Kazaks disparage Neil, Celtic preparations. Charlotte Fakes

1247

Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow.  Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:

“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic).  Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.

“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline.  Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!).  Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.

“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana.  Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg.  Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.

“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.

“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries.  Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.

“The referee is from Norway.  Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight.  The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport.  Svein Moen will understand.

“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style.  Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this?  Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.

“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable.  They close down space and do not interfere with each other.

“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg.  They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter.  This is unacceptable.  It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.

“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”

Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.

Charlotte Fakes

When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information.  I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information.  Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed.  People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.

It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.

I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.

The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox.  We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information.  She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.

Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside.  You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.

The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

Thank you for posting that sir.

I get the feeling that we could be one ‘tightrope’ game away from those days being re-visited.

I’m not being negative here but – I predicted before the season started that…..

…Celtic will win the domestic Treble – reach the CL group stages and finish 3rd – dropping into the EL and reaching the Semi Final….

…then the ‘bhored’ sold the spine of the team !!!

    Ach well – CSC

  2. It was repeatedly said that CL qualification was oh so important and, yet, we gambled that the spine of our team could be sold without having ready made replacements.

No matter what happens tonight, I hope that the decision makers have learned that gambling is for mugs.

  3. Try Balde as a target man with wingers pinging the ball into the box – their keeper was/is pants – but for luck we would have been 2 nil up from crosses/corners and Kris rattling the woodwork could have gave us three.

They’ll be hard to break down but if they concede early – welcome to noisy Celtic Park, Karagandianians…

Sorry to hear your sad news.

May your Dad rest in peace and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers today.

    God Bless.

Apparently Kazakhs are extremely superstitious and are upset by, amongst other things, the evil eye, yellow flowers, and bread thrown on the ground.

  6. Dirk (Laudrup) Boerrigter.

    Dribblin at pace.

Balde up top with commons and Boerrigter delivering into box would suit him. He hasn’t had much service from wide areas anytime he played. No playing to his strengths.

  7. Morning all

Woke up on this my 52nd birthday and stood on an upturned plug. The day can only get better. Considering wearing my Hootenanny T-shirt tonight.

As for the game I cannot see anything other than a tense night ahead. I doubt that Shakter will be affected by the time differences – I’ve always found coming from East to West much easier to adapt to than the other way round. Big concerns for Celtic are keeping the backdoor shut and creating chances against a packed defence. Not original thoughts perhaps but true.

I don’t think as a club Celtic have handled the transfers in and out well this summer but we have a real chance to play our Get out of Jail Card tonight – they may not be pushovers like Suduva but nor are they Barcelona.

Condolences to Thunder Road. May your dad Rest in Peace.

  8. Not much evidence on here this morning to suggest the accolade The Greatest Fans in the World is deserved.

Quite a lot of evidence, though, that we have more than our fair share of those whose views concur with the MSSM.

…..and don`t tell me everyone is entitled to their opinions. Some of the arrogant nonsense on here suggests that that “entitlement” is greatly abused.

Thunder Road – sorry to hear your sad news. Deepest sympathy to you and your family.

As for the game tonight, that mob were rattled during the first ten minutes of the game last week, how will they react to the atmosphere tonight? Hopefully the 12th man will have them reeling and the team can get at them from the kick off. An early goal for us and they will struggle to recover.

Their keeper is dodgy as well and we should take any opportunity to shoot and put him under pressure.

Feeling quietly confident….at the moment! :-)

  11. I am not to worried about the game tonight although it will not be easy we should go through, not sure about loosing the spine of the team, IMO Wilson wasn’t that good a centre back ( often wondered why hey never came up for corners) the other two done the business when they played, but they have gone and new lads in there place tonight so onwards and upwards, the ones who left wanted to go don’t forget that, HAIL HAIL.

  12. Other than SFA incompetence, amateurishness etc. is there a reason why the Scottish transfer window closes 48 hours before the majority of the rest of European league?

The madness of the last day, particularly down south, occasionally throws up a possible signing not considered before. That won’t happen this year. Also what if an EPL teams makes an offer an SPFL can’t refuse on Sunday or Monday, no replacement can be signed.

  13. Hamiltontim is praying for Oscar on

    JJ

Haven’t seen anyone post that they won’t be supporting the team on the park come KO tonight.

In my opinion we should never have allowed ourselves to get into this situation in the first place.

The suits etc have gambled, I sincerely hope that they and us are not left regretting their strategy.

  14. the long wait is over on

    Thunder Road – my condolences

I lost my father 10 years ago last weekend.

The pain eases over time to be replaced by memories and , inevitably ,regrets. I wish I had taken the time to get to know him better. There was never a more honest or honourable man. I lost count of the times I wish he was still around so I could get his opinion on things.

If you’re moniker is from where I think it is you’ll know and appreciate this classic about a father and son.

  15. Make no mistake, we are the far better team here, absolutely. However this mob will use every trick in the book to overcome us. They will be diving around all over the place and if they do it often enough they may just get something, penalty, one of our Bhoyz sent off, anything to prevail.

My message is this, stolen from Hill Street Blues sadly, but let’s be careful out there tonight, OK.

Hail Hail and 4 nil to the good guys.

Kayal – Don’t think we can blame the corrupt SFA this time. SSN showed about ten different window closure dates/times across Europe. Yet another indication of the incompetence within UEFA.

  20. Lets have a day without moaning about past Celtic players who didn’t want to stay, we are where we are, and we go with what we have simple as that so stop the moaning for at least 11 hrs. And god forbid if it doesn’t work out, you can all have the field day you have been begging for.

  21. Thunder Road – condolences on the loss of your Dad – may he rest in peace.

    My Team for tonight:

Big FF + a Back 4 that can keep a clean sheet!

6 midfielders/ strikers that can score 3 or more goals!

  25. Thunder Road my deepest condolences on your loss. YNWA

Re Balde up front as a target man. No wish to disparage the lhad but given that he had a couple of semi decent chances to work the keeper with headers on Saturday he didn’t as he seems to prefer to direct the ball high rather than downward in the prescribed manner when attacking the ball. To critique Amido is a tad harsh given the limited amount of time I have seen him play I know but, and I hope I’m very very wrong, heading doesn’t seem to be his strong point – please prove me wrong tonight. Oh and Efe to score with his head this time from his customary CL open goal opportunity.

I’m sure the referee will be aware of that feeling.
