Hapoel threat has merit, fabrications don’t make SFA report

790

Hapoel Beer-Shiva delivered Olympiakos first defeat in a Champions League qualifying match in six years. The Greeks have competed in the group stage every season since, holding their own throughout the period, so getting knocked out by Hapoel was the equivalent of losing a Scottish Cup semi-final to a lower-league club.

Hapoel are not better than Olympiakos, not nearly so, but they were good enough to progress when they got the breaks. Anyone who thinks we’ll easy past them into the group stage is being ridiculously complacent.

I’m trying to avoid the nonsense coming out of Ibrox while we have more important things going on, but good grief! Please, please, have them follow through on the nonsense of ditching their legally contracted Puma strips to wear something else.

That stadium seems to be a beacon attracting stupid people doing stupid things.

You’ll note the INDEPENDENT SFA report on crowd at the Scottish Cup final recorded no assaults whatsoever on Newco players. This clearly caused some dissonance at the media organisations who reported utter fabrications after the game.

Never mind, Newco is in the same good hands which were on the tiller when their disastrous EBT plan was enacted, and the players who benefited from EBTs are front and central of Newco media coverage.

If you can’t see how this story ends, you’re not looking.

Decent start for the newly-promoted team playing their first season in the top league.

Will need to start winning some games to achieve their 55 point target.

Missed the 2nd half, not a bad point for the

    newly promoted side,think they’ll make a

decent fist of it this season, could even finish

    top 6.

  5. Will be driving tomorrow as we hammer Hearts. Anyone know what time it will be shown later on Celtic TV? Can’t find this info online. Would it be 10pm? Then I just need to avoid radio, CQN, helpful eejits, etc.

  6. Reality check for the MSM.

Hamilton will struggle to win a game this season, they are dire. And yet Sevco struggled to break them down.

Easiest possible start for them and they fluff it. Imagine they’d been at Pittodrie or Tynecastle? They’d have been humped.

I think every team in the league all be able to beat them, some quite comfortably.

Will Waguero’s injury speed up the Van Persie signing? Seems to have gone a bit quiet on that one……

  9. Just switched on Shortbread – what’s with the post-match ‘Piano Sonata No. 2 In B Flat Minor’ (by Frédéric Chopin) theme music?

    Did I miss something? :-)

Massimo Donati has a Celtic tattoo.

  11. Turned on SKY to get some gen about the deid team’s game: 2 of their players and a supporter summing things up. Even McCann reckons the Accies deserved a point. So, probably they deserved to win.

Not sure the MSM do reality!

  13. Every sevco cheerleader got a wake up call today even there deluded supporting hordes they are going no where they are a very average side whose big name signings Barton & Kranjar are just there to load up there pension. It is a long season & this lot will be lucky to finish mid table

But the propaganda will still be pumped out relentlessly about there return to the SPFL but lets face reality this lot are going nowhere soon

    That really is hideous.

  15. You know we can go on all we like (and yes I am aware that I do on one subject) about behind the scenes skullduggery, but football has a way of righting itself where it counts for everyone – On The Park.

I have no doubt skullduggery took place in 2011 to allow RFC a bite of CL money to pay the wee tax bill, heck SFA cannot even get their story straight, but at the end of the day Malmo and Maribor made sure on the park that it didn’t matter.

Today Hamilton told us that mighty as the media portrayed the mighty Gers, that football might not agree with the script.

TRFC look good going forward but error prone in defense. A one all draw v Hamilton- how is that going to be spun?

Check the three articles on CQN Magazine about an alternative reality that today’s result suggests is much nearer the truth.

  17. The New Rangers had 63% of possession. They conceded seven free kicks to Accies nineteen. That might be roughly what would be expected when considering the Possession difference. Let`s see if that hold true for Celtic games. I know it didn`t last season.

    The other a distinct possibility

  20. Sevco finding out that it’s a wee bit more difficult playing against full-time pros instead of part-timers who also have day jobs.
