The proposed SFA rule change, that clubs must conduct an investigation into prospective new owners, went through unopposed at the Association’s AGM, currently underway at Hampden. No formal rules must be observed during this investigation, not even the ‘Gandhi criminal rule’ postulated by (still) SPL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, so a club can look into the matter as deeply as they see appropriate and the former owner can claim he was “duped” after the money appears in his bank account.
This does not strengthen efforts to keep unfit people from owning Scottish clubs, if anything, it provides errant clubs with a defence. Previously it was explicitly the club’s responsibility to ensure owners were fit and proper, now the club’s responsibility is limited to carrying out an unspecified value judgement. Tune in soon to hear “We carried out an investigation consistent with best practice, why punish us?”
In this instance, value judgements are worth as much as Ibrox valuations. It’s not the rules that are wrong, the only problem is one club didn’t respect the rules and doesn’t like the medicine.
No mention yet of the dark Fifa cloud hanging over the Association. Perhaps it’s slipped their mind.

Manuel Preciado has died of a heart-attack just one day after agreeing to become the new coach at Villarreal.
Bit of a shocker.
Rankers come to paradise behave like neds, those neds(Diouf, Boughera and McCoist) called in front of the countrys ruling football body the SFA , escape without a minutes ban from the pitch and the dugout between them
McCoist and Jardine have the hoardes marching up to Hampden, Jardine a senior club official actively and also with impunity on the steps outside hampden joins in the total disrespect by derograrty banners and speeches of the SFA, in public statements McCoisthas been allowed with bringing the game into the gutter when he placed members of the new tribunals procedure into seeking police help for their security
Mr Craig Whyte (Rangers owner) continues to publicly laugh at the SFA and Mr Regan
Mr Regan we have succesfully put a lot of fires out
Mr Regan the arsonists(Rankers) are lighting fires again and your a*** is burnt oot yer trousers
Lionsroar67 @ 08:27,
Wasn’t there some statement from the SFA before the AGM, that all Clubs would be required to sign up to a declaration stating they would abide by the Articles of Association.
Now as Paul suggests in his leader these rules by default are already in place, but why did they pull it? It could have reinforced the rules to any maverick owners/administrators who wish to circumvent the regulations hiding behind some well intended amateurish bumbling benevolence.
Whither the cash-strapped scrofulous Hillbillies the day?
Congrats to Mr Regan. You have confirmed what most of us already know.
The articles of association of the SFA are worth SFA or less than a Zimbabwe dollar (whichever suits).
What’s next? The SFA suddenly find that all the contracts with RFCia players are kosher?
What puzzles me most is how other clubs can stand by and let this happen.
Especially Celtic!
Every club that has ever been punished by the SFA now has permission to take them to court.
Well done SFA. A truly worthless body of spineless worms.
Scotland IS the huns, the huns ARE Scotland.
Move along Timmy.
Nothing to see hear.
It would make you sick – CSC
Sometimes it’s the little things that give them away……….following the game between rangers and Kilmarnock on 18th February 2012,the SPL announced there would be an investigation regarding sectarian songs being sung by rangers supporters at the game.
That was 112 days ago!!!
Unless I have missed it,there has been no announcement on the outcome, nor has there been an update. In fact,as far as I know, there has been nothing whatsoever said about this by the SPL.
What reasonable explanation could be put forward to help the ordinary person understand why such a seemingly straightforward matter should take so long to conclude?
I think those conspiracy theorists among us could be forgiven for thinking the matter has been conveniently shelved in the hope that, given other weightier issues currently ongoing,it will be forgotten about.
As I say, sometimes it’s the little things that give them away.

we, as Celtic fans are on our OWN.
I mean, when does ANYONE
apart from Neil Lennon, fight the fans corner ?
In my opinion, the bored were about to empty
the GB from CP until…..JCGE, transformed the
players and, the rest of the stadium.
Remember the days when the GB started to sing
“F### the SFA” and, the bored/PL took the MSM bait
and said they would DEAL with the big bad GB.
The bored were cute enough to see that, the impact that the GB had on the rest of the, CP library created by WGS was an issue to be swerved.
Hail Hail

Why ‘especially Celtic’?
Regan and Ogilvie represent all of Scottish football.

That is what Brut aftershave does for ye
KK well said and a reminder not to hate and turn into them. Saying that, the champers and Johnny Walker green label are on ice for liquidation day. I will laugh at the bigots and commiserate with the blue noses and invite them into the family.
I see we are linked with Andreas Granqvist. A name i have been banding about for years. terrific signing if it happens.
I mean especially Celtic primarily because I support Celtic and expect them to stand up against this rampant corruption.
Mind you, Celtic boards don’t have a good track record to standing up to the corrupt organisation that supposedly runs the game in Scotland.

Remind me how Jim Farry and Dougie MacDonald lost their jobs?
Regan fails in his duties, it’s Celtic’s boards fault, aye alright then…
No surprise SFA not taking any action!
On another note down in Southend on Sea next week anyone any idea where I can watch the Republic v Spain?
Mea Culpa
This is how it works.
The bored have a gun at their heads when it come round to, SB – renewal time.
Now, with, I would guess….35 – 40k SB’s have been sold at the minute. Meaning that, any pressure the bored were under has gone.
Now watch for an, endless stream of – Bosmans, Free’s, Cheapo-type of player being brought in and, watch for a signing target to be floated by the MSM, just to keep the pretence going for a few weeks more ala – Sol Campbell, Jimmy Bullard etc.
This just in from the “ye couldnae make it up” /Salvador Dali news agency.
Nil By Mouth have just given an award to Larkhall for their splendid initiative on anti-sectarianism.

Villareal Coach Manuel Preciado dies after heart attack, aged 54 RIP.
Regan has drafted a strongly worded letter to The rangers asking them If they could be kind enough to let him know what kind of punishment they would be willing to except
calm your farm bhoys. If the bored ranted and raved and gave away the advantage to allow the red tops to get distracted into making this a Celtic issue and we lost the war would you be happy with that ! With all the gunpowder sitting under iborcs there is no danger in waiting for the spark that sends rangers into history . The future will be another contender but it won’t be rangers. Good things take time, chill.
Absolutely scunnered wi all these hun extinction deadlines.
All i want to know is…WHEN can I bring the ice-cream oot the fridge ?

I’ve given it as long as possible to see if my feet were going to return to normal size, they’re still swollen so I won’t make Hamilton today, very disappointed that I won’t manage to have a wee swallie with the good company that will attend the meeting, maybe next time.I’ll have a bet on every race at Hamilton, just to see if it would have ended up an even better day,if that’s possible.

Is that crowd likely to be accurate?
Kev Jungle,
What do you want? £6 million signings? Club going into unsustainable debt? You don’t have a clue how a company should be run and remain solvent, go along to the bigotdome and join all you’re like minded friends who think everything should be done on the never never

I believe that D&P set a new deadline for this. It’s now Julember 32nd….
I think it’s becoming clearer by the day that whatever wrongdoing Rangers have done and continue to do, no-one will punish them to any great extent.
We have experienced the ‘Save Rangers’ campaign in full flow for the last few years and they aren’t going to let it fail at the final hurdle.
Even when the big tax case hits, it will be a case of ‘so what, big deal, let’s move on’.
Already, they are talking about a tour of Germany, renaming Murray Park and signing Gattuso.
Unbelievably, Ogilvie is still orchestrating things at the SFA
I’m now convinced more than ever that we’ll be playing them next season and it will be the same old same old..
