    Delaney’s, I was at that gae at Kilbowie 40 years.

     

     

    Despite my liking of the Bankies, I was absolutely beelin at the end of that game due to our inept performance , it was a shocker. About a month later we played the Bankies again in a rescheduled game, the original was abandoned, and again it was another totally inept performance. We drew 1 1. I was beelin after that game too.

     

     

    Jimmynotpaul, Pollok had a stonewaller refused in thr first half. Tony was in the ref’s ear at half time about it. He basically said, the ref was the only person inside the ground who thought it wasn’t a penalty.

    I saw a couple of your posts from Oz, looks as if you had blast and that the Oz Celts looked after you.

     

    Could be all change in the juniors the season after next, majority of clubs have voted to start ball rolling to join pyramid league.

    I thought Tosh was one of the Bhoys, as a wee daftie Peter Grant lived in our scheme even though originally fae Chapelhall, he was down to earth with us wee eijits (only about 16 back then) anyhow I love Celtic fans living the dream KT is just a wee star although I also appreciate Broony just as much, not sure if I misread this but Grant & McStay are playing with Clyde, Peter & Paul’s sons…. mon the Clyde :-)

    BP I was at that Celtic vAirdrie final. My pal Tosh put in a great cross for Pierre’s goal. Preferred the game in 1975 when I was 9. Cesars last game.

     

     

    *the Pierre game was the poorest final I ever saw, such an anti-climax considering it was our first trophy in 6 years and should have been a pick me up after the raith game.

     

     

    I had a few mates that flew over for it and were supplied tickets by an airdrie player, they were in their end, without colours, and left at half time as the bigotry was so bad and watched the 2nd half in a nearby pub. I believe that Petec’s buddy Macca came on as a sub for the Diamonds.

     

     

    Big Billy’s final game was my last live SC Final. I was in the enclosure opposite the main stand with a couple of mates, one of whom went tae the Vale of Leven Academy but loved the Celts as much as me. In came a bunch of airdrie supporters and started shouting about Irish bassas ans other colourful language.

     

     

    I’m actually a mild mannered jovial wee mhan but I lost it that day shouting “c’mon the kafflicks, c’mon the Popes 11”, fearing the worst until they all ran away but as they did one wee oulder one turned tae me and said “I’m a kafflick tae son and only came here with my mates”, suppose that was alright then.

    Delaney’s, I have tried to put our two games at Kilbowie in the horrible 77/78 season out of my mind.

     

     

    Gerry, the Showpark where East Kilbride Thistle play their home games , gets waterlogged very easily. I checked their website yesterday, they have only played one game at home since September last year. I don ‘t know if they have used EKFC ‘s K Park at all in that time.

     

     

    The Beith fans had a flag, a black and white version of the British flag , with Beith Loyal on it.

     

     

    The Beith number 9 looked a bit like Griff before his hair weave.

    Who cares how good the final was Tommy Burns final & giving the Maestro a chance to rid the Raith game, for me, he knows far, far less about Celtic than your good send the 1995 cup win was amazing :-)

     

     

    Eskecialky since the “Airdrie” fans where I live seemed far more prominent back then :-)

    Heading home tomorrow to not so sunny EK after 11 nights in Benalmadena. Watched the 3 games since I’ve been here in The John Lemon – a great place to see the Celts and in great company. Paul and Angela do a great job and have been privileged to meet a good few guys from all over Scotland and beyond. If you are ever in Benalmadena there is no better or more welcoming Celtic place to be than the John Lemon. Hail Hail.

    I played in the same Saint Tams team with Tosh against a Saint Pat’s Coatbridge team with Peter Grant. I was in midfield in direct opposition to PG. He was the dirtiest most sleekit player I ever played against. Never liked him from that day till now. :))

    Am a couple of years younger but by all accounts Peter Grant was head n shoulders above anybody in the North Lanarkshire area …..

     

     

    By the way St Pars is the second best parish to St Augustine’s and St Pats high school always second to my school St Ambrose …… although not getting into a dhsagreent with all you St Tams Bams on here :-)

    Well that was not the most entertaining game this season, too frequent I my opinion. Was watching the game via my phone up in Aberfoyle, got home to find the ST forms in. Phoned my daughter and within five minutes she put £514 in to my account and I renewed our tickets. Never spent over a grand so quick!!
