Here’s a thought. How’s this for a starting eleven based on the first team players Brendan Rodgers has spent the time and effort to decide they should be brought to Celtic.

    De vries

    Tierney (here already)

    Compper

    Hendry

    Gamboa

    Kuassi

    N’Cham

    Benyu

    Musonda

    Hayes

    Edouarde.

A couple of gems amongst a pile of shite.

    discuss.

I tore my calf muscle, falling up the stairs in my close, last November. Have never experienced pain like it, when I sobered up ;).

My low level fitba career ended in my early 20s after numerous ankle ligament and achilles injuries. All including my calf injury, happened to my left leg

    ————

That’s really weird, as all my injuries were to my right leg. Maybe we can get Rolf Harris to make a threesome, mind you he might take that the wrong way :)

  3. Some of our players were petrified yesterday, afraid and hid.

That’s their own fault and character traits. Don’t see how the mentality can be changed, unless we bring in a psychiatrist to help them address their fears.

They are grown adults, not babies whom allowed the opposition to kick them, and refused to kick them back.

I couldn’t fight sleep myself, but if someone kicked me, one would think that the natural temper would retaliate without even thinking.

Expected Jozo at least to empty that hateful hills have eyes mutant.

It doesn’t make sense to me anyway.

    16 ROADS.

If you give the modern day footballer a excuse to lose he

will, our current lot by and large are the norm, there are

some exceptions, Brendan will know who he can trust when

the chips are down, I think that’s why he was pissed off about

    losing out on JM.

How much exactly are you expecting from £1m SPL signings in Hayes and Hendry? Evidently bought as squad players.

Musonda (a loan), De Vries (a free), Benyu (£50k). Again, while you might find a gem here, how much do you expect from players at this value?

Each signing Brendan has spent money on has been a real success (for Kouassi the jury is out but he showed his quality against Zenit).

You could create a similar list of failures (especially players bought for small fees) under each of MoN, Strachan and Lennon.

  9. St Mirren fans reporting that one of their fans, a young girl was hit by a bottle thrown by Rangers fans in the stadium.

If true, firstly I hope she is not badly hurt, secondly that’s two weeks in a row, Pittodrie last week, for me, there is no way it’s safe for our fans to go there with only 800 tickets.

Athens was On everyone’s mind yesterday

Hertz can be dealt with later.

Biggest game of the season …if they don’t have it prioritised then we really need to start worrying.

The good news is everyone around the playing staff ( active players) are clearly focused.

Failure to strengthen and so on, can just wait!

    Focus Brendan and Bhoys!!

    2 goals can do it!

Bateen I think that Naismith and Lafferty were auditioning for a return to Ibrox during yesterday’s match. Pair of thugs and cowards.

*said that yesterday especially the latter.

  13. i'vehadtochangemymind on

Not the first difficult week in the 7 years but still doesn’t make it feel better. I’d take a loss against hearts for a win against AEK, anyday, even though I feel the EL is more where we’re at. I haven’t seen the wangers red card but it can’t be much worse than repeated dangerous play yesterday.

    The comfortable collective

De Vries was bought to challenge Gordon and cost what £450k? He is was dropped as soon as he made his first mistake and Gordon changed his game to become the passing goalkeeper Rodgers wanted

    Tierney (here already)

Compper – mistake and I have no idea why he was signed and why he doesn’t play.

Hendry – cost a million worth 4 times that.

Gamboa. – cost 1.4m worth about 1m now. Looked ok recently but made a few mistakes when he joined.

Kouassi – folk are telling us we don’t need to sign McGinn cos we have this guy. Plays 1 game in a defeat to Hearts and he joins the whipping boys. Needs games or a loan before we consign him to dustbin. Cost £3m.

    N’Cham

Benyu – project signing would prob get our money back if we sold.

Musonda – signed after Chelsea were reluctant to let him go. Loan and prob cost us a few bob in early loan termination. This guy had a great pedigree but lacked game knowledge which was obvious in his first game v Killi were he disrupted our shape.

Hayes – signed as a squad utility player for 1 million. Prob get the same for him now.

Edouard. – haven’t commented on the others like him Ntcham and Tierney. You could sell these 3 for a combined total of £50m not to mention Moussa at another £25m on top.

So from that lot there is Compper who looks a bum. Given the transformation in other players I’m not giving up on Kouassi.

Beaton would be fearful of being downgraded as Clancy was, for making the correct decision.

*and there lies the problem, the bonkle bigot still has too much influence on the mitbs and not just domestically but with UEFA tae, as much as they get European games they were all left out of Russia by FIFA.

Earlier this week I was watching a Graeme Norton show, it was a repeat of a 2015 episode and the Corrs were on making their come back fae a 10 year hiatus.

Walking the dug this morning I thought of Andrea Corr and wondered why her father-in-law and Denis O’Brien were allowing a bunch of jumped up bigots tae control the destiny of their shares, albeit small as they are, and a pontoon eyed grafter controlling the game. Time they stepped back in again.

I remember the fee quoted for Compper was £800k when we signed, but even saying it was a million, he is then equivalent to Hendry in price (a player signed from Dundee who was let go by League 1 Wigan 6 months prior).

The inference i take from his low price is that Compper is either a) not very good or b) crocked and his team just wanted rid of him. I’m inclined to think crocked as he has played 80 mins in 8 months and has not suffered any serious injuries, rather a plethora of pulls, strains and knocks.

How this passed the notice of our medical team or scouts (in the first instance) is beyond me.

  19. Hi Bhoys

I really don’t care too much about europe.( When it’s on offer like a nice slice of apple pie and cream I’ll take it but wouldn’t care if it wasn’t). I want 10 in a row. THAT WILL KILL SEVCO OFF! So even if the club had to do this to get it (here goes).

    FROM ( mullet and co 2 on 12th August 2018 5:12 pm )

Edouard. – haven’t commented on the others like him Ntcham and Tierney. You could sell these 3 for a combined total of £50m not to mention Moussa at another £25m on top.

That level of cash invested in playing staff would guarantee 10 in a row with european fitba or no.

My sister is delighted he is away fae Clydebank and some dodgy pals. He is a tall handsome athlete living beside a beach in Australia. Young, free and single. Has had 3 dates wi gorgeous Oz girls in a fortnight.

    What’s not to like? ;))

  22. Recent events have questioned the Celtic Board in a variety of ways, are they pro-active,do they have the same intensity as the fans when it comes to Celtics well being.

Clearly their objectives have to be balanced, although recent events, and preparatory work for signings, have not shown them in a good light, equally it appears when it comes to contesting anything with the SFA silence is golden.

They need at this time to emerge publicly and re-establish confidence.

One way would be to add to the decision regarding the 800 tkts for Ibrox, it is being reported By St Mirren today, that there was more violence at Ibrox.

If correct this will be every game this Season where Sevco supporters are in attendance,,therefore the Celtic Board must declare to the SFA and Police Scotland that based on events, Ibrox appears high risk for the 800 fans, and refuse tickets.

This will give Sky/BT a decision to make re broadcast, with resultant revenue implications,if Sevco do likewise it could hit their revenue significantly.

Lets get out and let them know who we are not getting messed about.

PS. Can anyone confirm the guy who runs our low key PR is a Hearts fan. Tell me it aint so.

McGinn went to Villa for cash. Good luck to him, it’s a short career.

*this blog and other sites like it are full of punters who moved away for a better life. Many years ago I heard an interview with Kevin Keegan where he spoke about playing for england over in a tour of Africa, after the game this scouser ran on the park and said tae him “Kevin Keegan, I used tae worship the ground you walked on when you were at Annfield but you gave it all up for yer Deutsche Marks.

KK then asked him what he was doing in Africa, he replied that he was over in Dubai where he made 3 times the mnoey he could have in the ‘pool. As KK said it was ok for him tae leave home tae make more money but not KK.

!! EXCLUSIVE !! Interview with John McGINN in the SUNDAY POST .

*I had an acquaintance who used tae go intae a local paper shop after Mass and buy the Sunday’s one of which was the post. One morning the owner of the shop who was serving him said he was surprised he was buying it, he was in the newspaper business at the time, and told him the history of the paper, no benn afflecks and no trade unions either. His response was he only bought it for the weans and oor wullie/broonns, he never bought it again or the weekly news.

That shop pwner was Jack McGinn, looks like the bhoy disnae listen tae his grampa.
