There was some misunderstanding that Charles ‘Emerald’ Green’s suggestion that he was hoping to “invest in the playing side right away” might not play well with major creditor HMRC. The comments are more of a challenge for the football authorities. We as a club have played by the rules and we have never cheated and we can’t allow them to get away with this.
Integrity is everything in sport and if the huns get off scot free them I’m afraid the game in Scotland is finished.

Apart from the obvious parts, the main thing was the light – I arrived around 6 by coincidence, but it was perfect.
I chatted up a Greek girl in Charles de Gaulle Airport when I was a student, she speaking no English and me no Greek. She taught me ‘yassoo’ which I gather means hello and goodbye. I tried to tell her that the Soft Cell song wouldn’t have been a hit then. Anyhoo, it was a similar thing with my Benfica-supporting taxi-driver mate who was at the game in 67. It was a ‘key word’ chat – Celtic, green and white (similar to Italian and French which I know), Lisboa, Rangers boo, and then the iPod video of the game and ‘Boavista’ and ‘Sevilla’, Jimmy Johnstone – that kind of thing and you hug and shake the hand of a cab-driver. We spoke Celtic.
You gotta go. The Christ statue entering Lisbon then driving underground scared the bejaysus from us at rush-hour, so the journey from Aljezur was hairy. But what an evening. Emulsional as you say.
