I asked Archie Macpherson to speak about Jock Stein at CQN11, to mark the 50th anniversary of Jock’s appointment as Celtic manager, and then stayed quiet as he spoke. One of the points he made was that Jock would have a news plan ahead of a big game.
Good news would be held back until a few days before the game, giving fans and players a lift, to ensure maximum impact. Bad news could break at any time, but it would have to fight for column inches. As an operator, he is still worth studying. Celtic should plan to dominate this week’s news accordingly.
Apart from that horrible game away to Legia, Ronny Deila has not been to a sell-out Celtic game in a large stadium, and even that was only 30,000. It’s possible he’s never even played before a large sell-out crowd, so you can be sure he’ll not be short of people telling him what to expect, and how to prepare for Hampden on Sunday.
There are some obvious pitfalls for him to avoid, in particular to ensure his players are not provoked into retaliation, but taking too much advice would be a mistake (will not stop us offering plenty advice). He’s spent all season playing and preparing one way, anything which gets in the way of this will only put him off his game. The manager needs to employ a filter this week, tell everyone he’s got the situation covered and get on with the game.
Loving the way recipients of Rangers EBT loans have been asked about an advert dealing with the consequences of their loans, but are not actually asked about the loans themselves. These guys only agree speak on the understanding they are not asked about their loans, none of which are or will be repaid.
I accept that if the loan recipient is being asked about yesterday’s charity match, or some other football game, there’s no place to ask him about his loan, but these guys are regularly commenting on the consequences of their loans, without ever having to deal with the awkward question.

…took the words right out of my mouth….
Acgr,
Aye he could be first up the tunnel. With 20 quid on himself to do so :)
I had to Google their team. Honest ;)
Kenny D started life as a supporter of the deid club, I have no issue with him coming out with this tripe.
Maggie Doll, you should know better, I’m sure you do.
Maggie,
ffs…..ok your’re rite…..liquidation means nothing…..you can buy a teams history….SFA prouncements trump Scots Company Law…..you can shed all yet debt and a big fuk u to all yet creditors…..;-))
I prefer to challenge…..;-))
H.H.
Maggie,
4 days till you go silent running…..we’ll see how long you last…..;-)) You Promised….;-))
H.H.
GM, I was going to ask how many had played in a deid hun team v Celtic and broadened it out. Fair play, your googling turned up a shed load of dross, two of which I don’t know who they are.
So, cludger, boyd, miller, wallace?
Shiteing themselves applies as per my previous post.
My young un is coming home for the weekend so I might just don the onesie in his honour while we scud the zombies on sunday. It might not go down very well with the rest of my fourball though………….:_)
Night all Night wee Oscar my hero God bless x x
Auldheid/Bhoys
Following an Email I sent yesterday to the Homebhoys show the ghuys on there discussed our article.
Auldheid , you asked me to give you some feedback.
4 ghuys are on the show and are all clued up genuine supporters.
The article received a mixed reception from them with 2 of them , whilst in agreement with the content , didnt see the benefits of our statement feeling it was slightly cringeworthy.
The other 2 panelists were very positive . I have copied below my E Mailed reply to them….
Many thanks for another enjoyable show and thanks again for debating the Herald article.
I wish I was able to switch off to the shenanigans from the Ibrox group of clubs like Jason but I guess I am a bit obsessed with it all.
Obsessed with the bare faced lie.
Obsessed with the cheating of Oldco
In fact my Mrs just said the very same thing to me an hour ago.
I guess Paul summed up how I and like minded Ghuys on CQN feel.
We’re angry, we’re heartily sick that they appear to get away with everything and we feel a burning sense of injustice.
We debate it on blogs, we post it on Twitter and I guess that it was felt that the Best way to have a go at the SMSM was to present them with undisputed facts to highlight the farce that they spoon feed to the great unwashed.
The article caused a stir that’s for sure and if it does nothing more than make us feel a bit better , less subservient, then it does the job for me.
Our we bit of resistance in a zombiefied country .
I can only guess how Paul feels with his fantastic efforts in the Asterisk Years, cause I defo felt a wee surge of pride when I saw the advert.
Anyway Bhoys thanks again for the air time and KTF

Hi Stephen,
Have forwarded this on to everyone on the team and we will discuss tonight.
Personally I wouldn’t be in favour of something like this but have nothing against those that participated. Some of the vitriol I’ve seen online about it is way OTT imo.
Cheers

Subject: The Herald advert.
Guys, listen to the show every week. Harper was kind enough to mention a couple of weeks ago the advert that appeared in The Herald today.
The idea to put a statement into print was to highlight the facts of liquidation and counter the MSM and Sevconian myth of the same club and was drafted by and paid for by the bloggers on CQN.
I think it is safe to say that this has split opinion amongst the support.
Some comments I’ve seen on Twitter from our support have described the ad as cringeworthy, embarrassing , a waste of money, they don’t speak for me etc etc.
I guess the advert came about through frustration that our club have perpetuated the myth with their silence and that really disappoints many of us.
I am surprised that Some supporters have chosen to vocalise their displeasure at what is a genuine attempt to get the truth to be more mainstream.
I know Paul would never legitimise the use of MSM but it was felt that this medium would be more likely to be seen by many more than just limited to Twitter and blogs.
Just wanted to know what u guys thought about the enterprise.
I was however Disapointed to see Jason describe genuine Celtic supporters who want justice to be done as ‘ sad and obsessed’.
Are we just to forget the years of cheating? Are we to allow the lie to prevail? Are we to sit back and claim the moral high ground satisfied that we know the truth?
Do we not want our club to challenge the lies and fight for the £millions owed to us in back champions league money?
For me, I am angered by the way the myth has so readily be accepted as truth and want to shout it down from heavens.
Am I wrong in this?
Wondered if this was worthy of discussion on the show.
Hail Hail
Acgr,
Lol. Go for it.
I was actually thinking about how many of ours had played against that mob in whatever form at the weekend there.
Most had. Not essential but every little helps :)
ACGR,

I coached most of current S1 last year when they were P7 they cleaned up league and 4 trophies In Aberdeen League , won Nth Scotland ( Perth and above) and reached Scottish schools final were they lost out to Barrhead – so I hope to see them do well in S1.. They are a very strong team. They grubbed the S2 boys 10-1 :-)
Good luck v Aboyne.

If I may direct you to P39 of
previous thread and BRTHs post of 08:18.it is commented on there.
As far as I know,it was given in response to the deluge of complaints our club received after Neil Doncaster had his episodic ‘same club’ outburst,in an invited BBC interview with Chris McLaughlin.
It is a personal opinion from our SLO and I think he stressed as much at the time.
Hope your well

Up in Cape Cod waiting on the start of the 2015 Blizzard. It will really get going at midnight with hurricane force winds. Everyone has to be off the roads by midnight or a $500 fine.
Hope to see the LCSF against one of the teams that play in Govan, on Sunday, in Docksiders, Bermuda, but don’t know about the airline schedules. At present all flights are cancelled.

Thanks for that. I’d totally forgotten about him. Pity Charlie’s injured or we’d have 8 to their 7 available for selection. I think we’ll wipe the floor with them.
