‘Emerald’ Green aims for Champions League

1007

There was some misunderstanding that Charles ‘Emerald’ Green’s suggestion that he was hoping to “invest in the playing side right away” might not play well with major creditor HMRC.  Capital introduced to the company after a CVA has nothing to do with a creditor’s assessment of the offer and, if anything, would offer comfort to HMRC that the company would be able to maintain future payments.

The comments are more of a challenge for the football authorities.  The independent SFA appellant panel will today assess whether to increase, reduce of remove Rangers 12 month player registration embargo.  Rangers narrative for the last two weeks is that this embargo could put them out of business.  Apparently, they need to spend MORE money in future to ensure survival.

It remains to be seen if playing victim does them any good at appeal but Green has brushed this away, Rangers now plan to put a team on the field to win the league and reach the Champions League.  Maybe not the wisest PR move.

John O’Hara, the Celtic secretary, had been unable to lure Kelly. Glass, however, was indefatigable and said he had ‘camped on his doorstep’. The 22-year-old was talked into taking part in Celtic’s first ever match, a 5-2 win over Rangers. ‘No Kelly, no Keltic’ became a catch phrase summary of the towering centre half’s significance. ‘I knew that if I could get Kelly, the rest would follow’, said Glass.

Not accurate actually. I was talking to your sibling on Sunday and he was speaking sense also!!

Ps you know your da was right.

  2. Looking back I really think I took Henrik for granted. I never did the same with Lubo. Maybe it was the King of Kings age, with him being younger than Lubo- I just had that feeling he might quit at some point so I always relished every game he played. Looking back I have to admit I didn’t realise just how incredible Larsson was- maybe a sense that it would never end…now it seems strange that someone as great as him actually played for us all those years.

Nobody has to give a feck about the team. I feel even more strongly when people post about Liverpool or Man U with any affection because I still regard them as our rivals, even though they inhabit a different financial level currently. Crewe are a safe “pet” team to support. They come a distant 3rd to Celtic and Celtic reserves in my affection. I still think Dario Gradi is an admirable coach

I was merely commenting on a couple of promising players on display. No apologies

Lubo trapping the ball with his bahooky against the plastic guns sublime, but Henke’s taking the shy against Dundee and finishing the move with the outside of gis right foot with the ball not touching the deck was sublime

Re di cannio : I was disgusted when he used tommy burns being sacked as an excuse to leave Celtic. Felt he was using tommy as a lever to get what he wanted without turning the support against him and was always looking to get a move to England.

I was disappointed when he was allowed to pull the hoops on again at Celtic park. Felt the same about Pierre as I felt he mucked tommy about when he refused to turn out at ibrox and with his comments about wages being good enough for the jhomeless.

  13. Regarding the Jock Stein Testamonial, Dalglish did run out onto the park by himself after the rest of the Liverpool team stopped at the end of the tunnel. He wasn’t booed at this point, in fact he got a big cheer when he ran out. However when he scored it was a different matter. Some of the chants that were sung were an embarrasment and I think that just spurred him on to score again.

Just back from the Party, not going to be easy to play catch up. Saw a hint of literary references, Archdeacon I think. Big fan of J Hunter Thompson too, but he never bettered his first novel back in the 60s, ‘Fear and Loathing in Firhill’, a bone fide classic, if I ever did see one.

Wee bit pashed after the golf and a great weekend, ST renewal in and sorted tomorrow, some bhoys have reasons for holding fire, here are mine for renewing…..

Some of my favourite days always involve Celtic, some of my favourite days always involve Celtic supporters. Days out like Sunday, Seville, Munich, Dundee United, ST Mirren, Stutgart, Arsenal, Man Utd, laughing like a drain, being a supporter and a fan, loving the club supporters and players and having great fun, great home and away games, tho I have stopped the away games now unless my bhoy is here and we can’t get to CP.

Now you may have noticed I have not mentione them, this is not because I don’t enjoy us beating them and going for a beer to celebrate, I love that aspect but those games are strange, afterwards you have to watch who you drink with and where you go but the others it’s about the football and he craic, Sunday me and my pals had a ball, that’s because it’s about Celtic and us, not them and I’ll renew until I die, because Celtic is me and I am Celtic.

I am also having some red wine after the beer at the golf, are we worried that we have a transfer ban or embargo? are we ding, we are talking about the CL and new signings. Renewal and Celtic for me.

    No to NEWCLUB

Danny McGrain at his best was a world-class right back.I saw him one night playing for Scotland against Brazil. His immediate opponent was a great winger called Paolo Cesar. Danny played so well that night that he had Cesar in his pocket and still found plenty of time to attack. What a player!. In my opinion by far Celtic’s best right back in over 50 years!

  22. This is a copy of the email which has been sent to Celtic on behalf of the GB and those who sit in section 111.

    Peter

As you will know, the issue of any potential newco’s admission to the SPL has been a source of real concern for football fans throughout Scotland.

If you had any doubts about the feelings of the Celtic support on the possibility of a newco entering the SPL, they must surely have been dispelled on Sunday. ‘No to Newco’ rang around Celtic Park and banners urging you to live up to your words and the club’s apparent ‘stand-alone policy’ received a rapturous round of applause.

Earlier last week we advised season ticket holders in our section not to renew for 2012/13 until the plc clarified their position on whether they would vote for or against any potential newco’s admission to the SPL. Season ticket holders in our section subsequently asked us to convene a meeting to hear their views, which we have now done.

It was unanimously agreed at this meeting that no fan should be expected to renew their season ticket until Celtic have informed the fans of their position on newco. Fans cannot possibly commit to such a significant financial outlay until they know whether the custodians of our club value us, our wishes and the integrity of the game more than they value Rangers FC.

We call on the plc to inform the Celtic support of their position on any newco before the 18 May renewal deadline, to allow fans the opportunity to make an informed choice on whether they renew their season tickets or not. If the plc is not yet in a position to do so, then you must extend the renewal deadline until such time as you are able to communicate your decision to fans.

    Yours
