Ex-ref taunts Neil Lennon with ‘explodes’ remark

I think I live in a different world than some people.  In my world the manager of Celtic has endured an incredibly stressful month.  Yesterday he would have dealt with news from a serious criminal trial after a bomb was sent to him.

Today he is being taunted in a newspaper by a former referee who suggests he “explodes at the side of a park”.  Even for a former SFA official, this is astonishingly poor taste.  The article goes on to betray enormous hostility towards Neil Lennon and, for reasons which appear opportunistic, Peter Lawwell.

Our manager will get through these difficult weeks and will hopefully never have to endure such stresses again.  SFA officials, current or past, cannot meaningfully lay a glove on him.  He can pay their fines and will continue to manage a winning Celtic team.

    SPL Requirement

     

    Where applicable, additional financial statements covering the interim period must be prepared and submitted. These must cover the interim period up to 1 December 2010 as a minimum and must be reviewed (as defined by UEFA) by an independent auditor.

     

     

    The auditor’s review shall be conducted in terms of International Standard on Review Engagements (ISRE) 2410, “Review of Interim Financial Information by the Independent Auditor of the Entity”. A specimen auditor’s report is shown in Template Letter A 48.

    SPL Requirement

     

    Clubs shall have no overdue payables towards football clubs arising from transfer activities as at 31 March 2011 that refer to transfer activities that occurred prior to 31 December 2010.

     

     

    It may be acceptable for the payments to be outstanding passed this 31 March date outwith the terms mentioned above but only where the outstanding amount is subject to a not obviously unfounded dispute submitted to a competent authority, or where the club could not establish any link or contact between the player and any concerned club or national association (see Annex VIII of the UEFA Regulations)..

     

     

    To meet this requirement the club shall prepare a Transfer Payables Table which shall be reviewed by an auditor. The requirements for the content of the Table and the auditor review are detailed in Schedule A 49 and Template Letter A 49.

    SPL Requirement

     

    Clubs shall demonstrate that, in respect of contractual and legal obligations with its employees, it has no payables overdue towards employees and social/tax authorities as at 31 March 2011 as a result of contractual and legal obligations that arose prior to 31 December 2010.

    To meet this requirement the club shall prepare a List of Employees (as per definition) showing any overdue sums. This shall be reviewed by an auditor. The requirements for the List and the auditor review are detailed in Schedule A 50 and Template Letter A 50.

    SPL Requirement

     

    Clubs shall submit a written representation within a seven-day window prior to the meeting of the Licensing Committee where a licensing decision is taken.

     

     

    The written representation shall state whether or not any events or conditions of major economic importance have occurred, that may have an adverse impact on the club’s financial position since the balance sheet date of the preceding audited annual financial statements or reviewed interim financial statements (if applicable).

     

     

    To meet this requirement the club shall prepare a Management Representations Letter as detailed in Template Letter A 51 based upon the definition of events of “major economic importance.”

    SPL Requirement

     

    Where the Indicators apply, relevant clubs shall submit future financial information consisting of:

     

    a) A budgeted profit and loss account;

     

    b) A budgeted cash flow; and

     

    c) Explanatory notes including assumptions and risks and comparison of budget to actual figures.

     

     

    The future financial information shall be based on assumptions that are not unreasonable and meet the minimum disclosure requirements as detailed in Financial Appendices B and C.

     

     

    The forecasts will cover an 18-month period split into 3 monthly segments. On 31.03.2011 the club will provide its future forecast from the Interims to the end of the season (2010/11) as well as a further forecast for the following season up to May 31 2012.

     

     

    NB – a club’s future financial information shall be assessed by an auditor. The specific requirements for this auditor review are detailed in the Guidance element of II below. A specimen auditor’s certificate is shown in Template Letter A 52.

    NB – Compliance with this criterion shall be assessed by the Scottish FA in respect of the following licensing cycle.

  17. George Galloway is probably the best political speaker of our generation. I’ve never once seen him bested in debate. He could have been a Minister or in any Cabinet 1997-2012. But he wasn’t because he gets bored with the daily political grind. Not for him the mundane committee work poring over Section 2a, clause VIII d sub-para 18. He’d rather be out there declaiming.

     

    Brilliant but flawed. Still a very good man to go tiger hunting with.

    Got them thanks. These are used in conjuction with the UEFA licensing system and as it stands there are a number that RFC fall foul of.

     

     

    8.1.3 – doubtful they will have any interim reports signed off by auditors by tomorrow;

     

     

    8.1.4 – Not sure as there is a difference between what is overdue and what is paid in installments. Don’t have enough info to make an informed choice on that one;

     

     

    8.1.5 – Well we know they are overdue on Tax/Social security payments.

     

     

    8.1.7 – Without audited accounts for 2010/11, very difficult to produce forward plans but I suppose they could do this.

     

     

    8.1.8 – RFC will have to send a written note that the big tax case might make them no longer a going concern. Wonder was this done in previous years as this could be what sinks them. If undeclared then they were wongly awarded licenses regardless of the fact that they may believe they were innocent. This one is very important and here is the full terms of it:
