  1. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    MIKEINTORONTO

Aye,S is a grand lad. A few days in Lisbon was enough to convince many of us of that.

Rubbish at getting home from the pub though-which issurprising!

  2. Sorry Fav. Uncle.

You sound like my mother. belted round the ear many a day for my blasphemy – it was worth it though!

    ;-)

  3. MIKE IN TORONTO

? two peas in a pod , as my old man used to say .

I used to watch “House of cards ” and think this can’t possibly happen or be near the truth , can people be so easily corrupted to give up their ethos and morals so easily, greed eventually is their downfall .

Recently i have changed my way of thinking …

Hope all is well with you .

I dint know how close it was , but i thought i saw somewhere that there was another shooting incident in your area .

    Cheers for that!

Not been posting as much for a few reasons, work, family and paradoxically our success on the park!

When we win there is less to say and more … er celebrating to be done!

I’m first to admit that I’m a really bad loser, so when that happens I tend to stay in and avoid people and potentially confrontations !

    Hence more likely to post.

Being an old Tim who has seen lots of different styles of Celtic teams over the years, apart from the Lions, my favourite CFC team was MON’s. That team was prepared to play football with the best but when the situation demanded they knew how to take care of themselves and their opponents!

Don’t think that the likes of Naismith and Lafferty would have been so keen to mess with the like of Bobo, big Johann, Lenny or Thommo!

Hope everyone is keeping well. No matter what the future holds we should always remember that football isn’t the most important thing in our lives and that no matter what temporary set backs we might have we will always be the same club. Not every club can say that!

  5. Reflecting on the game yesterday, I came to the conclusion that we did not deserve to win that match. OK, La Farty scored a real fluke , but bottom line is we did not deserve to win.

Then, on thinking further, I asked why we only played with one striker effectively. Go over the years when we always played two up front, Chalmers & Walace, Dalglish & Macarii, McClair and Mc Garvey and Henke & Sutton or Hartson. Did it not work well!!!!!

I really feel that football nowadays is way too complicated, this system and that system, possession being all important etc. No point in possession if nothing is achieved I think. I would love to see as an experiment, an original line up, 2 full backs, then 3 half backs and 5 forwards. That would shake them to their roots if we played that system. When I played, the two wingers would drop back to support midfield and so depending on how we were doing. Looks good to me, but what do I know.

2 _ 0 to the good guys tomorrow night will do for me.

Here’s a right good Blues choon to ease your worried minds,

Not going to the club much, so haven’t seen much of TAL

Hope something is done soon, so that can be fixed soon

And speaking of fixing things … morelos’ red card appeal … this is what happens when we say nothing … they steal a little … nothing said … they steal more …. and it won’t be like the bad old days … this season it will be worse than ever …

I was supposed to in that area that night .. (5 minutes from my house) but at the last minute, changed my mind and went elsewhere for dinner … small mercies … having said that, for a bit city, Toronto still feels and is safe … come on over!

Disagree it was a fluke. Second time in recent matches at swinecastle that he’s absolutely buried it in the net.

Makes it still more galling for me.

I heard it was an achilles injury Broonie has. Not easy to play through a calf or achilles injury.

    ———————-

Strangely enough, they were the only injuries I ever had playing football. The first time I tore my calf muscle I thought someone had shot me with an air rifle. Couldn’t possibly have been so mind you as it was on the genteel playing grounds of Largs.

Still hot in Athens but should have cooled down a bit by kick off at 9. Let’s get Tuesday out of the way and we’ll know where we’re likely to be playing our European football this year. If it’s the Europa, so be it but we still look to improve. Someone mentioned earlier about players coming here to play in the champions league. I must say I’d just like someone to come and say I’m just honoured to be signing for Celtic irrespective of what competition we’re playing in.

Was that in response to the hun tifo “This is our Club. This is our City.”? :)))

LiT were both told by our parents that school was a priority. Looking back, I don’t think I realized at the time how much they sacrificed so that we could have the chances that they never did. But Liam and I understand and appreciate it now.

From the sounds of it, I bet your daughter would say the same about her parents.

  20. Mike,

Don’t have your mobile #, Have put a text to Tony for it. Check the CQN around 3ish and I’ll let you know where I am.

Hitting the ole frog and toad, Toronto 2 1/2 hours. Laters.

  21. i'vehadtochangemymind on

If yo tell the players everybody’s against us or try and intimidate the refs into allowing assaults on scott brown and the rest of our players, you will get short term gains but the players won’t know where the boundaries are, when to lunge or control their aggression. Wangers clearly have a disciplinary problem this season and hearts, under Levein, a serial mediocre achiever, mastermind a celtic victory and derby wins but continually do poorly. You can have it huns and minis, just be careful what you wish for.

I remember when we signed Mo Bangura that there was was a rumour of a mix up and that we had signed the wrong guy …..

Wonder if PL will put in a cheeky wee bid for St. Mirren s McGinn today …. hoping the Celtic fans won’t notice?

I wouldn’t sell Hibs a cracked egg, Allen will get a move, he has ability but doesn’t seem to get a look in.

I tore my calf muscle, falling up the stairs in my close, last November. Have never experienced pain like it, when I sobered up ;).

My low level fitba career ended in my early 20s after numerous ankle ligament and achilles injuries. All including my calf injury, happened to my left leg.
