We had three replays to win that cup. Including the semi against Airdrie. Two goals up TWICE and still only drew.

I remember, for some reason,a Dalglish header up the MF end rebounding off the post. He’d already celebrated the goal, couldnae believe it didn’t go in.

I know. Just concerning at the end their little winger ghosting past him. I suppose in adversity you need your experienced guys to talk us through it and keep us hanging in there. Kilmarnock passed up at least 2 other excellent chances to finish the game.

Very unsettled look about us going into the Zenit games, largely through injury of course.

Many a good night there,William St,Hanover St,etc. Could not name you one single pub,and sadly most of my friends then are gone.

Little wonder with delights like that on their doorstep.

Celtic ? – Win some , draw some , lose some .Such is football ,such is life . Kilmarnock were the better team , Kilmarnock deserved to win ..

Inter ? absolutely dire . No win in 8 . .. I found myself hoping that the ole codger had taken his heart medication and that all was well with his ICD ..

I think Stevie Clarke would have been wise to have told his players to put Hendry under pressure every time, any manager would. Three man defence, and a newbie.

He must have thought his lottery numbers had come up when the other two went off injured.

I’m not really too concerned about Saturday, too many imponderables unlikely to be repeated.

    Again.

Getting a bit miffed about it though. At this rate,we are heading for 89 points for the season. Might well be the lowest total ever in a 38-match winning season.

If good enough to win it!

Frankly, mate, that’s NOT good enough. Is it not our ambition to improve Year on Year? And our intention too? Been a car crash in comparison to last season.

And for everyone who is about to jump down my throats for that heresy, name me ONE single ray of sunshine.

I once went to a party in Bruntsfield . The night had started in the Arlington Bar on Woodlands Rd . A Friday night . A very unwell me came to in a unknown house in God knows where . There was nobody else in the house . Once I’d stopped being sick I headed out . There was a woman walking on the street — I asked her -where is this ? -she told me the name of the street -that didn’t help -ah -but where ? — ” Perth son , Perth .” I didn’t drink for months after that. .

  9. Bobby

There have been some glimmers of sunshine. Maybe not a ‘ray’!

Away win in CL, destruction of the dandy dons, first half v minis ….

…. but granted, it’s been below the standard we set for ourselves last season.

Whilst it would’ve been difficult to replicate the winning run, reproducing some of the performances shouldn’t be as difficult as it’s proving.

The inconsistency of our rivals should see 7 in a row delivered, but the SC is likely to prove awkward.

Let’s see what Brendan can squeeze out these bhoys in the next 3 months.

I see the cadihun is getting punted as the next Scotland manager, just what we need a forward thinking attack minded modern young guy……..:-(

At least it will be easier to withdraw from the stupid end of season tour they want us on.

  12. Losing two league matches in the same season is an absolute disgrace.

To be honest I’m more concerned by our injury list than our result/performance/number of shots on target.

    Bruntsfield?

    Oh,happy hunting grounds.

My mate’s Mum and Dad would clear off for The Trades, leave him in charge of the house,me and the lads would descend like locusts for a fortnight.

One simple rule. Leave it the way you find it. So,the last Sunday morning was spent in the supermarket replenishing the cupboards and the freezer.

Hey,you want to be invited back, don’t you?

Anyway,I woke up on the final Sunday, starving. And nae grub left.

But fortunately there was a partly devoured kebab wi salad in the living room.

Straight into the microwave. Tasted just fine!

Three of us on housework duties three of us on supermarket duties, his parents came back to a well-stocked palace.

    I miss that man,I miss those days,but that’s life.

  14. I thought John Fallon was a moderate goalkeeper – he made mistakes in some big matches which cost him in terms of self-confidence and the confidence of the fans (the 2-2 game against Rangers in 68-69 sticks in the memory). I wouldn’t put him in the same category as Simpson. Having said that John Fallon made the best save I’ve ever seen, in the defeat against Benfica in 69-70: Eusabio hit an absolute thunderbolt what JF somehow got to. If that goes in, we don’t reach the toss-up.

Seriously though who came up with that idea??, at least if he gets the job he wont run out on us this time for his beloved rangers, unless of course they use a Ouija board .

I’m really not too bothered about Saturday. Everything that could go wrong did. And a few more besides.

But our performances this season, our results this season, have not in any way been an improvement on last season.

We are on target for 89 points. Will it win the league? Probably. Is it an improvement on last year-which is every club’s main aim? Naw. Is it acceptable given our playing and financial strength?

Is it-insert expletive cos I’m fed up getting deleted it even happens when the moderator is on holiday!!!

Were you happy on Dec 30? You were halfway happy when we turned up,cos we were playing them off the park. You were just as miserable as Paul,Tom,me and everyone else an hour later.

Honestly, mate. This is not good. We shouldnae be resting on our laurels, nor looking to last season. This season is a bloody disgrace. It needs called out for what it is.

  18. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

And I’m fed up wi excuses about being refereed differently.

    Aye. We are.

So,do something about it and stop bleating.

  19. to all you ghuys out there, thanks for the birthday wishes, to me this place is a family and im lucky to be a part of it hail hail and god bless.

  20. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

Totally agree – a disappointing season so far when weighed against the expectation built up from last season. Still…doesn’t mean it won’t be a successful season.

  21. 50 shades of green

I think his name is still on one of the faces on the die that the SMSM use when trying to think of a solution to an Ibrox problem. They are just using it for the SFA now.

  22. If you take the current average points per game, Celtic 2.31, Aberdeen 2, Sevco 1.84, and use the same average until the end of the season it’ll finish

    Celtic 88

    Aberdeen 76

    Sevco 70

A comfortable 12 point victory over a season of massive injury problems and the inevitable dip from last season’s once in a lifetime invincible year. Not as good as we expected or hoped for but the introduction of so many younger players to the first team will reap benefits in the years to come.
