Kevin I was in PV with marspapa for the game today(jinx)

First game we have watched together since Franny passed and we did mention him a few times

    Keep posting ☘️☘️

The type of Centre Back I would love to see at Parkhead is a John Hughes type who would run through a brick wall to make a tackle the type of Centre Back who would put the ball in to row z when required. The type of Centre Back who in the dressing room would blast any team mate for stupid mistakes but who on the park would coach youngsters through a game not the Boyata or Jozo types who think they are that good they could play in there slippers which I think they both did today.H.H.

  3. Well, it’s been a tough day.

    I’m really gutted.

It had to end some time.

But we will always have our 69. They can’t take that away from us.

  4. Listening to BR’s post match interview – he recognised Hearts were physically stronger in first half .

We have good mid field footballers but only one enforcer and it is an area where we need to strengthen in every sense of the word.

Decent opposition have also recognised that if you press the back four you neuteralise our “game management” ie time to manage the game and so deny opposition of chances as well as creating more for ourselves.

We need a plan B and players who can play it in those circumstances, which is the physical ability to hold up the long ball or win second ball.

Those are the areas where improvement is required.

We now have an interesting league with Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs all capable of taking points off us and each other and The Rangers capable of taking points off them.

It’s called competition and we might just have to get used to it after a full season without it.

You see what competition does is drive up standards which is a good thing all round if games are watched with no sense of entitlement.

The coming months will be interesting to see how Celtic rise to the competitive challenge.

  5. Another reason we should worry now is that if we had lost more games and Sevco had won more they’d be top of the league. Who knew?

Also if they had more money than us, a bigger stadium that didn’t need massive renovations, a credit line from a bank and didn’t have a chairman who is a convicted criminal and a glib and shameless liar we’d be screwed.

I do occasionally have moments where I think Aberdeen could get their act together long enough to challenge us in some way. But I quite like that.

    Life is good.

    Bring on the Jags.

  6. The lurking tit

Ready to pounce with devastating wit and astounding patter…lol….;-)))))

  7. Congratulations to Hearts, fully deserved the win and were the better team all over the pitch.

Thank you to Celtic for a magnificent run, unlikely to be surpassed in my lifetime. How do professional players slip throughout (not just Celtic)?

Onwards to Wed, when the team will need our great support again. HH

  8. Since the Xoronation Cup, how else would I spell it,

I have been privileged to see us win memorable seasons

The lift everything but the Torre Canyon of 67

    9 in a row.

The nail biting Harald and Henrik stopping the 10.

    The MON treble.

    The Rodgers treble

And a fairy tale 69 unbeaten.

    My generation has been blessed.

  9. FAN-A-TIC

Yeah i thought so too, wasn’t he a bit of a bad boy in Russia??

For todays game on that pitch you need someone who can dig in and get it done, not a day for CMcG, the game passed him by.

We move on and if it’s not Kouassi then we need to swallow that and buy one

  11. One other thing.

No Scottish side should be hammering Celtic 4-0.

    We have been warned.

Which make’s the substitution of Ntcham rather than McGregor puzzling.

Also we had a strong midfield ball winner on the bench in Kouassi who again did not appear.

Brendan has identified the defense as an area that requires improving. I am not a football manager / tactician but I, along with a lot of other Celtic supporters, can see that there has been a problem in central defense for sometime. It has been badly exposed on CL outings whereas the lack of real quality opposition in Scotland has allowed our central defensive pairing to ‘flatter to deceive’. Can Brendan get anymore from Dedryck and Jozo? How many times do you coach a player on the basics defence only to see them being ignored?

If your own devastating wit only extends to calling him THELURKINTIT,I reckon it’s an arse-kicking competition wi a one-legged man.

  15. I hope BR knows that every other SPL team will adopt Hearts’ attitude. Every game will be a battle. Absolutely no prisoners will be taken. No protection will be given by the mins.

Question is, do we have the stomach for the fight?

I really hope that we do.

One mistake? Ffs,Big Billy would have been binned after the AC Milan game in 69.

We had a great ten minutes today, then we got hammered. I’m disappointed,so are you,but heyho.

    ======================

Bobby I’m not disappointed, just being my usual sarcastic self, trying to reference the daftness that goes on in our supporters.

Talking to Mrs Big-Cups, post match about our support’s views and reactions, I mentioned the example of Celtic fans moaning about the Lions shortcomings, after our first hurdle fall in defence of the European-cup.

I’m not disappointed at all, a few have mentioned this fact: we won’t see that run repeated.

  17. Congratulations to Celtic for a magnificent 69 unbeaten. Truly remarkable.

In my own way I had to mark this achievement and so with the ground in my back garden sufficiently thawed I planted a young apple tree immediately after the game (which was quite therapeutic for me). That will be my Invincible apple tree and its future fruits will be bountiful. Just like Celtic.

C’mon now Celtic let’s wrap up the back to back treble !

  20. the long wait is over on

Monkey off our backs I hope now.

Incredible pressure on the team not to lose.

Might actually free us up a bit.

In any event what an incredible run that was.

I’m hoping we just start again on Wednesday!

Maybe my head is telling me that today was a lesson, rode our luck for too long etc,but my heart is heavy at a disaster on the day

To quote FOURGREENFIELDS after a spectacularly ill-judged comment from myself

    “That was poor”

I knew what he meant,I’d let people down. I’m pretty sure the players feel the same.

  22. Time for a shower before noon mass.

    Time for reflection and thankfulness.

Well done to Brendan for transforming a tired, unenthusiastic and unimaginative Ronny Delia side into a devastating, dominating team with self belief and hunger.

    Off the pray.

  23. Well we were well beaten today. No need to talk about how the team played. 4-0 tells it’s own story. Players are exhausted. I would like to thank them and congratulate them on a tremendous run of 69 domestic games unbeaten.

I trust Brendan to sort it out with judicious changes from our large pool of players and I’ll be there on Wednesday night to show my support.

  24. Kevin.

    Welcome to the blog.

    You pick your moments!! :-)

Franny was one of the best and I was proud to call him a friend.

    =========================

This bit: “along with a lot of other Celtic supporters, can see that there has been a problem in central defense for sometime”

What is the problem ? I don’t believe you and “other Celtic supporters” even know what the question is, to be frank. Harsh but true. I’m fed up with the easily led, group-thinking and their constant moaning it’s detrimental and inhibits the players on the park.

We as supporters have limited knowledge of the professional game, eh ? Even less on what happens at Celtic park. We latch onto wild irresponsible, sometimes SMSM led nonsense and before you know it Scott Brown is “finished”.

That SB example, is based on factual events.

  27. My friends in Celtic,

Our domestic invincibility had to end at some point.

Were we outclassed ? No. We were well beaten due to our fatigue and attitude.

Ability is only one cog in the wheel that our players and future players need to have.

    Attitude is the key attribute.

Well done to Hearts for a combative performance. I always like to see youth play it’s part.

This journey has been a blast, but a different route is now being planned.

    HH to all.
