  1. TONTINE TIM, miss glenboig/Coatbridge for pies bridies, square sausage, well fired rolls tottie scones and a decent fish supper. don’t miss the sectarianism one bit. hope you and yours are good.hh.

  2. DD you mentioned that guidi was married tae John’s auntie and that she went tae school with Ned Flanders.

Now I know that Jack McGinn lived on Cardross Road across the street fae St Michael s and she has an acquaintance that was pally with one of his boys. The auntie going tae school with Ned leaves me a tad curious.

I also know the honorary executive of the NYCSC Jim McGinn is a nephew of Jack’s and we had a mutual friend that lived in Dalmuir, used tae talk tae him on the Big Lhist many moons ago.

Very good words today by Brendan on Jack Hendry. I agree. In spite of some giving him a hard time,I think we have a future star in the making.Him and Ajer,a a long term partnership.

*I was in the stand with my da for a 2nd 11 cup final second leg against falkirk, a young Jim Kennedy was our captain and John white had been drafted in fae the first team for the visitors, we were cheated that night tae.

At the end of the game the crowd in answer to the “craftmanship” gave the customary, at that time, slow handclap.

A well dressed young man in front of us turned tae my da and said “that yin oot there will never be a Celtic player”, that player became one of our greatest captains. Thank goodness the likes of Big Jock who would have been running the reserves at the time knew better

Have to disagree my friend. European football is where we can entertain the best teams on the Planet.

Nothing better than a full house under the lights challenging the best.

You must admit playing hammer throwers like Saturday is not entertainment and won’t help us attract quality players.

  6. We need a lift, if the board/ bored can’t see it then we open the door for watp to walk in and lie and cheat again.

Get it sorted and put them back in the gutters they’re beginning to climb from.

Tontine Guidi’s mother is nee McGinn.

*oh I get it noo, Jim McGinn (NYCSC) actually came fae Glasgow but his granny lived in Dalmuir. Jack lived in Dumbarton but he never originally came fae there, his late wife who was related tae the great Johnny Madden father of Czech fitba did.

  8. I would have loved one of our players, preferably a fringe player to have put one right on Neismith’s chin. Then stand over the obnoxious hun and laugh.

It would have been with a red all day long.

PS : Yes I know sinking to their level, but so be it.

  9. Austria Vienna and Rajeka both got 2-2 draws in Athens last season. In all they played 5 European games in Athens and failed to win any of them. This challenge should not inspire fear.

I am actually scared of water but have been in the pool every morning 9am-11am to keep MissGFTB happy, we have a deal for Tuesday night if she watches the game with me 7pm-11pm then I will spend 4hrs in the pool on Wednesday … my fear of the water dates back to 1978 when holidaying in Scarborough with my aunt & uncle my big cousin dared me to play chicken in the sea by walking out and who would chicken out first… he was a foot bigger and I went under, he was decent enough to drag me back to shore

    Still scared of water CSC

    We’ve been here before.

I’ve seen the arrogance from thems build up since huny G sold his soul.

Our board would be wise to back Brendan or the stands will empty like the Delia years.

  16. The dust has settled since yesterday and we got beaten by a team with more hate, hunger and forward momentum.

Lafferty and Naismith were both well aware of refereeing tolerances and the mssm silence over their antics speaks volumes of our hateful little country.

Our tactics and formation like many a time last season where baffling and found wanting.

Unless Brendan is willing to adjust our style, system and tempo this season could be frustrating.

We constantly moan about financial advantages our European opponents have over us and use as a convenient excuse but do not question why we who have a huge financial advantage over Scottish teams rarely win easily.

The corrupt refs do level the the playing field but i feel the real reason is a playing system thats to obsessed with possession to the detriment of other areas of the game.We are an incomplete unit which has more to do with our European failings than the financial gap.

The space the hun was afforde for the goal yesterday is often there but our coaches either have not noticed or do not know how to fix.

Our players now seem to intent on possession and play with little forward movement or threat and our supply to strikers is usually of the hopeful variety.

Individuals will always make mistakes but our incomplete playing system puts to much pressure on the players.

Ma good last & the wee blade love the pool, I just canny swim my legs don’t do as my brain tells them too (a bit like on a football park when I was younger :-)

Re your post at 5.27pm delighted your sis is taking the positive with Chris trying a new life, growing up in a scheme is magic but so easy for things to go a different direction, really hope it works out for him (as well as all the Sheila’s he ends up with :-)

  21. DD, As a kid I went to our local swimming pool (the baths) on countless occasions. Competed in the swimming gala several times. Then ten years ago went on holiday to Spain. We arrived more than a bit tipsy. I dumped my gear, got the shorts on and jumped into the middle of the pool. It was a bit deeper than I expected. I panicked. Made it to the side and got to the shallow end. I’ve never been in the pool since.

The most I do now is have a walk around the shallow end.

  22. delaneys dunky luv ya to bits pal let me know what mick is doing about the e- mail or mobile number quite happy to give it out on the blog.hh.

I hear you… also in 1992 on a bhoys holiday to Rethneymon ? Crete, my 3 so called mates were about 50yds out in the sea with the water up to their waists they shout me to join them so I start walking out and then go under the water as there was a big dip in the sand underneath … much to their hilarity … no wonder am traumatised with cousin & friends like that

At least now I have MissGFTB as my excuse to hang about the shallow end of the pool :-)

I get that but my personal wish would be to obliterate them and any “records” they try and lay claim to first. When they are gone forever then we can focus on europe and other teams good players as well as any we might get in.
