So how many of us checked the fixture schedule a month or so back and thought, “We can win the league on the St Patrick’s Day weekend”? Then came Motherwell and Ross County, now we will do well to win the league on the same date as Gordon Strachan’s team did in 2006. This seems to exercise Neil Lennon more than me. I’ll take the win anytime, although where it’s won is far more important.
Having said that, anything other than a victory tomorrow would be a sign of something gone wrong. Aberdeen have been wretched in recent months and the Celtic players have benefited from a rare free midweek, allowing rest and preparation. They will also have more than sufficient feedback on last week’s capitulation to ensure muscles are itching to go.
This month’s edition of CQN Magazine has just launched, some have said the best yet! We take you from Helsinki to heave, these have been special times for Celtic and we know how to enjoy them……….
It’s written by the CQN community, for the CQN community, and is absolutely free to read online (special thanks to those who voluntarily subscribed, the lights have been kept shining as a result).
You can read the Magazine by clicking on the double headed arrow at the bottom right of the graphic below.

That’s a good read…never heard of Mr Donaghy before..

That is awful news. A speedy recovery to that young mhan.
You are always reasoned and measured, but how, at a time like this, you can make such a calm observation about ‘coaches’ who exhort their charges to play with such aggression is amazing. Chapeau, you might say.
Sadly, you can see the effects of this at every level of football in Scotland every week.
TBB
He is young and if you are going to have a bad injury better its then. I am sure he will make a full recovery with the right support from professionals, family and friends.
I know this from my own experiences and have counselled spinal injuries patients, happy to help if its needed.

‘Singing pubs ?
Don’t think that the Park Bar can be beaten.
Can get a bit crowded but, all things considered, it provides a better atmosphere & more chance of genuine, non-commercial, Scots/ Irish music & song, than the GlasgowX/ Calton alternatives.
With all these things it is a bit of a lottery. Some nights much better than others.’
Though if someone is looking for a bit of genuine Glasgow folk music tradition and history the pubs to go to are The Scotia, The Clutha and The Viccy, or whatever it’s called these days.

All the best to your bhoy
I’m just back from my bhoy’s game and even at 2003 level there are some kids who should be locked up.
Look forward to your Rugby updates
Love
Ernie,
I couldn’t argue with your choices. I have had good nights in all of them.
The Ship Bank in the Salmarket can also provide a good auld-fashioned singalong.
The Park Bar would be my own first choice.

Interesting to hear Jimmy Nichol on Off The Ball, a couple of minutes back talk about meetings with Mr Masterton (HBOS)at The Mound, and also his close friendship with Moonbeams Murray.
The Live Updates article will be up at 14:30. Could someone leave a note here?
Thanks.
Jimmy Calderwood suggesting that Gavin Masterton was ahead jog his time. I hope DAFC get out of their mess well away from the Visionary
Ahead of his time- predictive text and thick thumbs –
sorry!

Congratulations to you and yours- very best wishes from an old Cardwell regular
If anyone ever doubted that Calderwood’s Dunfermline lay down to thems on the last day of the 2003 season think again. He’s just admitted to the guys on ‘Off the Ball’ that it was Murray who phoned him for and ‘placed’ him in the Dunfermline job with a view to taking him to R’gers eventually. Murray was best friends with Masterton, owner of DAFC and head of lending at Murray’s favoured bank.
I know most of you will know this but to hear it from the horses mouth…
Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They’re the finest team in Scotland, I’m sure you will agree,
We’ll never give up till we’ve won the cup and the scottish football
league.
They come from bonnie Scotland, they come from county Cork,
They come from dear old Donegal and even from New York,
From every street in Glasgow they proudly make their way,
To a place called dear old paradise and this is what they say.
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They’re the finest team in Scotland, I’m sure you will agree,
We’ll never give up till we’ve won the cup and the scottish football
league.
There’s Fallon, Young and Gemmell who proudly wear the green,
There’s Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been,
Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,
And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They’re the finest team in Scotland, I’m sure you will agree,
We’ll never give up till we’ve won the cup and the scottish football
league.

Tell him the Gazebo guys were asking for him, and he’ll be back – like Henrik

Allez LeCoist has demanded to know the names of the three people that voted against the imperialist occupancy of the Falklands.
Have I missed the new article?

I’m here and listening intently to your every post (and even singing along to some).

Heard that there from Calderwood on Shortbread. Incredible public admission that David Murray was effectively appointing the Dunfermline manager, to enable him to serve an apprenticeship there prior to moving to Ibrox.
How must it feel for genuine Pars fans to hear what was going on at their club in light of the state their club is now in?
Afternoon all,
Jimmy Calderwood has just said on Radio Scotland that he received a phone call from David Murray asking him to go to manage Dunfermline with a view to moving on to Rangers eventually.
He did so, explaining that Good friend of his, Gavin Masterton, was the man in charge there.
Masterton– cannot– repeat cannot sell the ground at East End Park to the club and its fans because the ludicrous deal he has done ith HBOS re his own loans which can role up interest fee and remain unpaid until long after he is dead– by which time he will not care and he will have rearranged his finances in such a way that his estate and family wealth will be untouchable.
Watch the story develop– and have a look at the article t the back of this months magazine ( you will have to click on the link for the extra pages because it is long ) The Loan Rangers and the bank that went Tonto— where you will see the mentalness of the press reporting of events at Rangers PLC being unquestioned by the poodles whilst at the same time showing how the Bank went totally out of control in the hands of guys like Masterton– and how the bank served up Livingstone FC while saving Masterton’s financial neck!!!
Calderwood’s comments this morning are astonishing.

Two taxis down in the Manchestrr area. I am sat in a boozer at Charing Cross. Off to the match.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I’m not surprised that it happened but shocked that Calderwood was spilling the beans. It was as if Cosgrove had slipped him a truth drug.
As BRTH has just said-astonishing!

Speculation as to which 3 people voted no in Falklands referendum. “It’s a real mystery” said local brothers Diego, Carlos & Jesus Garcia
Abiding memory of 2003, was walking out if glasgow airport just back from Seville, devasted at losing league, to see the Dunfermline assistant manager racing past wearing a zombie blazer and tie. This was only 20 minutes after he final whistle.
Can anyone tell me why the Sevco players are wearing black armbands? Elgin players don’t appear to be. And please, no bad taste responses ;-)
