Should Lionel Messi’s illness, which kept him out of Saturday’s clash with Malaga, prevent him boarding a plane to Glasgow tomorrow, Brendan Rodgers will take some grain of comfort. The Argentine was the principle actor in the destruction of Celtic at the Camp Nou two months ago.
Since then Celtic have more than earned the Champions League credit which has come their way. Meritocratic draws against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach have given the club two points more than some observers predicted for them when the group stage was drawn in August.
Without Messi, Barcelona remain a potent force, but arguably the greatest player to ever kick a ball changes the dimension of the challenge enormously. While it’s likely a few days rest would be enough for Messi to push himself, if necessary, manager Luis Enrique may be inclined not to take chances with his star asset ahead of a huge week for the Catalans.
After Celtic they are away to Real Sociedad, who are only four points behind in La Liga, while the following weekend they have the chance to close the four point gap at the top when Real Madrid visit.
So if you meet Luis around town this week, tell him he’d be better to rest Leo for the important La Liga clashes.

HH
Awe naw … I was jokingly referencing your usually funny editing of articles …. sadly, going by the article posted, the actual interview seems to have been even more surreal than your finest work (which I quite enjoy).

Coincidence Corner arising from earlier comments.
The makers of Viagra, Pfizers, were also the makers of a slimming biscuit called Limmits.
Wagon Wheels were manufactured by Weston’s / Burtons.
The manufacture of Limmits was curtailed in the early seventies because the production capacity was given over to Limmits.
Not many people know that.
Ps.
Perhaps Viagra could have borrowed from the past and be marketed as No -Limmits.

the article summarizing the questions and the “answers” is on the main page …

Btw,I used to get right P’D off that there was only one thick slice at the end of a loaf. The other one was the skinny wee cousin.
When I was wee, opening a new loaf, I would carefully open one end to see if it was the thick outsider. If you guessed wrong, you could carefully fold it closed again and open the other end. I wisnae daft!
(As long as my Ma didnae find out!
School dinners now did I ever tell you about a restaurant I went to in Bristol by that very name back in 1990. Funny thing all the waitresses didn’t have time to go home and change from school. Even brought their home economic homework with them and wrote it up on a blackboard. Funny thing they used it as a menu. Maybe tell you guys at the next hoot. Interesting.

CELTIC CHAMPS ELECT @ 10:00 AM,
Well it’s great to know you played and with another couple of Catholics. As an Airdrie bhoy I had split Loyalties, if I knew I was watching an Airdrie Schools XI with the first Catholic players it would Certainly have led to a bit of Cognitive Dissonance:)
My fuzzy recollection was we (The Xaverian’s) had three players representing Coatbridge, think one of our ghuys scored two.
We were allowed out for the evening (a rare event) and walked up from Whiflett and back.
Can’t help with the Score but I think Coatbridge scored three and won but it was a tight game, and a good game as I remember. Best guess would be 3-2 but a 3-3 draw could well be right.
Remember some Airdrie boys werny too happy… the lads from our School played very well and were all weggies… so as far as they were concerned no fae Coatbridge.
Maybe Natknow will remember better.
I lived near Airdrie Academy and knew quite a few pupils, so well done again getting selected.
Hail Hail
BADA BING,
I was brought up in Easterhouse. I’m obviously slightly older than you as I left the new Gregg in Jan 1971.
I enjoyed the old Gregg, probably cos I enjoyed school, I loved football and other sports plus English and history .
Is there to be a day/night out before Xmas with you cqnrs in Glasgow ?
I enjoy a beer Frenzy, when I can get out and about.
HH
BT,
you know that´s untrue I would never block you

I know this is a daft question but that mankie Hun media have a thread about ” Celtic’s 50 million left back Tierney”. It is a mock up photo showing KT snorting cocaine ?????
I don’t know if it’s a lookalike or a photo of KTs face super imposed ?
Can’t KT get Celtic’s lawyers onto this ?
STILL no mention from the Hun media about the VANDALISM to Celtic Peter’s memorial, despite him bravely fighting and dying so that this Hun scum can have freedom !
I hope that they go bust forever this time !
HH
Barca ain’t the same team without Iniesta. Results tail off when he isn’t there or is off form. Pique is a miss too. It’s possible.
