  2. GFTB

Should I be worried that I agree with you?!!!!!

Missing days on end here and even when I do have a gander I’m reluctant to get involved.

A fantastic run came to an end today and I just wanted to give our team my thanks.

    Loving these days.

Nothing is perfect and I’m all for us getting better but I am still appreciating what we have.

It would be amazing if this was normal and maybe it will become so but we have seen bad times and if you cannae be happy in these times then I really do wonder!

    PS

Missed your flounce….. glad your back…… but if you wanna do it again to give me a giggle go ahead :)))

    Anyway duty calls.

Please stay positive. The end of such a run after the, initial disappointment, is a time to recall.

    Roll on Wednesday :-)

No more flounces, am going to try something new, it’s called “self moderation” otherwise known as think before you post :-)

My 6 days off the blog was refreshing but rubbish in equal terms :-)

Still gutted I missed going to the bar for you at the last Hoot

On the fitba front, I think Brendan is more impressive by the day and like a lot of us hopefully learning by his mistakes :-) :-)

  5. Real sense of disappointment today however what disappointed me more this season was watching fans leaving the League Cup final before the team had lifted the trophy !

I hope we never take winning for granted !

  6. Just logged to to say a huge thank you to Brendan, his staff and all the players who have contributed to such a fantastic record.

Today was not our day but the past 18 months have been absolutely fantastic for every CFC supporter.

This is a record that will last a long, long time or until we manage to beat it in 2019!

Just a pity that it was the Minis who did the deed!

    HH

  7. I am now fully reinvigorated, after watching again the fabulous James Gordon documentary “Celtic ’67”. A great tonic on a dark and dismal Sunday. Highly recommended to refresh the parts. HH

  8. Celticrollercoaster supporting @WalkWithShay on

If MrsCRC had offered me a 69…..game unbeaten record at the start of last season, I would have been deilghted. Equally, I am disapointed with the manner of the defeat today. We were well beaten.

Time to lick our wounds and re-group. How many points are we behind the league leaders?……

  9. GERRYFAETHEBRIG .it was feckin quiet when you flounced can you fliounce again. only kiddin my glenboig/ coatbridge pal hh.

  10. PIG PACKY

Now you have highlighted my spelling mistake the blog police will be filing it as evidence that will be usedagainst me on the odd occasion i post something decent.

  11. Fanatic

Know you are not a fan of Bitton and I’m not trying to pull your chain, but do you think we could have done with him at the back today for his composure?

No guarantee that he wouldn’t have been as poor as others but I believe that when we have as much possession as we normally do that he isn’t really defending, he is actually improving those possession stats giving the team a starting point to play from and if they don’t have the ball….we don’t need to defend!

Thought he was badly needed and missed today.

  12. How the hell did Liverpool manage to flog Jordon Ibe for 15 million?

On today’s evidence describing him as a footballer would be erroneous.

No Glenboigness here apart from one crazy night at the dancing and having to sneak out of some burds ground flat window at 7am and walking coltswood Road home back to reality as a very young Bhoy :-)

Apologies about the flounce if ever a next time I will keep it to myself, we learn from our mistakes (I think)

  14. Good evening bhoys and ghirls,

I haven’t posted recently due to personal circumstances but as someone who has “followed the boys” since my first game at Muirton Park in 1971 I wanted to say what a privilege and joy it has been to witness the achievements of this current squad of players with Brendan at the helm. Truly great times to be a Tim and made all the sweeter by the fact that the MSM, the SFA/SPL and all their cronies hate what we are doing. Karma is a bitch!

All we need now is a hover pitch!

    GIRFUT!

PS: Madmitch and Neganon I love you xxxx

    Prestonpans Bhoy 6.01pm

That will be a sore one, but hopefully you will have many better Monday’s than them, you certainly have since Brendan cane on board :-)

  16. Every team, every player goes stale at some stage. There is a mental fatigue & there also comes a period when the body just has had enough and just won’t perform to the same level as it had been.

It has nothing as JimBob facetiously said to do with going to bed early.

The mid term break in Dubai should certainly help but we also need to trust some of our fringe players.

The reality is that the danger signs were there in the 17 League games prior to today’s game we had dropped more points than in 38 games last year.

We need to dig in over our next 4 games and not lose any ground to our opponents.

Hopefully get a couple in & come back a refreshed side.

However at this stage we cannot take this League Title for granted.

I am confident we will win it but at this point of time we have a battle on our hands.

  17. THUNDER ROAD

He certainly would have been no worse though for a big guy he does not win many headers.

He has played well recently but still has a tendency to ballwatch and get wrong side of man.

Both centre half’s were guilty of that today.

Our failure to press today allowed to many long balls to go into dangerous areas.

I think Bitton would be successful in some of the European leagues as a midfielder but not a defensive one.

His attributes are skill and passing.

  18. GERRYFAETHEBRIG as a young bhoy like your goodself remember playing football on the pitch between glenboig and the brigg there were a small industrial estate opposite can you help.lol.

  19. GreeninbingleyinOslo on

Sincere thanks to Brendan and all the Bhoys for a record unbeaten run. I can’t see that ever being bettered.

I am old enough to remember the barren years, when we won nothing and were far from invincible, so 69 games – wow.

There’s a lot of lashing-out on this blog tonight. Fair enough, it’s a blog, that’s what happens.

All I would say is that we have played almost a seasons-worth of games and it isn’t even Christmas yet; a lot of those games were must-wins (CL qualifiers, League Cup, Anderlecht); in some CL games we took real canings, which made me fear for some of the younger players in terms of their mental resilience.

And there’s an unbeaten domestic run to preserve as well.

    Pressure?

No wonder we’ve looked jaded in the past few weeks. When did our season start? July, was it?

We’re knackered in mind and body come December, and no f*****g wonder.

So aye, it hurt to watch that today, really hurt, because I detest that vile mob of Edinburgh bigots, but we are being asked to do the impossible.

While giving each and every SPL club nearly £400,000 off the back of our CL qualification, and being spat at in return for “ruining the Scottish game by being too successful”.

  20. We need to recognise the enormity of the unbeaten run that just finished. This was history making. It is also now gone and we have a league to play for and just suffered a defeat that has been coming for weeks. The extent of it is a surprise, however looking at how we crumbled when under pressure in Europe, maybe that was also coming. Something is far wrong with our defending and we should not be losing 4 goals to a poor Hearts team. I thought Brendan managed the after match interview well today, though he seemed shattered by the extent of the defeat. This week and next will tell us more about our current squad than we might want to find out.

  21. GFTB

Virtual pub mate so if there’s something brewing maybe it’s best just to walk away!

Had hoped to see you there…..next 1 eh!

Wasn’t there for long as I was working.

Got there about 5 and had to leave at 8 to catch my last bus.

It was still worth it even just to walk round the corner going to the BV and the 1st person you see is Fourgreenfields.

Forgetting your wallet was a schoolbhoy error but you wouldn’t have needed it it.

You will never be allowed to forget it but Voguepunter forgetting his passport to go to Dublin will probably never be beat :(

  22. PPB

As long as they have been at the tankings we have given them, otherwise they are just gloaters who hate anything to do with Celtic, f them

Think the park you are thinking of was just called Coltswood park just across from Alexandria Overalls factory ? Only kicked a ball on it a few times Espiside was our “home & away” park :-)

    Thunder Road

I don’t own a wallet, I went to my Saturday overtime shift without my cashline Card, it’s a card that is always in the good lady’s purse, she textd me that day asking how I would buy a round with no money ??? I would have loved to appear with no money but my name is bad enough on here :-)

  24. GERRYFAETHEBRIG. Alexandria Overalls factory thats the one scored a lovely header from a corner there 1971.

  25. mild mannered Pedro delgado on

Here’s to all good Celtic men who are hurting tonight, like me.

Be they centre backs or managers or posters.

Well beat today.in saying that we could very easily have scored 4goals

It was written. not our day

How did this shower with their crap manager remain unbeaten for 69 games

Well they did .so suck it up

  26. Aye.

    69.

    Well done the Bhoys.

And… the congrats are over. Because ye’re only as good as your last game.

    Once in a lifetime…

    Well, that’s gone now.

And if we’re ‘taking one game at a time’…

Well, utter, utter bewildering pish today.

0-4 against a team set up by Craig Levein and led by Kyle Lafferty?

    Read that sentence back.

    FFS. Really?

Held together by Ntcham first-half, ditched at half-time.

Anybody stay OFF their arse in a Celtic jersey? Who tested the pitch on our behalf? Bambi?

NOBODY at the ball game, EVERYBODY off-key and displaying the timing of a Sunday League morning hangover.

If we were going to lose the unbeaten record, I expected a narrow loss to a lucky side.

Today? PUMPED. By the Minis. fFS. Deila-esque flimsines; Vulnerabilities not seen for two seasons. No core strength to the team, no swagger or belief.

A blip? A lightning strike? Let’s hope so. However – and however YOU choose to frame it – once the plaudits are exhausted, the manner of that defeat – Champions league-esque – asks some unsettling questions about our investment, quality, committment and prospects.

Dramatic reset required; suddenly Dons, Dees and Huns are must-wins.
