for the CL qualifiers?

You might as well say if he wins the league he is in charge for the CL and the Sevhun challenge next season.

Do I think he has the tactical ability and grip on the dressing room to meet these challenges? Based on the evidence; definitely not. This is turning into a slow car crash.

He is inconsistent against SPFL dross , and consistently found wanting against mediocre euro teams.

    Show some ambition Celtic.

  10. Timaloy29.

Losing twice away to the sheep.

Statistics can cover a multitude of concerns.

The evidence of a weak performance doesn’t.

    Especially when it’s becoming habitual.

We don’t do adversity very well.

  11. There’s a right good read on Etims ………..On our most recent Cup game…

Even in Neil Lennon’s best season we lost twice to the sheep.

Points on the board don’t hide the truth. They are all that matter. We’re only doing slightly worse than last season at this point.

    Auldheid,

we can revisit this a few years after the final BTC appeal has been decided upon.

I understood your point about not attending the shame game summit. At a meeting in St Mary’s, late 2010 I think, I remember commenting to another CQNer “time we grew a set” so I recognise your sentiment.

I didn’t agree when you first made it because I thought it would be painting a target on Celtic’s back. It was a poltical manoeuvre that outflanked us and going along with it in my judgement was less damaging than staying away.

(There was a similar debate at a CST meeting on giving evidence to the committee that led to the OBB when staying away was discussed but rejected after all points heard).

What I will say now is that Celtic face opposition way beyond what I thought was the case and my original feeling was correct.

The SFA and SPFL have been presented with hard evidence since 2011 that should have caused an immediate enquiry in 2014 but have ignored. If they can do that with hard evidence I don’t know how not turning up at the summit would have caused a different result.

As has been said “we have not been paranoid enough”.

I hope it’s only another 6 months but the truth will come out and if it doesn’t lead to SFA reform there is no point to our game.

  18. My friends in Celtic,

Happy Chinese New Year to all. Let’s hope Ronny and the troops embrace the New Year.

    Year of the Monkey. Hmmmmmmmmmm

PS : I defy anyone to tell us we don’t dine at the top table. Well at least four of us.

  19. Philbhoy.

They both obviously , went outside, on occasion. Agree that both were poor. My concerns are with the ” structure” of the team and the subsequent instructions.

    Timaloy29.

    Points are indeed paramount.

Gaining them against teams who are disciplined and physical are a problem.

A problem created by being predictable.HH.

  20. Ard Macha

    —————–

Agree 100% with you – I have been saying for weeks that the players’ demeanour is worrying, there application not existent – to me they are going through the motions, almost working to rule.

I was at the game yesterday and if it hadn’t been for the EK fans, the place would have been silent in disbelief at what we were seeing.

There was no conversation in the team – no overt camaraderie – no show of teamwork – just a bunch of players all doing their own thing.

Two scrambled goals from two set-pieces, the first of which should have been disallowed – we could have come in at half-time all square.

I can’t believe that some people are unable to see the psychological effect the job is having on Ronny.

He has gone from super confident with his Ronny Roar, to using the relative failings of previous Celtic managers and even Alex Ferguson, to justify his position and his mantra that ‘it will be alright on the night’ – what night and when, we must ask.

This has worn thin over the period of two CL and EL failures, two domestic cup exits, an apparent squandering of a substantial lead in the league….and of course yesterdays fiasco.

I know he was desperately unlucky not to have secured a treble last season, but for whatever reason things are now drifting away.

We could quite easily sleepwalk to a blank season waiting for the ‘magic formula’ to kick in.

Finally those on here who tell us continually that Ronny has had all the twenty-three incoming players during his tenure, foisted on him by Peter Lawwell and John Park are talking arrant nonsense – however let’s say for argument sake it were true – would that weak ‘puppet’ be a man worthy of the title of manager of Celtic?

  21. Aw Naw

How long is a piece of string? The justice system will determine the pace.

What stopped action much sooner is the same as has delayed it until now. The source of the new information that led to adjournment was questionable.

That itself will change as the justice system grinds on.

If leave to appeal refused then on LNS six months should tell us if clubs, not just Celtic, were prepared to act.

On Res12 what has kept the lid on, and it has nothing to do with Celtic who have to be as observant of the law as all of us, will be removed as the trials commence.

The aim now is to ensure as far as posdible that it does not become an excuse not to call SFA to account.

  22. Mr Pastry

I get the feeling most were expecting us to scud them 10 yesterday, it wasn’t pleasant but the result is what matters, many champions play shite and get results that’s what counts.

RD isn’t a puppet at all, he agrees to players coming in he knows the targets, they haven’t been foisted onto him.

  23. Good to see the original Boul’ Bhoy contribute to the blog again – always read your stuff and thanks for the reference, your sage advice is noted!

I’m sure like me, and many who have stuck with this Dear Green Place………. in sunshine and shadow, you don’t take yourself that seriously – especially when there’s a very real agenda in play by the foe-malign………..

Many of Paul’s articles have quite rightly been suggestive of the underhand and, as I would say, sleekit work of those who do not support Celtic…… and who actively agitate against the Club and those who support it.

This blog is an excellent channel for supporter influence ( an avenue especially derided in scoddland when it comes in the colour green) and is imo therefore a legitimate target for those wee individual(s) who despise us and all that we stand for.

Anyhoo, this tim is always grateful for the insights of a fellow Celtic supporter so please, PLEASE keep on doin’ what you do……….and I’ll………….

There are a few Celtic players struggling to find a bit of form I have no idea why this should be but it is clear to see.The Celtic managers job is becoming harder and harder to please the Celtic support we now have posters talking about body language so not only does the manager have to win all our games in typical swashbuckling Celtic fashion he has to ensure that he has the correct body language at all times. 28. ANGELGABRIEL on 8TH FEBRUARY 2016 10:54 AM

There’s no doubt that we struggle due to an inability to organise ourselves defensively.

Let’s not forget that both Aberdeen winners this season came from set pieces. Ronny simply needs to put this right and the rest of the season will be fine.

We need a fit and healthy side to play the next 10 or so games consistently. Gordon, Lustig, Boyata, Sviat, Tierney, Broon, Biton, Griff & Kazim Richards all need to start every game. Maybe we can rotate the wide players.

  29. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

Current and recent supporter angst has manifest itself following 3 recent poor performances but I suspect the source of this dissatisfaction is a longer term disappointment.

I can honestly say the liquidation of RFC was one of the happiest days of my life.

Firstly because it was a ‘truth is out’ moment that put the lie to accusations of Celtic paranoia.

More importantly it provided an open goal for complete domination of domestic football and unhindered access to European rewards on and off the pitch. I didn’t harbour any notion of winning CL but I expected progress in Europe.

In all of our minds we knew a reincarnation would materialise and even that excited me presuming that when they eventually crawled back it would be to fulfil a role of shite beneath our shoes. We would in my estimation be worlds apart.

The last 4 years have been a disappointment. We are now nip tuck with teams that spend a fraction of what we do. Europe has been an ongoing disappointment. We have a team , manager and Board that the support feel alienated from.

The quality of the team is as poor as its been and the team is purely a mechanism to process unknown mediocrities into known mediocrities.

Any gems unearthed are essentially sold to off sett Duff buys.

Meanwhile the stadium empties and the CEO takes £20k/ week about £4K a week more than he is contractually entitled to. What’s worse he and the Board stay silent on Sevco / SFA but spout against sections of our support.

So mineshafters are not blowing performances of the last week out of proportion.. These results have just been a catalyst for the expression of deeper disappointments.

Unless of course I got it wrong and we are actually in great shape, playing great football under a great manager and Board and are in the cusp of European and fonestic progress with an imminent explosion of attendances as well an era of club fan harmony… In which case I take it all back..

  30. My question to the “sack the board /manager” is then what? I have sympathy with your war cry but you must have an alternative, let’s hear it might not be perfect but let’s have some idea as to what you want to see happen after we sack the board and vmanager. Who would do the sacking who are the new board members/manager? This has to be thought through let’s hear/see your vision rather than the kneejerk “Sack the Board” Your move ghuys. H H Hebcely
