HAT-TRICK hero Callum McGregor has blasted his way into Brendan Rodgers’ thoughts as he prepares for the midweek Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg.
The midfielder struck two classy efforts in the first-half and completed the trio with an expertly-taken penalty-kick as the Hoops hammered Sunderland 5-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Afterwards, Rodgers admitted: “Callum is always in my thinking.
“We look at the team for every game. He was outstanding on this occasion.
“His touches, his quality and his finishing. He has really grown within this squad, particularly in the last seven months.
“You see his performance against Sunderland with the ball, his technical excellence.
“He understands the game and he has a goal in him.”

The infamous Daily Record / Sunday Mail radio advert exclaiming “RIP Celtic” can be heard in full – and it hasn’t aged well.‘Celts for Change’ remains one of European football’s most-successful fan movements, and it is as relevant today as ever, as the Scottish football authorities fail to act on the Supreme Court’s decision on Rangers’ (IL) unlawful use of EBTs.
Paul John Dykes chats to The Alternative View’s Matt McGlone about the coming season, and is also joined by former Celtic TV presenter, and avid Aberdeen fan, Ally Begg to offer a balanced view on Celtic’s nearest challengers.
