  1. Toure is a class act.No-nonsense centre half with a bit of football in him.Last season my heart would have been in my mouth. With Toure there you feel a confidence in the defence that was lacking before.

BR also knows how to PR.Another class act.

I said yesterday that I would settle for a point today and be ecstatic with three.

My reason was because of the high wire intensity of our CL qualifying games, with no margin of error. Plus the possible form dip that often follows such games.

    This evening, I’m officially ECSTATIC!

Hooper made a career decision which he expected to turn out well for him, higher profile leading to a cap.

Turns out it was a dunces cap. Badly advised or didnae listen.

I wish him well, but he knows now he should never have left Celtic.

Agree with you about Sinclair, just talking about the Sutton comparison with my brother in law, big name players who lost their way and became heroes at our own dear place. Here’s hoping….

Just polished off the ice drinks at full time and now on the white Rioja….you’re right, life is good.

    All the best Timland.

  5. Lots of positives today.

Brendan’s tactical acuity making a number of telling changes in formation and personnel.

Scott Brown showing off his arrogance and hunger again.

Kolo marshaling and cajoling his fellow defenders.

Sinclair’s lung bursting run from just outside our box to the Hearts 6 yard box to guide in the low cross from Leigh.

Forrest’s return of confidence although I’d like to see him more involved.

The media narrative coming to a screeching halt.

    Wednesday can’t come soon enough.

    Agree!

The grass is not always greener, neither are the pound notes.

    Will they ever learn?

  7. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Well done Brendan and Celtic. Great start for Scott.

Had a wee flashback to MON’s first game with the late winner.

Waiting for the media hounding Walker for not deliberately missing the (non) penalty, like they did with Guidetti……

Both Gary Hooper and Kelvin Wilson asked Neil Lennon to bring them back to Celtic.

Why is wallaca a grass ?

    ————-

I googled it, was hoping it was some juicy rumour but nope apparently at the cup final Wallace told the ref he’d been hit by a Hibs fan and the ref told him to don’t be a grass

    ###

    Yeah, because that really happened.

Someone posted that account on the interweb as a joke and people have believed it.

The story itself is now the joke, hence the banners etc.

  10. Did that we diving bassa Walker take a dive when Broonie went near him towards the end of the game? I heard Crocker mention something but Shockeroonie no replay so i just figured it was a dive

  11. It will be while till we see a goal as good as our second today, Scott’s pace is phenomenal, I can see an amazing link up with our forward players on the horizon.

Get a def middy sorted and we should be good to go IMO.

Still flabbergasted at his pace, been some time since we have seen that from a Celtic player.

  12. ABURNTOUTCASE

    Thught Watt did OK.

I can see him scoring a few for the mini’s.

    Good luck to him.

Couldn’t understand why Lennon couldn’t or wouldn’t be the father figure the lad obviously required when he was with us.

    So many “what if’s”.

Its the cost of a football club/company in Govan. :-)

  14. Watt?

I’m wanting the bhoy to do well, get ahead, even today against just not enough

    for us to lose.

Hopefully Hearts pump the newest team in the league with a couple from Tony.

That’s the steak pie demolished, mashed tattles, turnip, peas, pickles & beetroot, my wee maw will be turning in her grave, if she put that down to me 10yrs ago I would have turned my nose up, anyway back to the duty free Smirnoff, no work till the 18th of August so hopefully by then it will be Happoel Beer-Sheva 0……with an away leg to defend

If we make the CL group stages do a Benfica fight and scratch for 3rd then an EL run could be lovely

  16. Pace? Just watching this guy Musa for Leicester, he looks To be about 3 mph slower than a Porsche 944 turbo. . Great to watch players like that.

  17. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Loving Brendan’s substitutions. You can really see the meaning in them. Contrast with Ronny couldn’t be greater.

  19. Rock Tree Bhoy on

Felt a wee bit sorry for Neil McCann today, there he was sitting in the studio at full time wi his wee face tripping him, gutted he looked, and who swans in and sits beside him but our manager looking elated. Poor Neil, he kept looking at his shoelaces and clearly couldn’t say any of the usual tripe he gets away with. Its gonna be a long season for Neil, assuming Sky dont fire him for his complete lack of objectivity. Here’s hoping.

  20. CultsBhoy - sees right through Lawwell and the Board on

Looking at the impact of a proper manager .. I wonder if Lawwell…

    A) concedes that you get what you pay for?

    B) realises he must keep away from football matters?

    … Me neither!

  21. I think we can all agree we definitely need a proven striker,,and i will say again Liam Henderson is far better than S Armstrong.and Neil Mcgregor.

  22. Evening folks,

Absolutely delighted with the result today.Especially as we had a lightweight midfield up against an intimidating physical side. Man of the match for me was big Toure. Won most of the balls in the air that helped significantly to combat their aerial threat. Big O’Connell won his fair share of balls in the air as well during a difficult afternoon when the wind played it’s part.

Also big Toure’s experience, organising the others around him and also his reading of the game was outstanding. Broonie and Forest had their best games for the club in a long time.

Sinclair’s winner was all about pace and a class finish.

I liked Brendan’s interview after the match, he acknowledged that at the moment there is much work to be done and needs a few more players, but he has asked the players dig in when the going gets tough and also to stay calm if we lose a goal. He believes at the moment that it’s more important to get the mental attitude right with the players and that the technical improvement will come with time.

Very interesting interview, I have no doubt that we have a top manager, who knows what he is doing and critically will call the right tactical shots at the correct times during the game when required.

I think six months from now the team will be unrecognisable in playing style from what we say today and we will have made great strides.

The treble for me, and if we don’t make the champions league group stages, a long run in the Europa league is a distinct possibility for me.

Have not had as good a feeling about the direction of the team since the early days of MON. We in for the good times again.

    HH Dan

  23. Scott (Billy Wizz) Sinclair is so fast that the two Cousins of William who tried to punch him after he scored …both missed him.

“The hand can’t hit, what the eye can’t see”

I am sure Anne Budge will be forwarding the video showing attempted assault to Police Scotland and banning them both for life……
