Hibs are above Celtic for good reason

419

The next 19 days sees Celtic in action against Hearts twice, Leipzig twice, Hibs (tomorrow) and Dundee, the latter the only prosaic occasion among them.  How we negotiate this period will go a long way to determine our domestic and European season.

Brendan will almost certainly rest Tom Rogic after his midweek trip to Kuwait but with five days until we face Leipzig, I expect a full strength team for the visit of Neil Lennon’s side.

Hibs are above us in the league for a reason, they have lost only twice this season (once domestically and once in Europe) and have the best goal difference in the league.  They did very well home and away against us last season and Neil will ensure his team have no concerns about visiting Celtic Park this term.

The players know the scale of the challenge ahead, which should bring the best out of them.  A sneaky feeling we might end the weekend top of the league too.

Shame, I leave Edinburgh for Amsterdam on Tuesday, regrettably I am heading north to Sweden and will be very unlikely to see any of our game on Thursday. Enjoy Hamburg, a city I intend to revisit. HH

Bar Adelante on Calle Nicaragua is a wee proper Celtic pub. Just behind massive O’Reillys on the east end of the main beach. Both will have it probably. Adelante you will be standing, O’Reillys you can get a table and food but no atmos. Nice steak place beside there too

  5. Timbhoy2, Yes as far as I know. He lives close to me. We always mention Celtic in the passing.

Onemalloy, I’m sure it was Croy Parish we shared the job with when The Holy Father celebrated Mass at Behhahouston Park.

I have met James dad the meenister a couple of times at Paradise. It is always nice to see him with his Celtic scarf on. Love Church of Scotland Celtic supporters.

*The Rev Ian Miller at Bonhill Parish Church was a die-hard Celtic supporter, it was he that traced Neilly McCallum’s grave in the parish cemetery. He has said that growing up in Kilbarchan he like his pals followed deidco until he was old enough to understand what their support was really like and so turned tae us. He is also a lifetime member of the CND which would go down nicely in an area formerly known as “Little Moscow”.

My dad was from rural Perthshire. My mum from the highlands. My mum loved the Lions, especially Jinky.

They were shocked when they moved to paisley in 72. We were brought up that we were all God’s children. I was brought up to fight for the underdog. Without trying to push me in any direction, they established the principles that could only lead me to Paradise.

When I got married last December there could be only one cleric….Rev Ian Miller.

Big ask tomorrow : the international break came at the wrong time for us ; gotta get the team up for it again.

  16. There was a well known Church of Scotland Elder who was a member of the Executive Club at Celtic Park and I was a member at the same time during the late 80’s and 90‘s. I hadn’t seen him for many years as I left to go to Germany. I’m happy to say he is alive and well and a member of Club Celtic these days.

  18. Just read Neil Lennons pre match comments to the Media. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a Manager sound so confident and unfazed by the task at hand. Quite a contrast to his peer up in Aberdeen.

  23. If we have learned anything at all, we have to have runners in the team for our midfield and defence to pass quickly , seemples. Square and backward passing gets you nowhere, so as they say at Old Trafford, Attack attack attack
