I wonder how many more games we’ve played than Hearts this season? We came nowhere near matching their intensity today. Although I don’t think they will match it against any other team.

  2. Jamesgang,

Am heartened at yer disappointment at hide & seek failure…..could be an analogy lol ;-))

CBs – the most valuable commodity on the pitch – less of them around than any other position, least likely to be sold, least likely to come through the academy: a 1M pound defender – let’s hope we get lucky

  4. Simo looked a shadow of his former physical self.

Boyata was all over the place.

Surely they understood that Lafferty would be physical and ref would tolerate.

When teams run at you from centre of field then you can understand centre half being unsure but this was straightforward rough and tumble and neither wanted responsibility.

The forwards and midfield should have pressed more to stop the long ball.

Thought the subs were a good idea but disagree on who went off.

Dembele worked hard as did Armstrong when they came on but the team just seemed disjointed.

A lot of our problems stem from passing out from the back.

Only Brown shows as an outlet and teams no recognize so close him down leaving us with a cycle of backwards and sideways play.

I agree with the idea but we need to put in place a better plan for outlet.

Thought both Brendan & Craig Leveins interviews were excellent, well done Brendan & the Bhoys and Hearts were also excellent today, they put in some shift

This is the first time Brendan has faced a domestic defeat, unbelievable

Great Celtic times we live in

    Hail Hail

  6. What an incredible run…..69 matches.Thank you Brendan and the Bhoys. It’s been a helluva journey.

Just need to start again, beginning on Wednesday.

A defeat has been coming for a few weeks now.

Brendan knows where we need to strengthen.

The 2 Centre backs for sure need replaced.

Jozo looks disinterested and is unreliable .

    Dedryk is just poor.

Maybe we’ll get 2 from Santa.

I said to a Hertz fan at the beginning of the month that December would be a big ask to remain undefeated, too many games and running out of gas. Thought it would happen at Easter Rd which would be more palatable.

Anyway well done on the run Bhoys, if the sheep had got their act together against the Hun then they would be sitting at the top of the league!!!

GK — we have had our monies worth from CG.

Attitude looks poor though and things are not getting better.

RB — we need help in this area. ML is struggling big time.

Some useful defensive performances but he plays like a man on the edge of a nervous breakdown.

CB — they both lack stature and need a lot of work to keep them in focus.

Sloppy play from both is never far away plus JS needs good pitches.

    Area that need work.

    LB — KT needs help.

DM — We don’t seem to have one.

BTB — Nothing to the standard of SP.

No.10 — TR is off the boil, PR might do the trick.

SB is on his way out.

For us he is a jack of all trades and master of none.

CMcG — Not good enough, tidy but limited.

SA — Heads not right, pretty intelligent player but he can be very stupid at times.

ON — bit of quality but needs experience and more support.

EK — needs more time on the park.

MF — we desperately need a proper CDM.

    Forward line …

LG is now only interested in annoying people.

Stealing two inches at corners and the like.

Terrible delivery 80% of the time but who cares he has a good collection of scarves.

MD — not used to marginal SPL pitches in winter.

OE — here to learn, not pull us out a hole.

ScS — class player 30% of the time — not enough as we all saw today.

JF — still got 2 gears to find, looked slightly miffed today so he is growing up.

  11. I am Neil Lennon e El Juarez Bravo on

Thanks Bhoys for an incredible run that I’m unlikely to see again in my lifetime. Credit to Hearts who looked fitter and hungrier than us today and used the pitch dimensions and surface to their advantage. They got their tactics spot on.

I’m sure we’ll see this team now bounce back with four straight wins going into the winter break.

    Hail hail.

  12. BMCUWP,

Lol…..we’ll see how ling it lasts…..cause adult humour with swearies…..isn’t ;-))

    H.H.

  13. Has anyone ever seen so many Celtic players slipping, falling over, losing balance as today?.Just watched Gordon there at the penalty. He even slips making his move towards the ball, leaving him short in his challenge.

  14. What is the Stars on

Hearts were good and thoroughly deserved to win.

    Sometimes in football you lose

Amazing to see two 16 year olds playing for Hearts.

    Sack the Board..bring back Ronny

  15. “RD had his issues but he was never this bad.”

One defeat domestically in 70 is pretty grim, i agree. Sack the board.

    ;-)

  16. It was one of those games that comes around now and then. When everything that could go wrong happens. We really have to sort out our Goalie and Centre back situation. If it means selling Mousse for big bucks to finance the deals so be it.

  17. Good grief, the wallopers have been so long without a league defeat to practice their walloppery that they are in overdrive this afternoon.

Now, I’m annoyed, peeved, looking at some of our defensive frailties and I’m more annoyed about drawn games than the loss today etc etc but I’m also thinking – ahead in the league despite a slip in form, the ability to go and strengthen the squad well beyond that of our competitors. We are in a very good place.

And by the way there are some clubs and clumpanies who would kill to be in our position.

Brendan needs to lift the team. The team need to know that hearts have now set the template for how to damage us in Scotland and get themselves dusted down and ready for Wednesday. We need to back the team.

I’m away to let the wallopers fill their crazy boots

  18. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

BMCUWP……..deary me, it’s the sabbath…..my ole spinster auntie

    reads cqn…. behave!!!

  19. Oops apology , only 2 points clear with game in hand . Think I was still in shock when I posted we were 6 clear.

  20. BARCAMOLESBRO

Welcome !! That was disappointing today especially in the manner we lost it but we pick ourselves up and go again , the backline definetely needs freshened up so we’ll see what January brings

  21. Freak results like today’s happen though the players need to take responsibility for their own personal performances and do better next time. If they do, then in the long run it won’t make much of the difference to the fact that Celtic remain the best team in Scotland and will win the SPFL title this season.

The bigger problem for the club is the team is top dog in a league which is the diddiest of all the diddy leagues in Europe. That’s painfully obvious when we play teams the better teams in Europe. I honestly can’t see how that fact will change any time soon unless either the general quality of the game improves domestically or Celtic find a better league to play in. Can’t see either happening, so it will be more of the same sad to say.

  22. Wee Jamsie and Sinky both like to cut inside. Fair enough, BUT, when their defence is packed tight in the middle, AND we’ve brought on 2 x 6’ plus strikers, why not hit the by line and throw in some crosses?

  23. On the bus back from Tynecastle.

    A couple of things.

A stunningly inept, heartless performance from Celtic today.

However, what an experience it’s been watching this team go an astonishing 69 games unbeaten domestically.

    Thank you Celtic.

Ps what a fitting applause at the end from the support and a magnificent gesture of defiance from Brendan.

  24. Have to say a great big well done to Brendan and the Bhoys for a fantastic probably never to be equalled unbeaten run…. Now we start again….

For some time now it has been all about the “Run” and each game recently has been nail biting to a degree so maybe we can relax a bit and get back to playing free flowing football.

Today I wonder if we were as prepared as we should have been… did we have anyone check out the park as all over it our players were slipping and sliding and losing control … obviously the players had the wrong boots…

We should have expected the battle it was and had battlers playing, not touch players like Calum McGregor who has been pretty poor of late what has happened to Liam Henderson?….Has it been a mistake lending out Ryan Christie for a year? The overload of midfielders that we seem to have had seems to have evaporated….

Finally today was a watershed for our CH’s now young Ajer must get a run in the team …

  25. It was always going to end at sometime but really the way it ended today was a nightmare waiting to happen, we looked a shadow of ourselves never up for the physical challenge we never won a 50/50 ball, too many players not up for it, don’t get me started on our defensive frailties they all stem from CG , i have been shouted down by many on this blog for criticising his playing the ball with his feet ,he has no confidence he simply can’t play this way , our CB’s both need replaced , our corners kicks and throw-ins need to be worked on, if players are tired play players who are not we have a big enough squad.

Great run while it lasted but we are looking for excuses when we all can see the problems on the park just admit it.

    Keeps the heads up.
