When watching Real Mardrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich it is easy to be discouraged at the gap between where we are and the quarter finals of the Champions League, but despite the many hundreds of millions spent on both Paris St Germain and Chelsea, the standard of passing and decision making throughout their game last night was abysmal. Despite their win, PSG were the worst offenders last night, even the Great One was poor.
There is now a real prospect that no English side will make it to the semi-final stage of either European tournament for the first time since 2003, when Liverpool were last to drop out, at the quarter finals stage of the Uefa Cup…….. You’re welcome.
What struck me most watching last night’s game was Sky TV’s Gary Neville pondering how long PSG’s star players would languish in such a poor league. This is the French league we’re talking about here, not the Scottish Premiership, it’s Paris, not the ‘New East End’!
It’s easy to mock Neville but he asks an interesting question, will players always migrate to a higher-profile league? If so, there are more clubs than just Celtic in need of structural change.

Myself and an olde Gentleman I was working with at the Time tried to tell one of the most indoctrinated, he was quite clever no doubt, he could regurgitate most pro Rangers nonsense and had others believing the hype, that they had to stop buying season tickets if they wanted to go anywhere. I was being subtle as possible, over 12 months on, I hope he realises for Rangers to do anything, they must realise the old Club Died.

today I decided to treat Charles (son) and Charlie (grandson) to a burger king (the wee fella loves the play area in EK ) I also took along Nicola (daughter) to stop us looking like a complete bunch of charlies…..howevah, we got on to talking about the april fools that have been portrayed in various celtic websites, Charles gave a stern look and I asked ‘don’t tell me you fell for one?’…….’not a football one dad but Julie got me hook line and sinker’ Julie being his partner since his schooldays, this girl is a lovely girl keeps a lovely house and is a great mother, but not a prankster,if you get my drift so I sat up in surprise letting him continue ‘I got up first on the morning of the 1st and did my usual teeth hair and face thing before setting of to work, when I saw a pregnancy test stick with the two lines on it on top of the cistern, as I was running late I just headed out to work, so for the rest of the morning I had the worry about how can we afford another kid, dad I was bricking it, Julie phoned him at lunchtime as this generation do and when he asked about the pregnancy stick, she bursts out laughing thinking that he hadn’t seen it so her wee cunning plan, had misfired (that was my pun) she thought that he would have reacted immediately,and as he didn’t, he couldn’t have seen it……..instead he had a worrying morning at work …….ma poor wee bhoy
