Ex-ref taunts Neil Lennon with ‘explodes’ remark

1244

I think I live in a different world than some people.  In my world the manager of Celtic has endured an incredibly stressful month.  Yesterday he would have dealt with news from a serious criminal trial after a bomb was sent to him.

Today he is being taunted in a newspaper by a former referee who suggests he “explodes at the side of a park”.  Even for a former SFA official, this is astonishingly poor taste.  The article goes on to betray enormous hostility towards Neil Lennon and, for reasons which appear opportunistic, Peter Lawwell.

Our manager will get through these difficult weeks and will hopefully never have to endure such stresses again.  SFA officials, current or past, cannot meaningfully lay a glove on him.  He can pay their fines and will continue to manage a winning Celtic team.

Just had the misfortune to have read Kenny Clark’s in the *un!!

What a rat Ba**rd of a man that Clark is!!!

    Hail hail

  2. I'm Neil Lennon (tamrabam) on

The media encourage the weirdest elements of society and that includes ex referees to have ago at him. The courts have sent out a signal that attacking the Irish and Lenny in particular is okay, I thought that they had learned their lesson last year.

It’s strange to hear the likes of the phone ins and red tops say that the behaviour of lenny encourages folks to have a go him while their own publications and programmes attempt to justify the attackers hatred as some valid form of expression.

It seems like the MSM have opened the gates again and are starting to facilitate the attacks on Lennon. These things start off in their warped minds and then are expressed verbally and end up in Tynecastle and Kilwinning.

BTW Kenny Clark was a terrible referee and his opinions on celtic nowadays might reflect his opinions when he was actually refereeing

  3. Morning CQN.

    I just got this pearl of wisdom from the Scottish Government regarding the huns sectarian singing at recent matches;

“In your letter, you make a number of references to songs and chants made by Rangers supporters. It is important to emphasise that the Act does not set a proscribed list of phrases or words, which are criminalised. Creating such a list would merely provide the opportunity for the law to be exploited. (Yes they did actually say this!) The purpose of the law is to cover offensive behaviour likely to incite public disorder. The application of the new law is a matter for the Police, the Crown and the Courts, in the light of the facts and circumstances of each individual case.”

Basically the huns can sing songs that are illegal in the Scottish Courts and banned by UEFA, but as long as no one takes offence, you know one man’s billy boys is another man’s Beethoven, then its ok!

    I despair of this country.

All – i wasn’t commenting on his integrity – and am certain he has no time for Celtic. However – he is a hearts fan – that may be ‘just as bad’ as a hun…. but he isn’t a hun. (Or at least he isn’t a hun with a bus fare….)

I posted a long piece at the end of the last thread and computer wont allow me to copy and paste it to this thread. Could someone oblige, please.

  9. Kenny Clark failed to award a penalty when Lenny was hacked down in the box at Ibrox in a 1-1 draw at the time of (thin) Paul Le Guen. Some ex-ref at the time said it was an honest mistake.

Mate, without a shadow of doubt Celtic PLC/FC have the wherewithal to take on all comers, nevertheless do they have the will to take on bad men (regardless of guise) in not only standing up for Neil Lennon but in standing up for the common man who, though modest, is proud to stand up and beside Neil Lennon – come whatever may.

I remember you posting the rules on registration of clubs (the gold, silver and bronze registration stuff).

Any chance you can post again?

It occurred to me at the time, though I didn’t ask the question: who decides if or when those rules are applied: is there a committee which meets to consider/approve club applications/registrations.

In particular, who decides that there has (or even may have) been a breach? Does Regan have autonomy on any of this, or Ogilvie. Is there a board or committee which oversees this aspect of the rules; if so, to whom does it report: the membership? the president? chief exec? Chick Young?

  15. There is nothing morally wrong in expressing contempt for what is needlessly damaging, actively divisive or simply an abomination.

To despise and have contempt for a granny killer or a child murderer, jeffrey Archer, the former staff at news of the world…well the list is fairly endless- but scorn for such stains on the fabric of humanity is normal, healthy and natural.

As the Great Armenian Mystic- Philosopher G.I. Gurdjieff called it: OBJECTIVE CONTEMPT.

I believe the SFA, Scottish sports hacks and the “refereeing” fraternity all fall under the same bracket.

I’d be surprised. If we haven’t won it before the split, the SPL will make home game against huns the last or 2nd last game in the hope that league is decided way before then.

  17. Henriks Sombrero on

I have it on good authority that Clark is a St Mirren fan. From someone who knows him.

Regardless, we all know the team they grew up supporting is irrelevant once they join the black brotherhood known as Scottish Referees. They know they have a common goal and that is to hinder Celtic at any turn if they want to be favoured. Even when they retire it’s all about the after dinner circuit and how many anti Celtic jokes and anecdotes they can tell.

  20. I hope Stewart Regan had witnesses when Ogilvie told his story re EBTs at Poundland and Swinecastle.

  21. Such a shame Murray stated yesterday it will be impossible for them to buy rangers from Whyte…

Would-be Rangers owner Brian Kennedy has confirmed that the Ibrox playing squad have got walkwaway clauses in their contracts after accepting three month pay cuts.

Yesterday administrators Duff and Phelps informed Kennedy that his conditional bid for the club had been rejected.

The Sale Sharks owner had hoped to bring Graeme Souness in as part of his management team but that now seems highly unlikely.

As part of his bid process Kennedy was involved in discussions with Duff and Phelps which included a look at the contracts re-negotiated to avoid playing redundancies.

Speaking to the Daily Record this morning Kennedy admitted: “As things stand, we have players who have inserted clauses into their contracts which enable them to get out at the end of the season at a reduced value.

“They or their agents are probably going to be talking to other clubs because of all the uncertainty which surrounds Rangers.

“These guys will want to know who is going to be the owner? What are his plans going to be for the squad? How stable is the club going to be financially? What is the strategy of the owner?

“So the administrator needs to move quickly now to chose a best bidder. They need to chose the buyer and grant him a period of exclusivity in order to get this deal done.

“I hope that will be done with Paul (Murray of the Blue Knight) because he definitely has the right intentions for the club and understands what is needed.

“So hopefully he can get in next week and start talking to the players and the manager and making all the plans that need to be made.”

It took over a week of negotiating before the Rangers players accepted pay cuts ranging from 25 to 75%
