  1. Errors associated with slips,Ross County with their uncut grass and watered pitch almost undone us recently, for us to then be suckered in the same way today,is indicative of complacency, and an assumption we would win without going the extra mile.

The team have been terrific, and its been a privilege to have seen every game, however we should now build from a position of strength, and to do so we should establish those who want to stay, and those passing through, and action accordingly, with places in the team for who are long term committed.

We had already achieved a record, today we were prevented extending it,that’s all, and no amount of triumphalism associated with our defeat will change that.

  2. I remember Paul67 posting an article a few years ago titled ‘give players an excuse to fail and they’ll take it’. I’ve been hearing for the past couple of weeks about how tired the players are. Brendan mentioned it during the week. It’s something I really don’t like about the modern game. Some players may be tired yes, but an entire team, I don’t think so. Only Tierney has player pretty much every game yet even he had been rested during the week. All of the first 11 have had spells out of the team for one reason or another.

We have 4 big games coming up. None of them will be easy. We need to get out stuff together and man up. None of this we can’t wait for Dubai nonsense.

Well before my time, as a primary school footballer 1980/81 the finals were played at the Rovers and always remember the running track around Cliftonhill my father informed me back then that greyhounds & speedway (bikes) brought more money into Albion Rovers than football, not sure how true that is but that’s what I remember, in 1980 as wee primary school kids the Rovers has the 2nd biggest playing surface after Hampden, not sure if that is true but it seemed massive when I was 11 !!!!

If you don’t mind me saying, getting to the winter break top of the league andcstill in Europe with the league cup in the bag is massive (like the next 4 games) the Anderlecht 0-1 game I listened to Sutton, Larsson & Hartson after the Anderlecht game, Chris Sutton mentioned how difficult it was being so far ahead and the pressure from the stands, we get through the next 4 league games the Bhoys can recharge the batteries, it’s not always about being tired, I don’t suffer the pressures of our Bhoys but a wee break from your “work” will never be a bad thing…. am only saying that as I have a few days off :-)

  5. GERRYFAETHEBRIG i assume from your post clifton high school is no more. the proddy kids in glenboig if brainy. went to coatbridge high if not so brainy clifton high. by the way thats why.i ended up at st augustines.lol.

  6. Looking back at the goals: they were all down to horrendous errors on our part.

Firstly, Boyatta failing to find KT with a simple pass out of defence (once again we were closed down as we tried to play the ball out from the back). Second, Boyatta again with a hospital pass to CalMac in the middle of the park. Third, an Efe-esque collapse by Jozo. And fourth, a reckless dive by Gordon when it looked as though their player had overran the ball.

That said, we also never looked like scoring. Leigh had 2 embarrassing fresh air shots and hit the side netting when he should have scored. Apart from that we were utterly toothless.

There’s no doubt a nation is rejoicing at this moment, and we need to show character to start blitzing teams again. There’ll be a lot of media looking to sow division in the camp these next few weeks – I hope Celtic fans don’t buy into their agenda.

69 was a magnificent, sexy achievement. I am honoured to have seen (most of ) it. Now let’s get back to blowing teams apart, like we know we can.

The older I get the more I appreciate annual leave, just now 15days in the summer fur school holidays & 5 at Christmas, wee step daughter is self employed and she takes my daughter to school all term and doesn’t take a booking before 10am, next week I will do the School run and she can make her Christmas money, if you are due in next week can you email me and see if my “out of office” is working :-) by the way the woose I am I prefer not being in the office in the lead up to Christmas as I realise many have less than others and in our line of work it’s not the best

  8. Gerryfaethebrig.

I will mail you tomorrow and see if it get an out of office reply. :-)

Coatbrig High is still there but St Patrick’s has gone as well as Columba and St Ambrose but two massive super schools have been built onevin Townhead (old espiside parks) and one in Whifflet, St Augustine’s primary school in bank street still going strong (the one that I remember) still annoys me I questioned you that time, nothing worse than thinking you are correct when you are so wrong, although in my defence I am regularly wrong so I should be used to it :-)

Just saw your post, thanks very much after I posted about the speedway I was doubting myself in case I was talking rubbish which happens frequently !

By the way I read you were with BT in the PV today, in my younger days venturing over to Blsntyre I lived the PV, watched the original Huns get beat by Hearts in the Scottish Cup final. a Celtic v Rangers midweek game (Mark Viduka era) and a few races in the Cheltenham festival but any time over these days it’s the Priory, in truth I even preferred the PV to the Commercial :-)

  11. Thank you Celtic. The last 18 months have been an overwhelming pleasure. And this particular 55 year old is not expecting to see another 69 in his lifetime.

However, the new unbeaten run starts on Wednesday. T’would be good in the next 4 games to see glimpses of Ralston, Kouasi, Hendry, Johnston, Aitchison….

    3 more sleeps ;-)

  12. Beginning to get really frustrated in the manner of today’s defeat

    Here’s a headline

Brendan Rogers suffers his first domestic defeat, since joining Celtic June 2016.

    June 2016 – 69 domestic games ago.

  13. GERRYFAETHEBRIG not as wrong as me sometimes. nice to hear updates from the brig as i have lost touch with my cousins up there. definately bridies and drinks on me next time im up. god bless gerry and hh.

Can I respond to your question last night

We started with the wrong centre forward in today’s game, in my opinion :-))

    Fair play :-)

But the strikers we brought on done less

I thought the Griff worked his socks off but if no ammunition you will get no firepower, still think Leigh is our most potent striker

  16. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

If there is any “blame” to be attached to today’s historical defeat, it may be left at the door of the Celtic Park Boot Room, if there is such a place! : > )

It was the defence that sold the goals. I do not think the Griff got any service.

Next time you get yourself back in ML5 we could get a pint outside my comfort zone… The Big Tree, no a bad Celtic boozer and we might have a wee Cqn conversation and it has Dark Fruits on tap :-)

  19. Gerryfaethebrig

    Watch the first half again

The Griff had 3 fresh air swipes at the ball – unfortunately another who has lost form at this time

  20. CRC

    No it wasn’t

We loose and win as a team

Defending starts from the front, through midfield, into defence and goalie

Far far too many failures through the team, especially to loose as we did

  21. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Cowiebhoy 9.42pm

    Fresh air swipes ?????

That’s the managers fault for keeping him in the bench for weeks :-)

  22. Right might get barred for this but,

Anywhere in Europe Hearts are down to 8 men after 30 min, I know we were crap = read on, but, whats the friggin point of trying to play football and that big orange basteard is elbowing our players willy nilly, scores then gives it the red hand salute. But if a Celtic player scores there (put your finger UP as A shoosh).???

Booked ya dirty fenian beasterd, OK we’ll take that… (WHY)

    Will you Celtic? I’m not.

If we ever let players play for scotland again I’m finished with you and, I FUCKIN MEAN IT….

Before anyone says sour grapes, No, the edinburgh orangies played well, outwith the assaults, eh?, I know…

    But, It’s just an excuse..

Well done WCCSC, back in the fold.

Just popped in to record my admiration and appreciation to and

for our Invincibles … burst our own 100 + year record and extended a new one!!

Well done to all concerned, we should all rejoice and give praise ..and thanks, to an exceptional bunch of players.

The Invincibles will be remembered as a Truly outstanding team and absolute legend status is assured!!

No probs if you prefer Moussa I just think Leigh is a far better goal scorer, I know you mentioned Leigh’s fresh air swipes but got a feeling he done a bit more than Moussa Mishit, by the way I would love any of them to score but I think Leigh works more than Moussa & Édouard put together…. just my opinion and I think the Anderlecht defence would have been worked more with Leigh…. we all have different opinions but against Anderlecht Moussa wasn’t difficult to mark (sometimes without the ball is more important than with it)

Laughatmee grew in confidence, didn’t realise about any salute but am comfortable knowing that shows him up more than our team…. we were rubbish today, it happens, that Brendan’s jacket is in a shoogly peg (that is a joke) roll on Partick Thistle
