KT’S EDOUARD PROGRESS REPORT

KIERAN TIERNEY is confident Odsonne Edouard will be fit in time for tomorrow night’s Europa League Group B game against RB Salzburg in Austria.

The Hoops’ £9million striker limped off before the end of the first-half of the 1-0 win over Aberdeen at the weekend after being on the receiving end of a brutal scissor-kick challenge from Scott McKenna.

It looked as though Edouard would miss the Euro crunch, but KT has revealed the French ace was involved in preparationsat Lennoxtown yesterday.

The Scotland international defender said: “He’s fine – he’s back training with us.

“You saw the tackle. It’s one of those things you can’t say too much about – you just need to get on with it and hope that something like that doesn’t happen to you.

“Odsonne got lucky because his foot hadn’t been planted. It looked a really sore one at the time, though, so to have him back on the training ground is great for us.

“I saw the photograph that Odsonne put on social media – and I saw Broony’s comment underneath it as well. [Scott McKenna] probably never meant to do it, but it’s just one of those things – anyone can mistime a challenge.”

It was ironic that Edouard’s replacement, Scott Sinclair, should score the only goal of the encounter with a cheeky back-heel just after the hour mark.

The marverick English attacker will also be in the running for a place in Brendan Rodgers’ line-up for he game against the Austrian champions.
