It’s that time again, buckle in!

The final dice on what could become our second nine-in-a-row season is set to be cast.  I expect business to be done but the usual caveats apply, it takes agent, player, selling club and buying club to be in alignment for a deal to happen and if one gets cold feet a deal will not happen.

For me, the position of greatest need is central defence.  Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton are enduring injury problems which have forced their absence for much of the campaign.  The loss of multiple wingers is less a concern, as I realllllly hope we play three at the back and two strikers for much of the remainder of the season.

Buckle in!!

  1. When celtic lose a goal its john Kennedy’s fault because he is defensive coach. When our tactics are wrong its his fault because he is an assistant that puts cones down, wish folk would make their mind up.

Sevco beat celtic on the 29th dec because they had better tactics, they smothered the middle and did not allow us to get our wide players into game.

Lennon and Kennedy have been about football their whole lives. I am sure they have a decent understanding of the game so will hopefully have learned a lesson about fighting fire with fire.

We have a strong squad, I always want better because I am a football supporter but to suggest lennon has not been backed when we spent 20 + million this season is simply wrong. Yes you can argue that we got more in than we spent but those that left contributed little in their final season.

  2. Imagine the meltdown if we’d signed a known name in his late 30’s on a big wage and he got injured. Imagine we replaced him with a loanee with a bit of an attitude problem and who had been sitting on the bench for another Scottish team.

The mother of all meltdowns would ensue.

Remember our excitement when we signed a load of players in January when Tony Mowbray was boss? We kind of went ‘all in’ at that time. But it turned out that getting players who haven’t been playing regularly isn’t necessarily conducive to them making a big impact or staying injury free (that’s generally what you get in January unless you can pay the big big bucks when it comes to ‘experienced names’ that people seem to want us to sign)

This is why I take a few days off Celtic internet after transfer windows.

I agree that Celtic have to improve in their recruitment processes generally but we aren’t in the worst place at present.

It’s a pity you can’t do chuckling on this site. That’s a belter!

  5. Wanyamas on £70k a week at Spurs, remember Mourinhos quote back in aug/sept,

“He’s our player.” Since then our need for Vic has grown, he’s seemingly been a model professional re training etc etc. If Spurs, who face paying him £8million over the next 18months, do tear up his contract then we’ll see where Vics heart lies.

Slowly slowly catch the monkey CSC

    ie next week ???

    I’m hingin in there ☘️

  6. I hope we are not going to rely on Bauer for too long at right back as I don’t think he’s good enough. I felt the players were reluctant to pass to him on Wednesday night.

We have got rid and got someone else in .

St Tams…why do you think Bauer is not good enough? Who should we have replaced him with?

Why are you so negative about Celtic?

  8. I don’t believe that I am negative. I want the best for Celtic. In my opinion of what I have seen of Bauer I don’t think he is up to it.

He plays like a guy who wont be there next season

  9. ST TAMS

Bauer looks like a good player -long blond hair -reasonable passer but his positioning was terrible on Wednesday. Having said that the whole team-shape went haywire in the 2nd half. One point Julien was charging up the right wing leaving the defence wide open!

  10. Let’s be fair to Bauer he hasn’t had much game time, maybe a start and a wee run in the team will do him good. I don’t think we have seen enough of him yet.

  11. El Hamed somehow…… is crucial to what Celtic will achieve this Season.

    9 or euro win?

    EURO SUCCESS every TIME.

Lenny is a Gift frae the Almighty. We might win Both.

Some guys take a dislike to certain players and thats it! Thereafter, the player can do no right. Just waiting for the slightest mistake to repeat the mantra…”useless, invisible, get rid.”

So many finger pointers who require an Escape goat…
