The James Forrest Feedback Club were quiet last night. I’ve no idea if James will rediscover his form on a sustained basis, or if his limbs will allow him to attain his potential, but it was good to see him running at defenders with confidence again.
He got the measure of John Rankin early on. Thereafter the United marker could do little more than block James whenever they faced-off.
I’ve been impressed with Dundee United during this series of games. Fojut held things together remarkably well at Hampden, you can see why we signed him subject to a medical, while Ryan McGowan was clearly their best player at Celtic Park, notwithstanding his late lunge at Liam Henderson. Well done to McGowan for coming onto Twitter to share apologies and congratulations.
Nadir Ciftci’s swagger reminded me of Jackie Dziekanowski in his latter days as a Celtic player. He’s probably found his level at United, where he can turn it on at will, but the modern game is looking for something different.
Loved the moment when a fouled Nir Bitton ruffled the hair of his assailant, Aiden Connolly. Nir is growing by the week, I’m working hard to avoid comparisons. We’ve not seen much of an edge from him since that, mistimed, tackle against Ajax, but he could do with some of that in-your-face attitude others in the midfield have.
Not been online much since the game, what suspension have the SFA offered Paul Paton after his altercation with Anthony Stokes?

Ronny detractors – he’s not even been in post for a full season yet ffs.
A sense of entitlement/superiority and a misplaced belief that greater resources corellate directly with success (see EPL failures in Europe), is getting in the way of enjoying a really exciting time for Celtic. And it gives me ball-ache.
Just enjoy it.
Maybe, just maybe, if things go right, we will one day look back on Ronny’s first season or two as the beginning of something great.
Belief and hope always trump doubt and negativity.

The reality is that in every League, top teams are regularly beaten by inferior sides. Its happened to Barca/Chelsea/Man City in recent weeks. The lower teams are also more motivated in the one off Cup Competitions as they represent their only chance of a trophy.hence Trebles are hard to come by and this year will be no different.
Celtic struggled up to the Gran Canaria trip, since then they have been transformed, the football is now terrific, we can moan about who will be away next season or whatever or else we can just sit back and enjoy the present time. Each to their own but I know which option I prefer.

Common sense would tell you to totally change the whole playing ethos of a club,takes more than 3/4 of a season.To possibly win a treble at the same time would be a fantastic feat,but not the end of the re-building.
If the board do sell VVD,and Denayer goes,and the board dont back RD with suitable replacements,I cant see how the manager can be judged on Europe.

Nice touch indeed, but would have no impact if we did not have so many CQNers taking part.
Good luck to you and indeed all LMS4 bhoys and ghirls. I sub Caityrollercoaster and Deccyrollercoaster for comp based on a 50/50 shared payout. So maybe this one will give them ( and me) a return or maybe not.

How much better ? Name one club who qualified out of the CL group stages with a smaller or similar budget ? Not sure who’s left in the EL, but I bet your bottom dollar there won’t be many with smaller budgets.

Loving being a celtic supporter right now.
Playing great football with players, almost to a man, vastly improved vs last year.
Loved the football played on Wednesday night.
Loving that our manager has shown mental fortitude and has been backed by our board.
Loving that he overcame the usual tabloid orchestrated, anti celtic tune which many of our malcontent and less enlightened consumers danced to.
Loving that despite all that is being achieved celtic are still giving some perma malcontents their personal fix of bitter misery.

I walked and talked with D U fans leading up to the game at Hampden and also away from the ground at tannadice, my 12 Y O son thought it was great that we mixed…….Huns / scumbags is far too harsh…..IMHO.

Roma Curva Sud turned their backs on the team when Fiorentina went 3 up .They then left the stadium and returned at full time to vent their rage at players who were compelled to stand under the Curva.
Fiorentina could have scored 5 / 6.Another great shift from the excellent Salah.I am surprised that Chelsea let him go.
