Find how best to use Scott Brown

815

Neil Lennon will be delighted to have secured his captain, Scott Brown, on a new long-term contract which sees the player tied to the club until after his 30th birthday in 2015, with the club having an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.

Scott joined Celtic in 2007 and played central midfield until last season, when he was occasionally used wide right, to great effect.  Reflecting some of the conversations we had earlier this week with Georgios Samaras, who has recently been a revelation wide-left after years of frustration as part of a front pairing, Scott seemed to revel in the space the wider position allowed him to exploit.

Before joining Celtic Scott made his name playing almost as an auxiliary striker at Hibernian, where he would burst into the box with well-timed runs but at Celtic he is more commonly anchored in a defensive midfield role.  As a consequence, despite having played more games for Celtic than Hibs, and playing for a team who attack far more often, he has still to match his Hibs goals scored total at Celtic.

Unfortunately it was all to real for a 17 year old dragged out in the early hours to be locked up for being in the section with the green brigade recently

Only being allowed out by the Lord Advocate stepping in

Since the press ran a week of stories with butcher ranting about the sending off, I now look forward to parity of cover. A full week of paper articles, tv segments and pundits all angrily pointing out that thems got 3 points when they should have got 1.

Great post m8 but it’s down to all Celtic fans to bring this up and I for one will be calling Clyde the morra night and I am going to ask when is something going to be done about their cheating and diving because it’s being going on since smith came back.

Jelly legs, naysmith, Boyd, Kevin Thompson, Miller, Lafferty, Broadfoot and they have been instructed by smith and fat sally and it’s time we get it out there because I will be calling it blatant cheating when I call.

All week a lot of idiots talking about the kayal incident and it means they don’t need to talk about their problems but I know they can put through who they want but you have to be fly about it and pretend to be on for something different as I did last year talking about them in Manchester lol and after I made my point I was cut off but I still got my point out there.

    Brilliant stuff m8!

Btw, where will you be putting your point so that I can look out for it ?

    Hail! Hail!

  4. Nice sized snow flakes falling here , 18 miles inland from Dundee. Also some patches of blue sky ,dont expect the game is in danger.

Feeling a bit nervious about our central defence .

  5. Good luck Hen1rik. But Clyde rarely allow pertinent points on air. Dont expect a call back. Unless you tell them you want on air to call for Lennys sacking, they’ll give you top billing then.

IT COULDN’T be said that things aren’t going Rangers’ way. They might once more have failed to in any way convince, but the fact is they won for the first time in three outings courtesy of an own goal from Alex Keddie and a penalty that was softer than a marshmallow.

Has anybody ever met a decent honest hun who admits to being embarrassed over the cheating of their players and the ‘honest mistakes’?

  8. Stewart Fisher – Sunday Herald:

MAYBE taking the ball to the corner flag late on against Dunfermline is acceptable after all.

Ten days ago Celtic were castigated in some quarters for settling for a 2-1 home victory against the Fife side but there were moments during this victory by an identical scoreline which made that look like a walk in the park.

After a couple of games without a win, and another week of boardroom worries, a relieved Rangers side duly moved seven points clear at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, for the best part of 24 hours at least. But so profligate were they in front of goal that they required a fortuitous Alex Keddie own goal and a hotly disputed penalty to do so, while Keddie also spurned a late free header that really would have put the cat amongst the pigeons in the title race.

  9. The Huns’ penalty yesterday sums up everything that is wrong with Scottish football.

I can understand refs being conned, I can understand that some penalties will look soft at second glance.

But it baffles me that such an obvious dive is rewarded with a spot kick, when the referee has a perfect view of it.

It was a cast iron yellow card for Aluko.

I await the media outrage that greeted the ICT player’s sending off against us…

I was always under the illusion HIGH Blantyre was for the real sellik man -)

  11. Top of the morning to you all from a bright, still, but bitterly cold Fife. There has been a scuffle of snow but conditions at Dundee should be perfect if they are like here, and of course if they pay their electricity bill and have the undersoil heating on.

I should be happy and contented this morning but the penalty against the Pars and the S.o.S. quote from Strathclyde Police about the Green Brigade have got my hackles up!

Seriously though what should we expect when this man is in charge of affairs at Strathclyde Police: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQJtQcMcYmU
