Celtic will play KR Reykjavik in the Champions League second qualifying round with the first leg taking place on either 15or 16 July. Celtic are provisionally at home for the first let – but don’t book your flights until arrangements have been confirmed.
KR beat Glentoran 3-0 on aggregate in last season’s Europa League qualifying campaign before losing 1-3 home and away to Standard Liege. The Icelandic season continues throughout the summer, KR played a league game yesterday and have another three competitive games before meeting Celtic. Nine games into the league campaign they are three points off the pace.
From what I can tell, it looks like they have a grass pitch at their 3300 capacity stadium, which removes the big complaint from last season’s qualifiers.
This is a good tie for Celtic, who will be physically stretched by a mid-season team, but we’ll be strong favourites.
We were last in competitive action in Iceland against Valur in 1975, when a 0-2 win out there preceded a 7-0 victory at Celtic Park.

Return of the Samba Sieva!!
Reminds me of an evening in the company of big Billy McNeill during the mid 90s. He talked about when he was manager of Celtic, and he received a mysterious phone call at home on a Saturday evening. The call went something like this:
Billy: Hello
Voice: Hello Meester McNeill?
Billy: Yes. Who’s speaking?
Voice: Hello Meester McNeill. Thees ees Meester Eugenio Bersellini, manager of the world famous Inter Meelan of Italia.
Billy: Yes?
Voice: Please Meester McNeill. How much you wanting for your wonderful defender Johannes Edvaldsson?
Billy: Shuggie. Get to yer bed and I’ll speak to you on Monday.
End of call.
Sipsini

Lovely bit of football by Brazil…Neymar is proving his worth tonight, a joy to watch on this form.

They’re more like the classic Brazil teams tonight. . . . Some exhilarating attacking moves, but comical defending. A great watch!
beatbhoy
He did the same when he played for us. Useless f*rt of a player!!
Brazil looking good but what on earth does Scolari see in Fred…he (Fred) must be the biggest Dud in the tournament so far. Aye I know, he’ll probably score in second half now !!

Alan Stubbs was working miracles with the Everton reserve team.
Could be a great appointment for Hibs.
Such a footballer he was too.
I wish him all the good luck in the world.

If Stubbsy gets the nod at Easter Road, it means they are at last getting a bit serious, a great appointment.
16 Roads, I’ve been skimming a lot of CQN, because so much gets said and there is, never enough Time, for anyone who doesn’t have the Time, to read everything, even on Catchup.
I know you are looking deeper than ever into things, Good Stuff m8ty.
From the sites I read sporadically, the one thing that is prevalent is the one that says, Come Quickly Jesus.
I’m wondering if those pushing the finding of the 10th Red Heifer, are Genuine, I’ve struggled with this Constant thing, since I took the wrang pill…..
If this is True, then Christians should be excited, despite what will occur.

It may be a very dark and dangerous deception.
It is a battle line, from what I can gather, is a lot more Spiritual than it has EVER been Physical, despite what BOBBY ever tries to say to moi, I’ll be finding out on the 12 of July. ;))
And to conclude, my own nonsensical Jibber Jabber, I will revert you all to a Classic, Contempary, Spooky, Whataboutery, in a Great Sense track, frae the person I think, really made so many improvements in so many peoples lives, despite his politics being despised, WTF is that all about?
